Alice Wilkenson grew up with the Hastings brothers. She's always viewed them as family more than friends, and the feeling is mutual. Annoying, interfering, and frustrating to have seven brothers constantly on the look out for you. But one brother starts keeping a closer eye on Alice than the others: Calvin.
Calvin Hastings works hard on the family ranch. From operating heavy machinery, working cattle, and tending horses, the ranch keeps him busy. However, he finds himself making more and more time to check in on Alice. He finds her infiltrating his thoughts more than she used to and he hasn't quite figured out how he feels about that.
Can Alice view Calvin as more than a friend?
Can Calvin show Alice that friendship can lead to love?
I sat here for about five minutes trying to think of something prolific to write, and all I came up with was that first sentence. However, despite it being simple and understated, it's a genuine response. I appreciate all who read and listen to my books. And for those who rate and review it, a special thanks to you. Happy Reading! Katharine

I had a hard time liking Alice for about three quarters of the book. I get that she's brassy, bold and bossy, but she was a bit overboard. Especially in her treatment of sweet Cal. What a great guy he is! She redeemed herself towards the end, though. Love these brothers!
I enjoy these books by Katharine Hamilton, they make light, cosy reading and its always comforting to read a book when you know the ending is going to be happy. There are only a few moments of anxiety in them before the main characters (in this case Alice and Calvin) get together- making Hamilton’s books perfect escapism at the end of a stressful day. In this book, I like the fact that Alice, who is quite a prickly character, makes the moves on Calvin and that Calvin is a little shy as well as being a deep thinker. I also enjoy learning about ranch handling- those boys have my utmost admiration as they slave away, putting in posts and building fences in that hot Texan sunshine. I gave it 4 starts and not 5 because I do wish there was a little more sexual tension in these books. ~I know some people label these books ‘clean’ but there is nothing dirty about a bit of sex between loving and consenting adults! But hey ho you can’t have everything I guess and I suppose that isn’t Hamilton’s vibe.
This is another great story about the Hastings brothers. Calvin, second oldest was a real worker, organizer, trying to take care of everyone. Alice, the vet, family friend, thought there might be something between her and Calvin. Calvin was always doing something for her, mainly working on her run down house. Alice decided to test the water, by kissing him, just to see if there was something there. She felt the tingle. More to come, just keep reading Calvin’s story.
Calvin: The Brothers of Hastings Ranch is book 2 in the series by Katherine E. Hamilton. The Hastings Ranch is shared by the seven Hastings brother, but headed by Graham, the oldest. Calvin has worked the ranch by Graham’s side doing a little of everything around the ranch. He has worked closely with the vet Alicia Wilkinson and has known her since they were born. He has looked after her all this time but now is seeing her in a different light. Can he convince her to see him in a romantic way?
Another sweet story. I loved Calvin but struggled a bit with Alice. I felt she was rude and unappreciative. I do not feel she warm up to Calvin or showed him she really cared. It was like she just decided and told him that was how it was by kissing him. I did not feel the connection with Alice to Calvin. I loved Calvin's character and how he showed Alice he cared, but I do not feel she deserved or appreciated him.. All in all, it was cute story.
I loved reading this one too, the part where they were pushing the cattle into the new pasture and the new horse had to be plow reined was awesome! Been there so many times in my younger days! The romance between Alice and Cal was so sweet, it took them both so long to finally see it themselves!
I am totally in love with these brothers. Loved the story and the characters development from best friends to boyfriend/girlfriend. Calvin was so great, but sometimes I just wanted to smack Alice a little.
What better love than a friendship that has lasted from childhood? A story you can't out down til you find out how it is going to turn out. Will they continue as lifelong friends or is it just possible there is more happening they they ever expected?
This series is fun. This is only the 2nd book I have read in this series but the characters are fun and interesting. The stories twist together which I like. It keeps me turning pages to find out what happens next. Read this series it is a GOOD CLEAN Read.
This is a safe, clean, quick read about a couple who have known each other since they were children falling in love with each other in spite of "help" from their family and friends.
