CAN AN EARTHMAN RUNNING LOW ON AMMO WRANGLE A WORLD FULL OF MAGIC AND MONSTERS?

As a mountain man, cowboy, and cavalry scout, Jedediah Braddock handled every challenge on America’s western frontier.

Then he’s transported to Tardoon, a magical world full of deadly predators, gorgeous monster girls, and brutal centaurs.

Most men would have died on arrival, but Braddock has enough love and courage to forge a new destiny in this mighty land. Filled with tough optimism and pioneering spirit, he vows to build the desperate monster girls a sanctuary in the wilderness.

There is much to do.

Timber to cut. Cabins to build. Game to hunt. Land to plow and plant.

Sprites to seed. Children to raise. And a whole bunch of enemies to kill.

Warning: This series contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/harem, and a strong male protagonist with the rough and ready attitude of an American frontiersman. Read at your own risk.

Pretty good. Main character is a cowboy/wrangler/frontiersman in the wild west. Picked up work helping a caravan across the states when a portal opens and centaurs show up and kidnap a beautiful woman from the caravan and head back across the portal. The MC follows and kills all the centaurs saving the woman. They find themselves in a new world with no way home. This world has magic and is filled with monster girls. All the monster girls want the same thing. Man. Having sex with a man gives them more power. The MC builds up his harem as he sets about building up his settlement. He also has to deal with the human woman he saved and how she feels about all the monster girls that want him. Overall an enjoyable story.

To me it was like reading a watered down Celestine chronicles, but more pervy, then there's the survival aspect of it that I found more endearing. The plot is kinda simple, I will see what's it about in the second book I guess.

This book was okay, but it really wasn't anywhere near the quality of Hondo Jinx's Power Mage series. I loved that series because it concentrated on telling a good story first and foremost and then didn't shy away from showing some of the naughtier material this genre is known for. This series puts more of an emphasis on that adult material and the story comes second to that, and therein lies the problem with this book.

This whole book felt like a set up to get the main protagonist a Harem as quick as possible. That might be fun for a little while, but it's not nearly so interesting of setting up a fascinating protagonist, building a rich world for him to play with, setting some serious stakes to keep the story flowing, and taking your time to introduce well fleshed out characters that we come to care for over the course of the story. Taking your time to develop these things mean that all elements of the novel (including the adult stuff if that's what you're here for) are much richer because the time has been taken to properly develop them and to get the reader attached the story.

This book just felt shallow, the characters felt one dimensional, and overall it was just okay. I never had a moment where I thought it was terrible, it just never did enough to get me attached or make me want to read more.

3 stars and I hope the author gets back to following the one rule that all authors should follow above all else: PUT THE STORY FIRST!

Loved this book.

The story was good and I enjoyed the world building. The pacing was breakneck and the action scenes are well written. The world the author is building is very compelling and I enjoyed the progression of the story.

Good Read!

Took a few chapters to get into this but once I did, I didn't look back. Lots of twists and turns and interesting characters. Looking forward to book 2!

Western, fantasy and erotic harems what more could you ask. Jed is a brilliant lead character and the harem is interesting and appealing. The world we have seen little of yet as Jed is still establishing his little corner of it but I'm looking forward to seeing more as it develops. I likes the ending as it gives the hope that the big loose end in book one will be resolved, hopefully with a positive outcome. I like to browse through the other reviews and I agree the one of Hondo's other series Power Mage is superb and I recomend to anyone. But I disagree that Wrangler's story line is weeker it is just happening differently and in Power Mage it took into book two for the main story thread to come out. Lastly thing I must get round to the Dan series as these have been so good.

Nicely Done

A well-written and lengthy (nice!) adult adventure with thoughtful characters and a strong and stable male protagonist. The world is interesting and different, as are the enemies and the regular people. There’s a delightful depth to everything that makes this a good read. There’s a fair amount of sex, but it stays erotic, and doesn’t delve into overly detailed eye-rolling filler. This is another good series from the author, and I look forward to the next book. Recommended.

Done Been Wrangled

Fantasy harem adult situations
If you have read Dan the Barbarian and/or Power Mage, you know you're in for a treat. If you haven't read either series, and you like rollicking adventure, buy this book and enjoy the ride. My only complaint is I hate cliffhangers. However, Wrangler book 2 just came out, so my outrage is mostly a little grumbling as I already bought it and look forward to more serious fun. If you like this book, he has ten more. And the other authors are great, too. Recommended.

A fun, addictive read!

This was a sincere pleasure to read. Some harem lit is simply a series of sex scenes strung together with washed out dialogue or minor action. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the genre, immensely. I just enjoy a book that builds and drags you in, page by page and chapter by chapter. This author has figured out the formula. This is the Old West slammed straight into Raymond Feist's "Fairies Tale" and happily making a baby. I'm very much looking forward to reading more of this series and seeing where my fellow hillbilly can take it.

A good start

Transported into another world. “How To Survive” walkthru by a frontiersman. Makes it more believable. He doesnt know everything but has the brains to put two and two together. I like that. Some PTSD issues coz why not? Not all people get ported to a strange world and act like its just another walk in the park. Sex to me is overblown. Well its a harem after all. But I am more interested in the story, just less sex. World building is intriguing. I will read the next one.

When I read Power Mage a couple of years ago, I really enjoyed the style and the subject. At the time I thought about reading the Wrangler, but didn't because I am not really into the whole cowboy thing. So while looking for something read, I stumbled across the Wrangler again. Remembering fondly how I enjoyed Power Mage, I took the plunge and I am glad I did.

The story is well written and the MC is noble and most of the women are multidimensional and have solid roles to play in the story.

I know I will completely enjoy this series and I can't wait!

What I liked-
The wild, adventurous vibe with a rather rustic style of storytelling.
Calm, practical MC who has his priorities straight.
The harem is decently done esp. considering the premise.

What I didn’t-
Honestly nothing to nitpick. Everything is well put together and the pacing is just right.

Overall- 8.6/10 Very reminiscent of Wild Wastes (Randi Darren) with a more focus on kingdom building. And I thoroughly enjoyed this, would definitely look into his other works.

Great story Darlin’

This is excellent, full of fighting, building, loving and good old frontier adventures on another world. The characters are great and even if our MC has a habit of calling all the girls Darlin’ he is from the old west days and not a modern man….

There is plenty to get your teeth into and it’s well paced and flows along nicely with dragged out boring bits. I for one will be getting the next one so download and read and enjoy 😁

I hope this works out the blurb makes me envision it.

I'm more than halfway through this book, and enjoying it so far.

It's nice seeing someone survive off the land, and build something from nothing.

This was okay, very similar to another series. I wonder which one came first.

I will pick up the sequel sometime.

You might say it's kinda like porn Tarzan... (SPOILER) at first it's like will he fuck it... please not the rats... but after some pages, you notice a pattern that if there is talk about firm breasts then it's a sure thing :D
Overall it's an interesting world, a little shallow characters and all are too well... maybe it gets darker later in the series... I'm in between its a light read and it was fun but I usually look darker stuff :)

More Addictive Fare

Another Excellent Start to a series by Hondo Jinx. His series are so addictive!I love the characters they are very interesting. The world is very interesting and I'm sure will be a not to explore. My only complaint is the ending which made me about "Don't do this to me!" , which I had to explain to my Wife. She did laugh. Great Book now on to book 2!

I liked it.

Fun read, enjoyed it more than Dan series but that like because of the way the characters are. Liked the story although two things did get under my skin. Mainly slavery and what usually happens to females in this sad situation and the drama between the MC and another character.

Excellent Story

If you haven't read stories by Hondo do yourself a big favor and read this is and his 11 others. The Characters are well thought and written, the story line moves along at a brisk pace and the sex is fun without becoming a distraction. Wrangler is a new series of a displaced cowboy on a alternate world of magic and mythss. It was a fun read!

Love this storyline

Fantasy and western genre combined well with a pace that keeps the interest. Started out worrying about lead female being too whiny but that got sorted out. Great storyline and the characters are growing well in depth. Greatly looking forward to many books in this series.

3.5 stars. Mostly enjoyed the book. Only real problem i had was Elizabeth. Feel the author has been watching to much anime or drama series. With the whole i want you but i can't be with you thing. Also the fact that he is so sure she does not want him and that she has given up on him even after she straight up comes out and tells him her feelings.

One of the best empire building books

Didn't think the cover was appealing but glad I tried it. I was looking to escape to a new world during CoVid and decided to pick this up. It almost feels like Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Wild Wastes by Randi Darren. A new world filled with dangers, strange monsters and women and unlikely allies.

Incredible

As a fellow outdoors man. It was obvious from the beginning that this book had been written by someone who had lived what they wrote!!! Great characters, first rate interactions and most importantly a MC that was relatable!!! Thank you and I can't wait to start the next book in this series!!!

DNF 67%

I almost put it down straight away because of how elizabeth was depicted as a character at the start of the book but i was bored/depressed so i kept going and while that 1 aspect of the book improved the rest just didn't grip me. The characters were one note and even when we got new ones introduced they would just be archetypes of different women and nothing else. 2/10

Great series.

Great series, I look forward to seeing more in the future. Since I'm an ex-rodeo bill rider, I enjoy the cowboy influence of the character in this series and the Power Mage series. Keep them coming.
