Malathi comes from a conservative family. When she takes up a job in Bengaluru, her father gives her a list of conditions. Falling in love is definitely not among them!
Aditya is brilliant and successful. He is also an introvert who has no clue about how to win the girl of his dreams.
Gita V. Reddy writes fiction for both adults and children. Her books for children are written when she takes a break from writing for adults, and vice versa.
She enjoys thinking up tales of different genres and has written historical fiction, women's fiction, and recently has made a foray into regency romance.
For children, Gita V. Reddy has written mysteries, adventure tales, fantasy, science fiction, and also a fable. Her published works include novels, short chapter books, short stories, and picture books for different age groups. Two of her short chapter books, Daksha the Medicine Girl and The Missing Girl are used as supplementary readers in some schools in India. Several of her short stories have been published in Children’s World, India.
In addition to writing, she is interested in art and has illustrated three picture books.
Gita Reddy also writes under the pen names of Heera Datta and Jessica Spencer (for regency romance.)
Ms Reddy is a post graduate in Mathematics. In an earlier life that she voluntarily quit in 2011, she was senior manager in a bank. She lives in Hyderabad, India, with her husband and son.
The Girl from Trichy by Gita V. Reddy Liked this story from the very beginning because she stood up for herself. She was able to gain help from her boss to keep her on although the HR didn't want to hire her. HR also later tries to get her fired because of her dress code-the company had non and HR tried to say it was her boss that came up with the decision. Others in the office tell her otherwise. She adapts and is happy with her work but her relatives want her to get married. After her boss leaves to go to the US for work she stays with her team for another year. When he returns he finds her gone and asks others about her. He recalls when he had first seen her when they meet up again.... Found some words hard to understand and follow along at times and glad the author will add a glossary. Enjoyed the story about India and customs and same problems we have here in US are what occurs there as well. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

It is easy to fall in love, but even harder to let the other person know how you feel!!
Malathi with a little help from her grandmother graduated with a background as a programmer. She applied to a large firm in Bengaluru, the capital of India’s southern Karnatake state. After lots of convincing she finally persuaded her father to let her leave their small town of Trichy, to go to work for the company that had approved her employment. Of course, there was a list of conditions that she would live with, but not one of them included “Falling in Love”! It was a big step for Malathi, and she categorically wanted this. When she arrived in the HR department the manager told her that there had been a mistake, that she did not qualify.
As she was forcefully discussing this with the manager, she heard a man’s voice. “Any problem?” He asked if he could be of any help. The manager changed her tune and told the gentleman, Adi, that there had been a mistake. He was so nice (and handsome) and told the manager that the employment letter had been sent, and if Malathi did not work out during the probation period, that she could be terminated then. Even though she was not happy with that comment, she relented and introduced the gentleman. He heads up the department that you have incorrectly been hired for. Now the story begins….
What did I like? This takes place in India and the customs are a bit different than they are here in the USA. The first being that fathers are more conservative with the lives of their daughters. Of course, women around the world still fall in the category of wanting to make a life for themselves. I think that is just a woman thing, being self-sufficient! The other thing that I think is worldwide is, falling in love!!! But, most important, I believe that it is harder to know the feelings of the other person and what they are thinking. Oh, my goodness, that must be the most important thing there is about people, conveying their feelings, then hoping that both feel the same way!!!!
What will you like? Humorous, intense, realistic, believable, romantic, and wholehearted human nature. When the hearts of the young fly off the shelves to be received by another, the confusion of human nature steps in. So many things can go wrong, and boy do they in this story. The warm and intense feeling will overwhelm you as Gita takes you on this journey of the hearts. Beautifully written and edited, another excellent read that should be in your library.

Even Though The Girl From Trichy Happens To Be My Very First Read With Which I Got Myself Acquainted To Indie Author Gita V.Reddy I Can Say In Full Confidence Speaking For My Ownself That If The Other Books Authored By Her Are Anywhere Remotely Close To This One Then I Can Feel It Within Me That The Journey Has Just Begun. What Makes The Girl From Trichy Such An Absolutely Fascinating Read Is The Earnestness With Which Gita V.Reddy Narrates This Simple Yet Heartwarming Tale That Touches The Core Of The Heart. There Is Something About The Simplicity And Yet Steely Nerves Of Malathi That Reaches Out To Reader And Commands Respect. Malathi-The Girl From Trichy Maybe Traditional But When She Lands Herself A Job In Bengaluru On The Very First Day She Lets Her Superiors Knows That She Can Adapt Smoothly And Swiftly Minus Any Hiccups. While Malathi Refuses To Become One Of The The Crowd In The Office Yet She Makes Sure That She Doesn’t Stand Out Like A Sore Thumb Even If That Means Going The Extra Mile To Meet Targets & Deliver To Satisfaction. When A Hesitant Yet Meaningful Relationship Develops With Her Superior Aditya Not Once Does She Step Out Of Line To Take Advantage But Keeps Her Dignity Intact Even If It Leads To A Heartbreak. The Best Thing About The Girl From Trichy Is That As A Reader You Actually Connect With Malathi And Her Story Leaves You Smiling Fondly When She Laughs Innocently And A Lump In The Throat When She Is Dejected Or Heartbroken. All Said And Done The Author Gita V.Reddy Has Woven A Tale That Has Nothing About It That Seems Far Fetched Or Over The Top And That Is Her Greatest Strength!!!
A cute, short story that I finished in one sitting. The author has created realistic and relatable characters. Malathi is simple and Aditya is an introvert, and the author makes them realise their feelings for each other. The transformation is interesting. I loved Malathi’s grandmother and the role she plays in the book. I loved the story and would definitely read from the author.
Just the right size for a quick fix 😉...this is the second story I am reading by this author. Quite impressive. She has not compromised on the story because of it's short length. Thanks...
