Die Saga als Sammelband zu bewerten finde ich eigentlich unmöglich. Dafür gibt es qualitativ zu große Sprünge.
Band eins fand ich genial wie eigentlich auch noch Band zwei.
Mit Band drei hält man eine durchschnittliche SciFi-Erzählung in Händen. Ganz okay aber eigentlich gibt sie nichts preis vom roten Faden, der sie durch die gesamte Reihe zieht.
Leider zeigt sich mit Band vier, dass besagter roter Faden im Jahr 3001 stark verblasst ist.
Es taucht unerwartet und überaus unlogisch ein Charakter auf. Dem Leser wird suggeriert, man hätte aus Band eins eine intensivere Beziehung zu ihm, was nicht stimmt. Dave hatte die und wir waren währenddessen nicht dabei.
Jedenfalls ist diese Figur der abschließende Protagonist der Saga. Was er erlebt, ist Tourismus in 1000 Jahren. Es gibt kaum richtige Handlung, stattdessen eher Fragmente, Dinge geschehen zu schnell, werden nicht ausgearbeitet, es gibt Zeitsprünge, vieles geschieht in einer Art Zeitraffer. Das Ende wirkt arg übers Knie gebrochen und gewollt.
Meine Empfehlung:
Lest "2001" und "2010".
Der Rest lohnt nicht - leider.

Si solo fuera por la primera narración de este volumen: 2001 odisea en el espacio, le pondría 5 estrellitas a este libro por que es una verdadera obra maestra de la ciencia ficción, una historia que vale cada minuto invertido en ella y que es un referente de la cultura popular.
Pero al avanzar con el resto de los relatos la calidad de los mismos va descendiendo, tratando de estirar la historia de los personajes hasta extremos ridículos, en particular el inicio de 3001, se me hizo ridículo a mas no poder.
Es una lástima que el mismo escritor haya arruinado su obra y las 1200 paginas de este libro después de 2001 se me hicieron eternas.
Pero al avanzar con el resto de los relatos la calidad de los mismos va descendiendo, tratando de estirar la historia de los personajes hasta extremos ridículos, en particular el inicio de 3001, se me hizo ridículo a mas no poder.
Es una lástima que el mismo escritor haya arruinado su obra y las 1200 paginas de este libro después de 2001 se me hicieron eternas.

Die Odyssee-Reihe ist ein Klassiker in der Science Fiction und ich kann gut verstehen warum.
Viele moderne hard-SF-Romane haben einen ähnlichen Aufbau und Schwerpunkt, sind aus heutiger Sicht aber infolge der technischen Weiterentwicklung interessanter zu lesen. Da die Reihe allerdings genau dort seine Stärke hat (oder vielmehr vor 40-50 Jahren hatte) bleibt aus heutiger Sicht nicht so viel übrig. Die Charaktere sind schwach geschrieben und die Interaktionen wirken daher belanglos.
Wenig überraschend fand ich „3001“ (als einzigen weichen Sf-Teil) am unterhaltsamsten.
Die gesamte Reihe hintereinanderweg zu lesen, kann ich nicht empfehlen. Der Inhalt der einzelnen Teile bezieht sich zwar aufeinander, aber die Romane stehen jeweils am besten für sich selbst. Die 4 Bücher als einen Epos zu verstehen, kann für Verwirrung sorgen.

Las dos estrellas no son una puntuación de las novelas (las dos primeras son formidables; las dos siguientes decaen bastante), sino de la edición: cada novela está traducida por una persona distinta, con lo que aparecen discrepancias textuales obvias; las dos primeras novelas resultan especialmente incómodas, incluso irritantes, de leer por lo deficiente de la traducción (calcos, redacción rebuscada, errores claros de interpretación). Las erratas de la edición tampoco ayudan. Habría sido de esperar una edición más cuidada de la saga. Como punto positivo, se han incluido los prólogos y epílogos de Clarke a cada una de las novelas, donde aparecen datos interesantes sobre su concepción y redacción.

2001 y 2010, además de ser increíbles aventuras espaciales con sustento científico impecable, tienen una escala monumental, cargados de potentes cuestionamientos metafísicos y cósmicos. 2061 y 3001 no alcanzan los grandes niveles narrativos de sus predecesores pero siguen siendo aventuras disfrutables.

Este libro bien lleva su nombre, pues es toda una odisea con respecto al viaje que deben llevar los personajes. Este volumen recopila los cuatro libros de una odisea espacial, lo que ayuda a quienes disfrutamos de leer toda una saga de corrido. La historia es interesante, aunque en unas partes puede ser un poco tedioso cuando explican mucho sobre química, física o astronomía, no estoy en contra de las explicaciones en un libro, pero a veces tomaban cinco páginas en lo que podría haber sido dos o una. La última parte que gira en torno al año 3001 es a mi parecer, la parte del libro más futurista, me pregunto si el autor de los Simpson y creador de futurama se inspiro en este último para hacer su serie, no haré spoiler pero quienes disfruten de futurama y el futurismo, disfrutarán esta última parte del libro pues las referencias que hace futurama del libro son muchas, aunque es algo pesado, lo recomiendo al 100%

Un volumen reúne por primera vez las cuatro novelas que componen la serie
Una odisea espacial

Arthur C. Clarke
cuando se cumple una década del fallecimiento del escritor británico y medio siglo de la publicación de su obra más emblemática, la maravillosa 2001: una odisea espacial. Con ella nacería una aventura narrativa que se prolongaría durante tres décadas y que supondría un punto de inflexión en la ficción científica.
Lo cierto es que ninguna de sus tres continuaciones (2010: odisea dos, 2061: odisea tres y 3001: odisea final) está a la altura de la novela que lo empezó todo, pero su lectura es un placer del que disfrutarán especialmente los aficionados a la astronomía, la física o la mecánica celeste y quienes gusten de deleitarse con las propuestas de un autor que en muchos momentos de esta serie escribe, más que ficción, literatura de anticipación.

Lo cierto es que ninguna de sus tres continuaciones (2010: odisea dos, 2061: odisea tres y 3001: odisea final) está a la altura de la novela que lo empezó todo, pero su lectura es un placer del que disfrutarán especialmente los aficionados a la astronomía, la física o la mecánica celeste y quienes gusten de deleitarse con las propuestas de un autor que en muchos momentos de esta serie escribe, más que ficción, literatura de anticipación.

2001 - Odyssee im Weltraum:

Sehr gutes Buch. Man bemerkt die Einflüsse, die es auf die Science-Fiction nach ihm hatte. Spannend aber gegen Ende wird es sehr schnell und kompliziert. Bahnbrechende Ideen und eine KI-Vorstellung, die immernoch fest an uns klebt. In wie vielen Filmen und Serien wurde hierauf schon verwiesen? Originell und spannend. Die Einflüsse von Clarke auf Kubrick und von Kubrick auf Clarke haben sowohl Buch als auch Film sehr gut getan.
2010 - Das Jahr, in dem wir Kontakt aufnehmen:

Während wir in 2001 mit David Bowman hautnah miterleben, was in den tiefen unseres Sonnnensystems passiert, hat 2010 einen völlig anderen Ansatz. Wir sind nicht mehr der claustrophobischen und einsamen Leere ausgesetzt während wir mit Bowman mitfühlen. Diesmal sind wir stille Beobachter, die nur zusehen können, wie etwas passiert, das sich völlig außerhalb unseres Verstandes abspielt. Die Erzählstruktur verändert sich nicht, wir sind immernoch nahe am Geschehen und trozdem fühlt es sich anders an. Die Geschichte bleibt unkonventionell und großartig. Sie tut originelle und kreative Dinge und erweitert den ersten Band um vieles.
2061 - Odyssee III:
★★★☆☆
2061 ist lange nicht so gut wie seine Vorgänger. Er zerstört sogar einiges seiner Vorgänger. Keine innovativen Ideen mehr, sondern uninteressantes Worldbuilding. Das Ende verändert einiges aus dem Vorgänger und auch wenn ich das Neue mehr mag, hätte es nichts verändern sollen.
3001 - Die letzte Odyssee:
★★☆☆☆
Schwächer und mehr Widersprüche. Wirklich eine Enttäuschung. Schade, dass die Teil drei und vier so viel schlechter sind als Band 1 und 2.

Sehr gutes Buch. Man bemerkt die Einflüsse, die es auf die Science-Fiction nach ihm hatte. Spannend aber gegen Ende wird es sehr schnell und kompliziert. Bahnbrechende Ideen und eine KI-Vorstellung, die immernoch fest an uns klebt. In wie vielen Filmen und Serien wurde hierauf schon verwiesen? Originell und spannend. Die Einflüsse von Clarke auf Kubrick und von Kubrick auf Clarke haben sowohl Buch als auch Film sehr gut getan.

Während wir in 2001 mit David Bowman hautnah miterleben, was in den tiefen unseres Sonnnensystems passiert, hat 2010 einen völlig anderen Ansatz. Wir sind nicht mehr der claustrophobischen und einsamen Leere ausgesetzt während wir mit Bowman mitfühlen. Diesmal sind wir stille Beobachter, die nur zusehen können, wie etwas passiert, das sich völlig außerhalb unseres Verstandes abspielt. Die Erzählstruktur verändert sich nicht, wir sind immernoch nahe am Geschehen und trozdem fühlt es sich anders an. Die Geschichte bleibt unkonventionell und großartig. Sie tut originelle und kreative Dinge und erweitert den ersten Band um vieles.
2061 - Odyssee III:
★★★☆☆
2061 ist lange nicht so gut wie seine Vorgänger. Er zerstört sogar einiges seiner Vorgänger. Keine innovativen Ideen mehr, sondern uninteressantes Worldbuilding. Das Ende verändert einiges aus dem Vorgänger und auch wenn ich das Neue mehr mag, hätte es nichts verändern sollen.
3001 - Die letzte Odyssee:
★★☆☆☆
Schwächer und mehr Widersprüche. Wirklich eine Enttäuschung. Schade, dass die Teil drei und vier so viel schlechter sind als Band 1 und 2.

Un libro (o más bien cuatro) que me han devuelto el deseo de recorrer el espacio.
De la tetralogía (sobre cuya continuidad el autor se disculpa desde el principio, ya que cada título se debió a los descubrimientos de su tiempo), los dos títulos trascendentales, y que en sí pueden conformar una bilogía, son 2001 y 2010. Por otra parte, en el creciente humor se hace notar que Clarke disfrutó mucho al escribir 2061 y 3001. Alí donde en los primeros destaca la fantasía del descubrimiento espacial, en los dos segundos el autor se regodea en el aspecto personal de los personajes creados y en las posibles tecnologías que se arriesga a predecir (él mismo, en su epílogo, reconocerá haberse quedado corto).
En cuanto a narrativa y ritmo, en especial de los dos primeros títulos, son estupendos. 2001, tanto la película como el libro, se ven y leen con otros ojos al saber que vieron la luz antes de que el ser humano pisara la luna. 2010 (libro) es una secuela magnífica.

2001, una obra mestra.
2010, una bona novel·la de ciència ficció.
2061 y 3001, molt dolentes, totalment prescindibles.
Encara que tindre la tetralogia completa en una edició bastant xula -llàstima que no siga en tapa dura-, val la pena.
Realment no he llegit tot el llibre -ja vaig llegir les novel·les fa temps-, ara només he llegit el material complementari, molt interessant també.

Bastante rigurosa la ciencia en estos libros, no descuida la trama tiene buen desarrollo, por lo que no le doy las 5 estrellas es por la consistencia en los libros. Cambia ciertas cosas entre un volumen y otro para adaptarlos a descubrimientos que se hayan hecho en los años entre publicación.

Se qualcuno leggerà ciò che ho scritto, spero mi perdoni per non essere mai entrato nei particolari più fitti, ma è stato al fine di evitare l'inserimento di spoilers, dato che si presume (almeno io lo faccio) che una "recensione" sia soprattutto rivolta a chi non ha ancora fruito dell'opera trattata.
Inizio col dire che il primo pregio di questa edizione è quello di avere riuniti tutti e quattro i libri di "Odissea nello spazio". Bisogna certo ammettere che forse il primo è il più ispirato. Leggere quel primo libro (cosa che, a mio avviso, è bene fare solo dopo aver visto l'onomimo film di Kubrick) è stato ciò che mi ha fatto innamorare non solo della fantascienza, ma anche delle opere di Clarke, di cui consiglio vivamente anche la raccolta di racconti "La sentinella" pubblicata da Urania, contenente tra gli altri un racconto che sarebbe l'embrione del successivo romanzo "2001".
Detto questo, forse non potrò descrivere Clarke in modo del tutto imparziale dato che sono almeno un pochino di parte, avendone letto circa una decina di opere. Fatto sta che ho gradito molto tutti e quattro questi romanzi, soprattutto lo svolgersi degli eventi correlati a Giove ed Europa tra il secondo ed il terzo. Il quarto si discosta leggermente dagli altri, dato che Clarke sceglie un protagonista davvero inaspettato, ma secondo me azzeccatissimo. Non posso, poi, far altro che ripetere la mia lode per "2001", il primo romanzo, e ripercorrere il sentiero che mi ha portato a conoscere esso ed il suo autore.
Vedere il film di Kubrick è un'esperienza straordinaria, ed il film va forse rivisto più volte allo scopo di farsi un'idea propria di quello che accade su schermo. Il film è ricco di scene e musiche ormai cult, anche se la parte su cui mi sono soffermato di più è stata l'ultima, ovvero "Jupiter and beyond the infinite". Credo che questo sia il "capitolo" del film più strano, criptico, ma anche affascinante, nonché quello più aperto alla speculazione.
Ma, a prescindere da questo, l'ultima parte del film mi incuriosì perché iniziai a chiedermi come l'autore del libro omonimo, per me l'allora sconosciuto Clarke, avesse mai potuto rendere in forma scritta quei momenti finali così ermetici, e se magari ne avesse dato un'effettiva spiegazione (cosa che invece Kubrick nel film volutamente non fa, lasciando molto spazio, come detto, alla speculazione ed interpretazione dello spettatore). Fu così che, dopo essermi fatto un'idea mia ed una mia interpretazione del film, decisi di acquistare su Ebay questa tetralogia. Finii il primo libro in pochi giorni e ne rimasi molto soddisfatto, e più volte rilessi alcune parti, alcune frasi che mi colpirono permanentemente. La trama mi sconvolse (in senso positivo si intende) e, checché se ne dica, quella fu e rimane una delle letture più appassionanti della mia vita. Poco mi ci volle per finire gli altri tre, che amai ognuno a suo modo. Il primo rimase insuperabile, perché fu per me una sorta di colpo di fulmine lungo poco più di 100 pagine, ma posso assicurare che gli altri non fanno semplicemente da contorno, ed ognuno si cala a suo modo in alcune delle più affascinanti tematiche della fantascienza.
La prosa di Clarke è eterogenea: a parti più scientifiche ed analitiche si alternano altre parti che sono proprio intrise di bellezza poetica ed epicità; il tutto funziona benissimo, lo stile è molto piacevole a mio avviso, ed ovviamente il merito va anche ai traduttori, non ne dubito. Ci sono poi certe immagini e certi avvenimenti in questi libri che non potrò mai dimenticare per tutta la vita tanto sono impressi nella mia memoria, e a ripensarli ho talvolta ancora - letteralmente - la pelle d'oca. Per questo credo che il titolo "Odissea" non sia affatto casuale, in quanto rappresenta il viaggio dell'uomo in balia di forze più grandi di lui, che qui sono forze concrete che agiscono su scale che per l'umanità odierna sono sproporzionate e per ora frutto di immaginazione ed, appunto, fantascienza.

Next: the book titled "20 July 2019". I look forward to compare it with what it was in real life (it was my daughter's birthday and we were in Irland visiting Glenveagh park and gardens. Such a beautiful bridge with the past!)

Como alguien entusiasta de la Ciencia, soy una curiosa empedernida, pero también soy consciente que no se puede obtener la respuesta a toda incertidumbre de la vida, no basta el tiempo y si lo bastara, el alcance de la inteligencia humana quizás no sea lo suficiente...narraciones como ésta es un cálido consuelo a los enigmas de la evolución y propósito de la existencia humana, ficticio, pero confortable.

Un clásico de la ciencia ficción para el que no pasa el tiempo

Cuando me embarqué en este viaje de 1096 páginas, jamas creí que iba a disfrutar de esta manera. Hace muchos años intenté ver ‘2001: Una odisea en el espacio’, mi padre siempre me decía que era la mejor película de ciencia ficción que se había hecho, y me pareció tan aburrida que creo que no pasé de la escena de los monos. Lo mío seguía siendo Star Wars. Sin embargo, cuando le comenté a un compañero de trabajo muy lector, que iba a leer la saga, me dijo que para entender la película hay que haber leído antes el libro. Así que, cuando terminé de leer la primera novela de las cuatro que componen este tomo, y que es en la que se basa la peli, no sólo la volví a ver por lo que me había dicho, es que tenía la necesidad de verla. Y, aunque hay momentos que me han parecido demasiado flojos para explicar visualmente las impresionantes descripciones que aporta Arthur C. Clarke, sobre todo en el viaje interior de Bowman en el monolito, sí que es cierto que la película únicamente se entiende si se ha leído el libro, y no resulta tan desconcertante y aburrida.
En general, me han parecido fascinantes las cuatro novelas que componen esta Odisea Espacial. He alucinado con cada momento vivido en esos viajes espaciales a través del Sistema Solar, con el descubrimiento de la ‘vida’ en Júpiter, con los paseos por Europa y su vida efímera, son tantas cosas que no terminaría nunca, y es más bonito descubrirlo por uno mismo.
¿Que si lo recomiendo? Diría que es una novela IMPRESCINDIBLE e INOLVIDABLE ✨
En general, me han parecido fascinantes las cuatro novelas que componen esta Odisea Espacial. Es claramente un referente en la literatura de ciencia-ficción. Es fácil ver lo mucho que ha influenciado a tantos otros escritores del género. El primer y segundo libros son obras maestras que, con sus descripciones tan detalladas, te hacen sentir en el espacio.
Siendo sincero debo reconocer que el tercer y especialmente el cuarto libro no me han gustado tanto a nivel narrativo. El ritmo es distinto, los capítulos son muy cortos y casi parece que sea una reedición de una novela escrita en fasciculos, sin contar con todos todos esos pequeños cambios de guión respecto a los libros anteriores. Aunque el mismo autor explica esto en sus pre y posfacio hay cambios que me han resultado demasiado fuertes (que ha sido de la "copia" de Heywood R. Floyd???). Pese a todo, es justamente en estos dos últimos libros donde se encuentran las reflexiones más interesantes sobre sociedas, psicológica y religión.
Una novela imprescindible.

однако поняла, что мне уже трудно читать некоторого рода литературу: через стекло экологического и феминистского сознания. слишком наивными кажутся картины идиллических взаимоотношений научного прогресса и процветающей природы (которую, впрочем, по-прежнему покоряют - а мы отсюда уже знаем, к чему это приведёт). слишком заносчивыми (пусть я и знаю, что это неспециально, просто не видели тогда других вариантов) - описания женских персонажей (которых, кажется, всего три на тыщу страниц). при встрече с незнакомой цивилизацией мужчина восхищается наукой, женщина - украшениями. при описание экпиажа корабля женщина своими "формами" отвлекает мужчин. ну и на закуску - "ведь давно научно доказано, что мужчина, в отличии от женщины, может делать два дела одновременно". спасибо уж, сэр артур. а так классика, конечно.

Me leí los 4 libros de "Una Odisea espacial" en poco tiempo, ya que vienen todos recopilados en esta edición, y quizás por ello, me di cuenta que copió varios capítulos en el último libro, de libros anteriores.
A parte de eso, se nota que Arthur C. Clarke tenía una gran imaginación y la capacidad de crear novelas muy fáciles de leer. Aunque en algunos momentos, se me hacía difícil imaginar lo que estaba describiendo, debido al lenguaje utilizado.
Aún así, lo recomiendo, pero leería los libros de forma más espaciada. Recomendable, si te gustó la película relacionada con uno de los libros incluidos en esta edición.

La verdad es que tenía bastantes ganas de leer toda la obra del autor sobre el monolito. Pero la verdad es que me ha decepcionado completamente. El primer libro parte con la ventaja de tener el respaldo potentísimo de la película de Stanley Kubrick, pero a partir del segundo todo va cuesta abajo con un último libro que más que un libro podríamos decir que es un relato corto sobre ciencia ficción muy plano y con un final del que ya me olvidado.... No me ha gustado nada, se nota no?

Un clásico y hay que entenderlos como el tipo de ciencia ficción que se escribía en la época. Principalmente, son historias de viajes espaciales, escritas en una época en la que parecía que los sueños de ir al espacio podían empezar a hacerse realidad. Me ha gustado ver como Clarke solventa el desconocimiento de la tecnología del futuro, narrativamente hablando, de una forma maestra, anticipandose acertadamente a su tiempo en ocasiones. Al leerlo en la actualidad te da la sensación de que habla de una realidad paralela que se dividió de la nuestra ¡en los años 80!
No son libros trepidantes, más bien pausados, para disfrutar de cada conversación y sobre todo del espacio. Gracias a ello me he sentido como si estuviera allí, viviendo lo mismo que los protagonistas. Pero sí he echado en falta más profundidad en algunos temas, sobre todo, lo relacionado con Europa en los dos últimos libros.
No son libros trepidantes, más bien pausados, para disfrutar de cada conversación y sobre todo del espacio. Gracias a ello me he sentido como si estuviera allí, viviendo lo mismo que los protagonistas. Pero sí he echado en falta más profundidad en algunos temas, sobre todo, lo relacionado con Europa en los dos últimos libros.

A Sci-Fi Masterpiece if it wasn’t for two flaws and “The Final Odyssey”!
As it is four books in one, in detail I would rate them as follows:
2001: A Space Odyssey -> Five stars
2010: Odyssey Two -> Four stars
2061: Odyssey Three -> Four stars
3001: The Final Odyssey -> Two stars
The last book was unfortunately much worse than the others. It got started of with a very unbelievable event and then the whole time barely anything happened apart from getting to know some very odd and too bizarre items, having some augmented reality like moments and a lot of talking (the whole fourth part is incredibly dialogue heavy - the author doesn’t describe the action and events and instead lets the characters talk or send messages about what happened) especially about religion, god and human errors. Apart from some little ideas I didn’t like it at all.
The first three stories are another story. So much better with interesting ideas, a little bit of science here and there and a general feeling of a space adventure. It was well written and as a reader you really felt like following the characters on their journey through our solar system. Especially the pacing was superb. The story was constantly going forward with little but sensible time jumps and without ever getting too fast.
I have read somewhere that 2001: A Space Odyssey is often regarded as the mother of all Science Fiction stories. And I tend to agree: When you read it you come across many aspects that were later borrowed or adapted by other Sci-Fi novels, films and shows.
So if you like Science Fiction it’s almost an obligation to read at least the first book.
But unfortunately there are two big flaws with these fours books that really annoyed me:
First there is a lot of discontinuity. When you read them back to back you will get really confused when starting the second book. There they recall and remember events from the first book, but nothing is as it was. People have supposedly said and done things they never said and did in the first book. And the biggest change was the location of the main event, which according to the second book took place somewhere completely else than how it was written in the first book. I really wanted to scream at my book: “I just read this two days ago and this is not how it happened!” And there are more minor discontinuities in the later books. It was really frustrating and pulled me several times out of the reading flow.
The other flaw is the repetition and recycling of text. Many times the author did literally “copy and paste” and used the same paragraphs he did in an earlier book (or sometimes even within the same book). And it’s not only paragraphs. I think the longest was six or seven entire pages he put in there again word by word. This was really annoying and I wanted to shout “Yes, I know all of that because I already read it. Those exact words! Please tell me something new!” I think one of the text passages was used, without any changes in wording, a full four times. Very annoying!
But overall at least the first three books were worth reading!

Onestamente vale la pena di leggere solo il primo, quello da cui fu tratto il celeberrimo film di Kubrick. Gli altri sono derivazioni, pallidi riflessi di un autore che sembra sia stato motivato più dall'introito che dall'ispirazione.
