The conflict with the wicked god has come to an end, and Touya now presides over a unified planet. Peace may yet return to the world, but it's still far from paradise! Touya must resolve a centuries-long misunderstanding between two feuding nations, deal with a new matter of interest in the divine realm, and handle whatever small national matters come his way, all while planning for his long-awaited weddings! Sit back and relax before a story of swords, sorcery, and political intrigue!
So I started this series with the anime and really enjoy it and I hoped there would be another season then I got to wondering if it came out as book first so I checked my kindle and found the series I have been reading the book sense the beginning and have enjoyed every volume
Touya is preparing a wedding, which under normal circumstances is work enough, but considering the number of wives and the guest list offers its own challenges. In addition, his wives go out on an adventure of their own both to do some good and as a bit of a slap on Touya's wrist that he is being a bit too protective. It is a fun and typical read for the series. There is one thing though that leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. The punishment of the main villain is a big no in my book, both because R should never be a punishment in stories like this (let alone as a kind of joke) and due to the homophobic undercurrent in how it is depicted (not entirely new in the series). It is not even a page, nothing more then alluded to, and can easily be ignored, but still...
When we first met the fiancées, especially Linze & Elize in vol 1 we had no idea that they'd go from slightly frightened actors selling a crystal deer horn on a side street to them and their 7 fellow-wives destroying the ultimate misogynist. Fun volume that feels like a great checkpoint to their amazing growth. Fun volume even with little Toyua.
Enjoyable and thoughtful, I especially like the story of the wife's adventure. The story is progressing in such a manner that you are hoping the next volume was realised.
Fantastic read! I absolutely love the development of the main character, and the humor the main character projected! I cant wait for the next book to come out!!
