I'm not gonna lie, I really didn't care about this book at all. I'm giving it 2 stars because it wasn't bad, just not for me, and I don't want the books average rating to drastically plummet.

maybe I would've liked this as a child, who knows. I just know that as an adult I couldn't get into it at all, which is a common theme for me and many middle-grade books nowadays.

I know many people adore this book and find magic and comfort in it and, honestly, good for them. but unfortunately that's not gonna be me.

this was a typical case of it's not you it's me, but whether or not you'd enjoy this is honestly up to what kind of books you like.

if you enjoy typically magical middle-grade/children's books, maybe you'd like this. who knows? read it and see for yourself. :)
