I didn't know I needed to read Tanner's story until I actually did. I thought he was an asshole with a heart deep down, and that's all I really needed to know. Until I read this book. Now... I love Tanner Brooks.

The opening scene had me practically begging for more. I needed to know what happened, why it was happening, and how it was going to be resolved. Granata's writing improves with each new novel, and I'm so thankful to have been given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Yep, there's a sex scene in this one. And it's hot. It's realistic, and sweet, and sexy, and not at all cringe-worthy.

I had tears in my eyes more than once throughout this book. Granata's novels are not simply love stories. They are messages of strength. They are words of encouragement, and hope, and lessons learned. They are about fighting your inner demons, overcoming your obstacles, and surviving. They are about becoming the warrior you were meant to be.

I’ve been really looking forward to reading Tanner’s story. He’s just a grumpy asshole and I’m obsessed with that. #sorrynotsorry

I enjoyed this. I thought it was really good.
I wish it had been a duet or lengthened just a tad. I just needed a little bit more.

The Other Brother was right on par with Collision and Avoidance. These books aren’t fluffy reads. They tackle real issues in a tough but delicate way.
I’m going to say it again. There are three words that describe these books: Real. Raw. Romance.

Tanner is the standard! 🥹

The way this man was initially described was so far from the truth! He was sweet, loyal, considerate and fiercely protective 🫠😍

Now, I don’t know if it’s because I read a lot or dark/mafia romance, but I found nothing wrong with him beating up that loser who touched her against her will! That was sexy af to me, and I couldn’t stop myself from rolling my eyes at her reaction.. am I the problem? 🙊

Tanner made this whole book for me. Charlotte kinda got on my nerves, and the story was a little long, but I overall really liked it because of that sweet misunderstood baby 😭😭

*sidenote: I didn’t read the first 2 books, but how on earth was he supposed to be the bad brother of the 2 of them? Chase majorly pissed me off, and I really didn’t like him all that much. Tanner took care of his family AND Chase’s girlfriend while sacrificing his own dreams, and Chase was off trying to be a rockstar 🙄

I just loved Kristen Granata’s book Collision and Avoidance and she was generous enough to send me a copy of her soon to be released book! This book brings the series to completion! While this could be read as a standalone, it does help to have read the first ones.

The Other Brother is Tanners story. In the previous books we don’t find out much about Tanner, other than he’s Chase’s younger brother, he can be a jerk (often), but in spite of his jerkiness he has a big heart – he loves his family and loves Merritt, coming to her rescue when needed!

During this time Tanner meets Charlotte and sets her sights on her, and he is determined to prove that he is more than what people say about him. As they navigate the joys of being in a relationship, Tanner senses that Charlotte is not being completely honest with him and it brings their relationship to a halt. Charlotte has her reasons for being guarded, however Tanner is determined not to let her go! Unfortunately, the past comes crashing in - will Charlotte be able to save Tanner from the consequences of her actions?

I was overjoyed to find that Tanner wasn’t a jerk, but was rather reacting to the circumstances in his life that had spiraled out of control. This book rounds out the story of the first two. Despite her past, Charlotte really is the calm to Tanner’s bravado exterior. Charlotte is sweet, kind and has a quiet strength that becomes more and more evident as the story progresses. Tanner is swoon worthy, loyal and sweet. I struggled with Charlottes best friend, she was so brash and intense (not in a good way), but the more the pondered it, I realized that she showed how sweet Charlotte was and brought balance to her personality!

Thank you to Kristen for providing this ARC for an honest review.

This book made me late for work, not once but three days in a row!
I just could not put it down and read waaay past my bedtime! I absolutely loved Collison and Avoidance, but I think The Other Brother is my favorite! Kristen’s way of writing makes for effortless easy reading that draws you in from the first page. Charlotte is one strong chick who has endured so much pain and loss and Tanner (swoon!), what a dark horse indeed! Their relationship is perfectly imperfect, and I loved it! If you’re looking for a book that is unputdownable and utterly consuming, this is it. 5 Stars with a cherry on top!

I spent a WEEK reading this series, and honestly, what a waste of my freaking time. Despite not liking the first two books, I gave the third a chance. I don't know why I did that, because it just made me very upset with myself.
This person calls herself an author, but for one to be a writer, they must know how to write in the first place. There are so many positive reviews on this, and I doubt they're even real or genuine.
This series in general is sloppy, with very cheesy and cringy scenarios, bad, bad writing (so bad), and characters that would look better in a church giving people their blessings instead of being who they were. I mean, I gave my money and time to this series, and when I get stories written by someone who might as well be a 60 year old granny trying to live out her fetish or fantasy by creating characters and stories she might want to experience in her life...it was a torture.
The males in this were shown possessive and caring, and it was coming off as tooooo much. The author was TRYING to make things look romantic and sweet, but was failing very strongly.
I'm sorry for the way I presented my review, but seriously, this series and everything it has, is bad.

“Yes, Charlotte. I’ve been in love with you since the moment you told me that you washed my shirt according to the instructions on the tag."

Charlotte and her father moved to New York looking for a fresh start. But though they are far from home, they still do not feel safe. Keeping a great secret, Charlotte knows that one day the past will come after her.
While getting a new friend and trying to live her life as normal as possible, she ends up meeting Tanner, the bad boy with a strong temper and a body to die for.
Tanner does not have a good reputation, even more if comparable with his perfect brother Chase. Known as the "other brother" Tanner clearly has difficulty controlling his anger, he is a womanizer and gets into more confusion than is possible or permissible. But the truth behind his behavior is sadder than imagined.
The two will at first try to stay aloof, but with the huge chemistry between them, this task will be almost impossible. Charlotte will be able to center and bring peace to Tanner, while she will bring normalcy and make him forget his problems.
But as in life, not everything is a fairy tale, it will be impossible to escape the problems as they progress. Tanner will be dealing with unimaginable pain, while Charlotte will feel trapped and frightened by a mistake she made a while ago.
Added to that, secrets, Tanner's anger problem, family dramas, the indecision of the protagonists, and the book becomes a time bomb ready to explode.
I liked the reading, I was surprised by the narrative. Tanner and his story broke my heart. He gives up so many things in his life, always thinking about the good of his family, that it is unfair to see how he ends up being branded as a black sheep without being true, while Chase, who for me is extremely selfish, is the perfect guy and is acclaimed by everybody.
The plot of Charlotte serves to move the story, bring a little suspense and apprehension. Mallory works as a comic relief, taking the best lines out of the book.
Much more than a novel, the book shows two people who are not living their best stages at the moment, and who, when they meet, are able to recognize each other's pain in their eyes. And as they help each other, they will find that together, the chance to escape unhurt after a storm is much bigger. And much more rewarding.

Tanner, oh Tanner! You stole my heart from the first few chapters!

I freaking LOVED this book (with the exception of having to relive the loss of Mr. Brooks a second time because that wounded me deeply)!!!! From beginning to end, this story consumed me.

Tanner was in the shadows of his brother's success and was understandably bitter about it. He gave up his dreams to help support his family and ailing father. But in the process, he'd also given up on himself. Drinking to mask the pain, caring only about those closest to him, walking around like he was ready to throw down with anyone who looked at him wrong. A completely miserable, shell of a man, until Charlotte entered his line of sight.

She had her own battles to face and secrets to hide. But dang was she strong and courageous! Kristen does an amazing job of creating heroines who are knocked down time and time again but never defeated. They are true warriors! That's what I love most about her books. Extremely smart and independent female leads and equally rivaled heroes. The men aren't there to rescue the damsel in distress, but rather lift them up and walk along side them.

I was so invested in seeing Tanner and Charlotte find happiness in their lives and in each other. The pains and struggles they faced individually and together really built an incredible foundation for their relationship to thrive. So much intense drama and suspense surrounded these two. But in the end, they came out on top and in love.

Gah! I just loved this couple so much and can't wait for another book featuring these incredible characters!

Kristen has gone done it again!

I absolutely loved Collision and Avoidance. They were two of my favorite books I read last year. But I honestly think The Other Brother is even better. I don't know how she did it but damn, she floored me.

I had a feeling I would love Tanner. There is a depth to him that I also felt with TJ and Merritt. He feels so much that it consumes and overwhelms. He doesn't know how to channel the myriad of emotions in a healthy way so he relies on violence and alcohol. Enter TJ (hello book boyfriend) who yet again lays down some serious emotional voodoo while looking sexy as hell. But back to Tanner ...
Oh, did that man break my heart at least a dozen times. Tanner had me in tears. He sacrificed so much for his family and yet never felt like he measured up to his brother. And the love he had for Charlotte ... GAH! I was swooning left and right. I will forever be a TJ girl but Tanner was a few words away from stealing my heart.

Then there was Charlotte. I absolutely loved her. She was this low-key warrior-quietly fierce-until she needed to roar and damn did she roar. You don't have to be loud and brazen to be brave. You can be vulnerable and still be a badass and that was Charlotte. The instant connection between her and Tanner was everything. The push and pull kept had me gripping my Kindle. The little moments that I feel Kristen writes so well -a quick glance, subtle touches, sweet words that just hit you straight to the heart. She makes you completely fall in love right alongside the characters. Everyone is so real and relatable and whether you're new to the series or you're as obsessed with it as I am, you will be rooting for these two beautiful souls from the jump.

This is a book that I will read many times over. I can't get enough of this series.

If you read book 1 and 2 of this series then this book coincides with those but you are following Tanner and Charlotte's story. I really enjoyed getting in Tanner's head, seeing everything from his point of view. I loved Chase and Merritt's story previously but this book is going to make you love Tanner and Charlotte's just as much. AND we get to see a little TJ again and I don't know about the rest of the readers but I have loved him since we met him and I cannot wait for his story. You could maybe read this book as a standalone but I would really recommend reading the first two books in this series first. Another great book from Kristen Granata!

I won book 1 in this series from the giveaways at Goodreads.com. And I win a lot of first time authors, for me it's usually a lot more misses than hits. I loved the first book in this series, Collision. I will admit, I went in not expecting much. And then, I was blown away. It lead me to not only read that book but to also purchase book 2 and 3. And I am anxiously awaiting book 4.

This was a really good book. I have not checked out this author before, but you you better believe that I will from now on. I am a huge fan of NA romances and this one hit it right on the head!

Charlotte is a good girl but with one very big secret. When her and her father move to a completely new place for her college career, she feels like a fish out of water. There are several attractive guys, but why is only one that is super dark and broody that seems to call to her?

Tanner has SO much anger inside of him, the only thing to calm it is the new girl that is both sassy and sweet and lights him up.

These two do NOT have an easy journey, but their story is one that will give you all the feels and believe that soul mates are real! <3

I really enjoyed this book. It is a heartwarming love story with glimmers of wisdom scattered throughout the narrative, themes relating to overcoming loss, finding resilience, how weaknesses can be transformed into strengths if we are willing to confront painful emotions and the struggle to accept ourselves enough to let someone else see who we really are. I loved how the author showed that Tanner was so much deeper and more complicated than others had thought at first glance, revealing that pain and difficult circumstances can cause people to guard themselves in ways that often lead to being misunderstood.

I highly recommend this story to all romance readers.

I'm a new reader to Kristen Granata and The Other Brother had a great storyline and was really well written. I know this is part of a series but I found it easy to read as a standalone, the author gave enough backstory for the secondary characters when needed so I didn't feel lost.

Charlotte and her dad have relocated to New York after a terrifying incident. Charlotte is hoping to rebuild her life but she's carrying a heavy burden which won't make it easy for her.
Tanner is a bit of a bad boy with a temper, he's a love em and leave em type of guy where the ladies are concerned but is there more to his behaviour than meets the eye.
When Charlotte and Tanner meet sparks fly but their hesitancy to be completely honest with each other could tear them apart before they have really begun.

A great read for me and I will definitely be going back and reading the previous books in the series.

This book was absolutely amazing, Kristen creates such beautifully flawed characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Charlotte and Tanner’s relationship is full of passion, undeniable chemistry and drama. I was pulled in right from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. Everything is so vividly clear you almost feel as if you’re right there because Kristen’s writing is so descriptive you can help but feel captivated by it all.

From the moment they met Charlotte Thompson was drawn to Tanner Brooks, his broody, yet very sexy self, did something to her that she could not explain. She wasn't really in the market for a boyfriend, so she attempted to push him away, but life had a way of continually bringing him back around.

She could see the pain he carried in his eyes, it somewhat mirrored the pain in her own, and made her realize that he might just understand the demons she was carrying too. But letting someone in, baring her truth could be so dangerous, to both of them, and that was a risk she wasn't so sure she could take. But in those eyes she saw a kindness too that drew her in, made her feel safe, and made her want to give him a chance. And once she did there was no going back....

Between the pages of The Other Brother you will find a heart-wrenching story of strength, perseverance, love, and healing. This beautifully penned tale was a moving opposites attract love story that left me swimming in emotion, and carrying a happy heart. These two wounded souls had endured so much in their lives, their pain was palpable throughout, but the love they found in one another gave me hope that there were happier times in store for them. I loved following them on their journey, watching them battle their demons, and embrace their newfound love... it was quite inspiring! I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it words will leave you moved, and it's characters will leave an lasting impression on your heart!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Kristen Granata tells just the story we all want for Tanner in The Other Brother. I think we’ve all either been that person or know a person that lives in the shadow of another people. This is Tanner’s life. He’s really struggled with it. He’s put his life and dreams on hold to support his family and here he is living in the shadow. I seriously understand his bitterness. Man do I get it. He feels defeated. Until Charlotte. I love the light that gets lit under him. I felt his story… beautifully.
Miss Granata wrote strait to my heart. She really gives us a story we can all understand and feel for. I feel like the entire story has come full circle. Tanner got a story that he seriously deserves.

Granata develops her characters so beautifully… they are deep and layered. I feel so much positivity from the story. I loved finding the real Tanner under all his aloofness. While I love the development of the people in this book, what made me devour it was the drama… the suspense. I really love a book that feels so unputdownable! Great story! Keep em coming Kristen Granata!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

After reading Collision, I couldn't wait to read more about The Other Brother, Tanner!

Right away, this story had me swept away wanting more. I love how it began with learning about Charlotte's past. That whole element to the story was so thrilling and exciting. It kept you on your toes waiting for it to resurface later. Also, I adored how Tanner and Charlotte first met in the cafeteria where Collision started off too!!

Charlotte was one of my favorite type of female characters. She was incredibly sweet and kind-hearted but yet fierce. I really connected with her!!!

I'll admit Chase is pretty much my dream guy so I was nervous about whether I'd love Tanner as much. And well don't tell Chase but I did. They're both such an amazing guys in their own different ways. I'm a sucker for the bad boy vibe that Tanner has. But I love getting to see his softer side and how much he truly cared for his family and Charlotte.

This story was not only a wonderful romance but it did a great job at touching on the realness of overcoming grief. It was a beautiful story that had me swooning ( and craving donuts.) Can't wait to see what Kristen writes next! Be sure to add this one to your list!!!

This is the first Granata book that I have read and I can say that even thought this is book 3 in the Collision series I don’t feel lost when I picked it up.

Charlotte lost almost everything and now she is living a very big lie; feeling like her father betrayed her they start a new life. When she comes face to face with the shirtless god that is Tanner she reminds herself that she does not need a bad boy in her life; especially once that has no control over his temper. Tanner gave up his dreams to stay at home and be there with his family when they needed him; taking over the family business and sharing the load. He has been carrying around the heavy burden on his shoulders for the past 2 years taking it out on everyone around him. When he meets Charlotte is wants to shed all of that to be the man she deserves; can he be everything she needs him to be or will her own lies and guilt be the end of them?

I personally enjoyed the storyline of this book and while I felt it took a long time to get into the nitty gritty of it all I thought the book was very well written and the story pulled me in wondering how it was going to play out.

I look forward to reading more from Granata in the future.

I have been waiting for this book. I saw the blurb and was intrigued but the book hadn't released. Uuugh! But wait it's part of a series so I had time to go read the first 2. It was unnecessary because this story could standalone on its own but beneficial for back story on other characters and such.
So anyway here it is I have book that originally started my fascination with this author and her incredible characters.
I loved it!! It was a love story but also a story of strength to overcome your past and loss. (Inner strength seems to be a theme with this author and I LIKE IT!)
Tanner and Charlotte had a bumpy road both had person baggage and needed to get their own heads straight before they were going to be good together. I enjoyed watching them battle inner wars to be together. Tanner was a hothead with a romantic side that made me swoon. Charlotte was a sweet girl with secrets in her that kept her from moving on with a happy life.
Usually you read a story and broken characters come together and fix each other but in this one they fixed selves so they could be together.
A great story with action packed moments that were a fantastic addition to a beautiful love story.
I hope this series continues! There is a character who needs story and hope he is next!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my favourite book in the series!! I loved it!! I am a sucker for a misunderstood bad boy, and Tanner definitely hit the mark. You are introduced to him in the first two books, but you get to dig a little deeper into what makes him tick in this book. He is ultimately a good guy who has had to bare some burdens, and is a little resentful of that.

The chemistry between Tanner and Charlotte is charged right from the beginning. I like that they are two strong characters. Charlotte, while clearly hiding something and afraid, is still strong, and doesn't let Tanner get away with treating her poorly; she doesn't play games, and calls things like they are. Tanner grows a lot in this book, and the perspective of the issues between Tanner and Charlotte that you have at the end of the previous book are much different; you get to know the real reason behind them.

You also get introduced to a new character in one of Charlotte's old friends, and I sense/hope there is more to her story that we get to find out!

Looking forward to more from Kristen Granata!

I fell for Tanner in books 1 and 2 when everything was about his brother Chase and Merritt. Even though he was a secondary character he was very much a huge part of the story and made an impact, so I was so happy and eager to read his story. There was just something about him that drew me in. Tanner’s story was no different. I enjoyed reliving everything through his POV.

Charlotte... I was half and half with her. I like her but I didn’t and I don’t really know why. I think knowing what a great guy Tanner was from how he stepped up in the previous stories made me feel like she wasn’t good enough for him. He didn’t have to prove himself to me because he was already my favorite and so Charlotte was the one having to prove she was worthy of him. Maybe it’s just me. But I did like her. She was kind and strong and fierce, and her background and journey were tough, so I felt for her.

Overall, I enjoyed this story very much, and am anxious about TJ next. I’m already in love with him so I can’t imagine anyone other than myself being worthy of his time and love.

Again, kudos to Kristen Granata for keeping me on the edge of my seat and making my heart feel all these wonderful things.

Charlotte has recently moved to NY from Florida to escape the past that she was not responsible for. All she wants is a new beginning and the last thing she needs is to be attracted Tanner as she has more than enough complications in her life.

Tanner gave up his dreams for his family, but he has always felt that he lacked when he was compared to his brother. He handles his anger and pain with alcohol but from the moment that he meets Charlotte she brings light to his life and he is not about to just let her walk away.

I really enjoyed these two characters as Charlotte is so much stronger than even she realizes, and Tanner is so protective when it comes to those he loves. There was no denying the chemistry and connection between them, but it was when they were able to trust each other that you knew that they were meant to be.

I haven't read the previous books in this series, so I was hesitant to read this one. However, the snip description of the story line caught my interest, to say the least. And it was noted that the book could be read as a standalone. So I gave it a shot. And very glad that I did...now I must go read the rest of the series because I'd love to have a back story on all the characters. This is an author I've never heard of, but will keep an eye out for new books from Kristen Granata.
The story was realistic and it was fun to immerse myself into Charlotte and Tanner's relationship. It had so many ups and downs, and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, I kept getting surprised. I really enjoyed that about this book. Of course I was rooting for Tanner from the beginning (I may have a thing for calm and quiet/troubled and brooding types). As far as Charlotte goes, the drama unfolding in the first few paragraphs kept the pages turning fast for me.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Having read the first two books in the series I was really happy to have the opportunity to review The Other Brother.
I completely adored this series and this third book didn’t disappoint. This book follows Tanner and Charlotte. Tanner, is known as the black sheep I guess, but underneath it all is a proper stand up guy.

The story was fantastic, a beautifully written heart wrenching love story but with plenty of grit thrown in, and a little heat which was great!

I love that elements of the first two books were blended in and the characters I’d loved popped up and made an appearance. I really do hope book 4-should there be one-is Carla & TJ’s story, then Mallory please!!!!

This is really, hands down, one of the best series I have read 💞
