FBI Special Agent Zoe Prime suffers from a rare condition which also gives her a unique talent: she views the world through a lens of numbers. The numbers torment her, make her unable to relate to people, and give her a failed romantic life. Yet they also allow her to see patterns that no other FBI agent can.
In FACE OF FURY, women are turning up dead, victims of a serial killer who carves a mysterious symbol on their bodies. The symbol holds some mathematical significance, and Zoe struggles to know if he is killing in the order of PI.
But when her theory falls apart, Zoe must second guess everything she thought she knew.
Has Zoe’s talent met its match? And can she save the next victim in time?

In book 4, Zoe's life spirals downward when the case she is working on causes personal tragedy. This book opens with Zoe barely hanging on as she loses control of the numbers around her. Suspended from her job and reeling with guilt, Zoe pushes everyone away as she slides into depression. A new case pulls her out of her self-imposed isolation, but she is far from being ready to deal with the numbers and a new partner. This case not only tests her ability to see connections in odd places, but stretches Zoe in other ways as well. What I enjoyed most about this book was seeing how Zoe is able to rise above the recent challenges and setbacks she is facing. These books aren't just about solving a murder, but about seeing a character evolve. I am looking forward to reading more about this intrepid FBI agent.
Another brilliantly penned enigmatic thriller in the Zoe Prime series by Blake Pierce. The protagonist who is gifted with a rare and privileged talent of seeing the world in numbers is assigned a new case immediately after her suspension where women are found dead with a mysterious symbol engraved on their stomachs. Amidst, Zoe's struggle to overcome the grief of her partner Shelly Rose's death, with whom she had begun to share a professional and personal bonding, she has to not only overcome her depression of remorse with medication but also harmonize with a new partner fresh out of the academy. With this challenge, she has to quickly nab the perpetrator before he strikes again. Zoe's gifted talent helps her decipher the clues left by the killer. Together with her gut instincts and situational intuitions that she learned over the period from Shelly, she cracks the inklings on the pattern of the killings and predicts the next possible victim. During the investigation cycle, Zoe's new partner has several differences of opinion, his lack of experience shows all over, and a young ego driven enthusiasm of making an impression in the very first case takes him off- track at many instances. Zoe shows extreme resilience in managing these traits and yet in the end both work as a team to nab the fugitive in the nick of time. Extremely captivating with twists and turns. Having read all of Zoe Prime series, now eagerly awaiting for Book 6.
An excellent addition to the series. Characters have flaws making them relatable and are written with depth. The storyline was intriguing and the mystery well plotted. Although Aiden is interesting he is not Shelly who I truly missed.
Zoe is still dealing from her partners death, mired in her guilt that she couldn't protect her. When SAIC Maitland shows up at her door she wants to resign but he hands her an interesting case to consider. When she agrees to take it on he saddles her with a new partner, fresh out of the academy. Now dealing with guilt, depression, self-medicating and a new partner she must find a way to find the killer before he strikes again.

While I’ve really enjoyed other books by Pierce, this one was difficult for me to get into. I found the whole numbers thing very distracting and couldn’t follow the story. I’ll stick with Pierce, but stay away from this particular series.
Face of fury by Blake Pierce. This is Zoe Prime #5. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Zoe. She was my favourite character. Flynn grew on me. I'm looking forward to the next book. 5*.
Zoe Prime is my favorite Blake Pierce character. Against all odds she is a successful FBI agent. She is just an incredible character! She’s super smart and tough. Her cases are interesting. If you haven’t given her a try, you are missing a great read.
This book was much better than the previous entry. Well written and interesting, I enjoyed the character growth and the new agent is a promising addition.
