There's only one rule on the road: guard your heart and don't let the boys in...
I've left my life behind, and I could never be happier. All I ever wanted was to make my own way in the world, free from my father's shadow, my mother's betrayal, the scrutiny of a public that just wants to see me fail, and, most of all, free from them.
Benji. Asher. Ethan. Jace. Four guys who I never wanted to trust to begin with. Four guys that I let into my heart. Four guys who ripped it right out. The last time I saw them, there were screaming fights and they told me exactly how they'd taken the dreams I'd trusted them with and torched them.
So I ran. I ran and took the first chance for escape out of my platinum cage. I'm free now, with people who like me for me, not who my family is.
And I'm protecting my heart. I'm on tour with a huge band, and I've sworn off guys altogether. It's great. It's perfect.
Or is it?
Because just when I'm getting the air back in my lungs, something comes along that threatens to knock me down again. Four someones, to be exact...
And I don't know if I'm going to be able stand firm against them. I'm terrified of what will happen if I let them in again. And I'm terrified what will happen... if I don't.
KT Strange is a reverse harem romance author from the Great White North. After spending ten years in the music scene, babysitting drunk rock-stars, she’s finally read to settle down (somewhat) and write a few good books inspired by her life on the road with bands.
I really like the story. I do, but the consistency in the writing is lacking. It was almost like the writing got worse the further into the story we got. The first book had a lot of grammatical errors and typically those get better the more the author writes, but somehow they have gotten worse. Editors and betas should have caught the majority of these mistakes. If the next book is like this it will probably be the last time I read this author.
The storyline, plot and characters are all well developed and written. I finished the book in three hours.
My only con is that there seems to be at least one word missing from one sentence on every page. Towards the end, there was significantly more, making me have to go back and reread the same sentence a few times.
It won't stop me from reading the next book in the series, but re-editing is something to consider.
This book was definitely worth the wait. Yes I had to binge read it, I could not put it down. The ups and downs of Haze and her boys renders at your heart strings and leaves you wanting more. Jace, Benji, Ethan and Asher have so many issues to deal with and they can't seem to get it right but you still have to love them for trying. The fact that Darcey and her men are in this story is an added bonus, who doesn't love Phoenixcry? This series so far has been amazing. KT Strange has done another amazing series with this one. Can't wait fof the third book. Bloody cliffhangers 😉.
The characters in this book are so not perfect that it is perfect. The author makes it work. Im always torn as to whether certain characters need my feelings. Some come off spoiled and self righteous and bratty. And they make all the bad decisions. But the best part is that they are not alone and it seems perfectly natural and they mesh together really well. It helps loads that the author has the guys from Phoenixcry, her other series, in this book as well as they are some of the best created characters of all time and always make me grin.
I really missed Haze and co so reading this book was a dream I read it in one day.
What an emotional journey this book takes you on.
The author’s dedication to her musical industry past and all the little details make you believe your there and witnessing this all going down and. It just reading it.
Haze just can’t seem to have any peace of happiness or so it seems. Want to know more? Read this book today. You need to have read book one first
I love Haisley’s story and that’s truly what it is, her story. She is growing and changing and the guys are either going to grow with her or be left behind. I love that this is now a trilogy because the more I got into the book, the more I felt that there was still so much for Kit to tell. Can’t wait for book three but definitely going to be rereading books one and two so that I can go back and savor them.
Can you just slap benji for me please!!?? I just want these characters to grow up and chill. I know they are young and dumb but I just want to shake the main characters. Great story. Full of drama and bad decisions. The only real complaint is that she caved way to easily which set her up for more crap, esp from benji. Ahhh can’t wait for the last one though!!
I was super excited for this book to come out and see the continuation of Haze’s story! It was a great read and it was nice to see the book start right back up from where book 1 ended. I definitely don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that Jace is totally my favorite and I cannot wait to see what happens in book 3!
Those guys are absolute idiots and they all need Intense therapy for what their families have done to them because wow. And I can’t believe her mother is with Jay like why why is she the way she is her mom is horrible her dad’s horrible that poor girl had no hope but thanks to Phoenixcry and Darcy she’s getting a little better. That ending 🤯
This was an amazing addition to the series. Poor Haze just can't catch a break. The cliffhanger was killer. I can't wait for the next book. I do wish it was a little bit longer it seemed to go too fast.
Glad she has Jace but that ending hits you hard. Was not expecting that to happen and we all know the boys will says yes....because it wouldn't be a great story if they didnt.
I had no idea this had become a trilogy, and im so damn excited! I have loved haze from the start, and I hope the guys do some grovelling! I love Jace, he's always been my baby. Can't wait to see the finale!!!
I’m very much hooked on this series. Poor Haze. Her parents can fuck off. And Benji needs to realize what’s more important. He needs to pick his priorities.
Thoroughly recommend this author. All her series have strong characters & detailed plots. Genuinely cant put them down until I finish all the available books.
So I absolutely adored the first book in this series, the emotion in Antibullies was just…heartbreakingly beautiful and well written - so it was a high bar set. This one, while good, didn’t quite meet that bar for me. It wasn’t one thing in particular, just that this one felt a little rushed, some details glossed over, a feeling of some things missing. Nothing big or major, and definitely nothing to turn me off of the book/series, but just enough to make a difference, to make me take notice. Still an overall good read and I’ll absolutely be continuing the series.
Kit knows how to rip your heart out and stomp on it but then goes and glues it back together by offering you exactly what you want from the characters and storyline! . . . Side note - That scene with Jace and Haze together at the end of the book makes my heart happy ❤️........(Kit, please don’t kill off my favourite male character in book 3!)
