Nick Eliopulos was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where he grew up on a steady diet of super-hero comics and “non-fiction” books about alien abductions, psychic phenomena, and Sasquatch. He was fortunate to have parents and teachers who encouraged his off-beat reading habits, which ultimately led him to pursue a degree in cultural studies at the University of Florida.

Shortly after graduating, Nick moved to New York to work in publishing. In the course of his thirteen-year career as a children’s book editor, he had the opportunity to write for a number of licensed properties, from Thomas the Tank Engine to DC Super Friends and Scholastic’s New York Times bestselling multiplatform series Spirit Animals. His original comics work has appeared in anthologies Stuck in the Middle and First Kiss (Then Tell).

Nick’s debut novel, The Adventurers Guild, will be published by Hyperion in October 2017. Co-authored with his best friend Zack Loran Clark, the book is heavily inspired by the duo’s collaborative storytelling experiences with tabletop role-playing games; they’ve been in the same weekly gaming group for nearly a decade.

Nick lives in Brooklyn with his husband, a fellow editor, author, and Southern transplant. He’s currently employed as a narrative designer for an indie video game studio. He still reads super-hero comics and harbors an ever-dwindling hope that Sasquatch might be out there.

It was good. It's easy to read and funny, too. You can buy the whole series for sixty bucks, which is what we did.

I read this book in about a few minutes. I’m pretty sure this is a six short book series and hope to finish it by the end of this week. It’s very interesting and even though it’s for younger kids I’m very fascinated by it and I like the characters. You can imagine yourself as one of them ask that makes it even better!

I love this series so far. But I don’t like how this book didn’t cover the cliffhanger from book 1, into the game, and so there is 2 things for the 3rd book to go over… the evoker king and the one from this book that I’m not putting because of spoilers

Good series to read with my 8 year old son. Some words were difficult for him to pronounce, but plot and illustrations kept us both engaged.

My 9 year old and I just really wanted to know who had the missing headset and why the mobs were relocating. Also, they didn’t see the Evoker King. Way to leave us hanging!

A 4 year old's review: "It was interesting. I liked everything. I'm super excited to keep reading. I learned more about the characters. The bats were kind of creepy. I'm happy with how it ended."

🦇After the success of the the Into The Game first book we immediately went onto the second part of Minecraft Night Of The Bats.

🦇As Morgan, Ash, Harper, Po and Jodie begin to establish their Minecraft lives by assembing items to build walls and craft items in the village, they begin to realise that at night their home is being overrun by hostile mobs.

🦇The crew work together to find a solution which ultimately helps them in their real life at school.

🦇Edward especially love Po and his cos play skins he used when playing in the game.

🦇Another great episode. Make sure you read them in order though because there is continuity in doing so.

I've been reading this series with my son, Z, and we both enjoy it. Together we read this second installment all in one night. It was such fun! As a parent it is a rarity to find a book that catches my interest as much as my 6yo son's. I didn't expect that this would be one of those reads - minecraft isn't my thing at all - but the writing is well done, the characters are lovely and the premise is clever enough to keep me interested. Thank you Nick Eliopulos!

These books are quite fun for my two boys bedtime stories, I enjoyed reading this one and the solution to the problem the characters have with the bats and the teachings within the story are lovely. It's not a lengthy read and the pictures are fun, they are perfect reads for younger minecraft fans with load of references to the game itself and they always leave you on a cliffhanger waiting for the next, the rest of the series is here ready and waiting for them xD.

I think it’s a good book if you like Minecraft. Some words may be difficult for young readers, but over all it’s a cool story. It begins with the characters at their school and during a lesson, they are suddenly disturbed by a lot of bats. It’s up to the group to solve the problem of stopping the bats from coming in again.
The book doesn’t say what age is recommended for reading it, but I think it’s great for age 9 and up.

We've read most of this series aloud with our second-grader. I actually quite like them, as kids' chapter books go. The writing is pretty good, the Minecraft parts have a function in the story, and I like how the kids are depicted: lots of diversity amongst the characters, and they are kind to each other and show emotional growth.

Important to read in order. There's another series that comes after this one - 12 books in total.

It was okay. Not a lot of true substance. Felt like a potato chip. Kept turning pages waiting for it to be good. The scientist in the book looks like a male but is female. Also, the books focus is Minecraft but it comes across as the game is more important or more exciting than real life. I am looking for quality or truly fun things. This didn’t measure up.

This really is a great series. My six year old LOVES it. He said he gave this one a zillion stars too! In this book, I really liked that they find solutions that are out of the box and find ways of applying one solutions to multiple issues. I think my son got a lot out of it.
