Evil and darkness broods in secret, a poison deep in the white caps of the Colorado mountains. Shadowy deeds slither forth from its fell peaks as Phoenix Dunnigan Rather, a teenager in high school, is forced to abandon his normal life to journey after his kidnapped parents as the enigmatic Black Widow demands their soul for his soul, freedom for consumption. Accompanied by his ever loyal companions and their elderly guide, Phoenix battles his human frailty as strange creatures, wolves, and venomous words tear wounds of flesh and fear into him. He quickly discovers not all is as it seems and the end is just about to begin.
Phoenix's parents have been kidnapped and his life changes. He sets off on a rescue mission along with his friends, such as Katy and Temper. The goal is simple but the means becomes a lot more complicated than foreseen. The story is plot-driven, immersive, and descriptive. This is a short and quick read.
