One last trip to Five Island Cove...this time to face a fresh future and leave all the secrets and fears in the past.
Kelli is ready to make memories with her son in the house where she grew up. It needs a lot of work, but with the sunlight coming through the colorful stained glass windows, she's confident she can do it. When she gets way over her head, she calls the people who she can rely on for anything.
Eloise is only a week away from tying the knot, but she shows up at the house on Seabreeze Shore with sandpaper and her fiancé's power tools. They get to work, only to find Kelli's father's will underneath a floorboard. What's really in the will changes everything for Kelli and her mother.
Alice, Robin, and AJ arrive just in time to help Kelli and Eloise decide what to do next. At least until the storm warning comes, and they all have to hunker down in a house that has very little food and not enough beds for everyone. As they worry about their loved ones, their bonds of friendship will be tested one more time, when one more devastating secret comes to light...
...all within the walls of the house on Seabreeze Shore.
Join best friends Robin, Alice, Eloise, Kelli, and AJ as they learn about themselves, strengthen their bonds of friendship, and learn what it truly means to survive.
The story continues for the women of the cove. I still wish the author would write a recap at the beginning of every book. I feel lost at times trying to keep everyone straight. The book was good, but I am starting to feel like they all follow the same pattern. Some drama, some happy endings, some big family secret in the middle that causes people to doubt each other. I feel like I skimmed this one more than the last one as parts were drug out. However, I do feel warm fuzzies with these women when they are happy, and feel like part of the group.

THE HOUSE ON SEABREEZE SHORE is the fifth book in the FIVE ISLAND COVE series and I'm looking forward to the sixth book, FOUR WEDDINGS AND A BABY. It was awesome to be reunited with all the friends and families we've met before, some new ones too, new relationships, new careers and even homes. There are so many storylines and they thread together seamlessly. We pick up many of the stories that we've visited before and start new ones too. There is love in the air as well as secrets, hormones, sadness, arguments, tears, laughter, romance, loving and love.
I love the depth of the characters and that it's a multigenerational story with the women's parents, siblings and children playing an important role in the telling of the tale as well. The descriptions often made me feel like I was there. I could taste the food. There was a vibrancy and a vividness in the telling of the story. It was nice to see the friends all getting on with their lives even if most of them never expected to be where they are today. There was a nice flow and some closure but the book ended too abruptly for me. There were some happily ever afters in the offing
Ms. Newton is an author whose books I've enjoyed in this series. I can't wait to read more.

I rated it 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
This is book five in The Five Islands Cove Series and it continues the five best friends as they are continuing there journey of life. AJ, Eloise, Robin, Kelli and Alice are all together again to help Kelli get the house where she grew up in decorated as it needs a lot of work but as usual they are all lending a hand but things don't always go as planned as more secrets are read but how will effect them. These friends are always there for each other regardless even when they occasionally wonder what is going on as things keep resurfacing but they always get there in the end. The characters and storyline pulls you in right from the first page and keeps you on your toes and I really enjoyed reading this story. Remember that this is not a standalone book and you will need to read from book one to get all the background history but it is definitely worth reading.

I absolutely love these women. The secrets, the love, the honesty; a great continuation to the story of the 7 ladies. I must have missed one, because they talked a lot about a tsunami that I don’t remember and will be going back to check out. In this book Kelli gets closure about her dad that starts the healing with her mom and sisters, but creates a rift with AJ. of course, all works out for now. I absolutely recommend this series to anyone who loves stories with hear, friendships and family that are not perfect, but are all trying to be better.

This book was so full of secrets, surprises, and mysteries that I found myself quickly reading to find out what was going to happen next. I really emjoyed how everything came to light and how Kelli would finally be able to quit her job and open up her very own yoga studio and wellness center in her childhood home. I also liked that this might help her mom and sisters deal with their past and finally move on from it.
I also liked all of the friendships Kelli had and how everyone pulled together for her. It was fun watching each of them grow and find love. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Kelli is finally taking steps to take back control of her life including the house she kept secret from everyone including her mother, however of course nothing is that simple as just her luck she finds something of her fathers. Kelli isn't the only one with exciting or worrisome things happening we have new boyfriends, break ups, health scares, money issues, thoughts of moving and more secrets uncovered. At times I don't know how these ladies get through everything but when you see the bonds they have with each other you know why they can.

Book 5 it's nearly a year since the girls returned to the cove when Joel died.secrets shared more mysteries unfold. I find them very naive sometimes kelli comes into money and Chad is all over her? Plus how fast did he grab that file? Plus all that her and her friends have seen with family and friends cheating etc you would think she would be smarter (after all she is 45 not 20) at least skittish to trust. Still unsure how guy lost the glassworks? He was talented got lots of work,he lost it then went into blackmail (well that's what was said) but he was blackmailing Sidney when he was still working? There is a few name spelling errors.
Such a great series about a group of women who were close friends, 4 are coming home, and trying to rekindle friendships of the past. This series follows a group of middle aged women who four of whom come back to where they grew up but left years ago because of various reasons. You will see throughout this series that their personal and family lives are not going well. Coming home again is exactly what they need to find happiness. There are a lot of roadblocks they have to face but if they can stick together they can overcome anything. A series that I can’t stop reading since picking up the first book.
Another suspenseful read from the pen of Jessie Newton. The narrative at the opening threw me off, but as I read further into the novel the plot unfolded. So many secrets, so many surprises but Kelli finding a way to live her dream, in the house she grew up in, despite the awful memories it held for her mother who doesn't want anything to do with the property, is inspiring seems to be the catalyst to healing for everyone concerned. The secondary cast of characters also lends credibility to this novel.

A wonderfully written story you're easily swept up in as you start turning the pages. It flows smoothly from page to page and it holds your interest until you reach the end. The characters are so well developed you feel like you've known them for years. A great series to have in your reading list.

I continue to enjoy these interesting and intelligent women and watching them work through their lives. This is book 5 in the series and as I've said before I wish I had people in my life I could count on the way these women are there for each other. They have all grown and found what is important. I will say that they do tend to overshare. I definitely would never tell anyone if I found money in a house I owned....might or might not share it but if I decided not to share no one would know so no problem....maybe that's why I don't have a lot of close friends. hehehe.
Another wonderful story about the five high school best friends. They have now added a sixth, younger woman to their group. And, of course, the woman who started the group leading the Seafaring Club, Kristen - who is like a mother to all the women. This story revolves around Kelli, the one who worries about everything. Her life has taken quite a change and she's learned things about her father than she never knew. But what I love the most is how these women all support one another through their trial! I wish I had friends like that.
I really enjoyed reading this story, as it adds more details about the girl´s relationships, their past and how they see and work towards their future. They have to overcome a series of bumps and problems in their lives, and that involves opening their souls bare, crying and ending everything with a renewed and stronger friendship. Easy to relate with anyone´s life, easy to read and entertaining!

Another great seafaring girls book. This book has so many emotions. I feel like i am one of the girls. I can't wait to live their joys, disappointments, disagreements, excitements, and so much more. The characters have grown and developed in a good way. The books move along with good detail that leaves you wanting more. I definitely recommend.
There are 6 or 7 characters who take a chapter and run with it. The author knows how to write engaging characters in small town settings. Lots of loose ends are tied up. I'm not sure there was one main character in this story, mostly it's about a group of high school friends who meet years later. I will read more in the series and by the author.
Another great addition to this series. Once again, we are provided with well written, endearing characters and a story line that is engaging. I will admit that I had to do a quick skim of the previous books to catch myself back up so I wasn't lost on who is who and what is going on.

The fifth book in the Five Island Cove series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Alice, AJ, Kelli, Robin, Kristen, Eloise, and Laurel are moving on with their lifes in this one Kelli gets a surprise to do with her deceased Father. I want to read the next book. Love the way Jessie teaches a lesson on doing what is right when the treasure is uncovered
Settled in & started this book and just like the 4 previous books had a hard time putting this down, the bonds between these ladies and their connection to the Cove is what keeps this series so interesting
As some of our characters and now friends begin building their lives on the islands, we find out what kept them there or made them leave. From a new bed and breakfast, to a new boat, a new fitness center and to new relationships this book fills you to the brim. The best yet in the series.
These seven women are an amazing group of people. They may not solve the problems of the world but they learn how to come together and solve their own real world problems. I love this series. The setbacks, the advances, the laughter and the tears. Oh, to have a true set of friends like these!
Book 5 was just as good as the previous books In the series. Secrets are revealed and friendships are tested. It all works out in the end and has a happy ending. I like how at the end of each book it has sample chapters of the next book in the series. I look forward to reading Book 6 which is the last one in the series..
This series feels like hometown anywhere with roots in family backyards that go over fences and out into the nearby woods and back. I love hanging out with this series!
I feel when you read these books in this series you get a feeling of belonging, of home. I love all these girls like they were my best friends! I can't wait for all the weddings and the baby! Great job Jessie Newton!
I enjoy reading ocean books, grew up on an island. Enjoy reading woman who have stayed friends . each friend has there own problems to solve. Kept me reading
Cannot get enough of these women - and they finally found the will from Kelli's father and what a place to leave it!!! Suspense and adventure, this book has it all, especially friendship that lasts a lifetime, which is priceless. On to the next one!!!
True caring and empathy in five women so different from each other but forming a sisterhood. Some intrusion, some bickering but in the end tears, hugs and forgiveness!
I have been hooked on these books from the beginning and can't wait for the next one I am amazed at how real these women seem to be and would love to live where they do
As more and more secrets come to light, the women are overwhelmed. This is never good and words are said without being thought through. Can they survive another ambush of the heart?~
