1.5 completely overrated. read this bc everyone compared it to mo du but that imo is an insult to mo du. the romance was bad the plot twists weren’t surprising or even satisfying. it had a couple funny moments but not enough to make it good. had a lot of things i found offensive. the ml also definitely assaulted the mc which is insane that no one mentions it when talking about the novel anywhere. took me like 4 days to read but i would have sworn i had been reading it for over a week. it felt that tedious ig. this is one of those novels that i’ll never reread (i say that a lot and then always reread bc it’s fun to make fun of them but i won’t w this not even to make fun of.) i wanted to drop it but i was already so far through it that i just stuck it out. esp when it came to the last like 50 chapters i felt like i had to finish it otherwise i would have just wasted my time. i don’t recommend it tbh. there’s like a million better books to read. if u want an actually good gay crime novel go read mo du (google the tws for it tho bc it’s a lot darker then po yun) i might be being like really harsh on this but i think it’s bc i had rly high expectations. maybe go in with lower expectations and lower standards idk i still don’t recommend it tho. if u don’t have high standards and just want to pass the time it’s better to just go read fanfic or something
