I'm reading these in order (this is a series I'd say you have to, you'd be able to follow the main theme but not the little side themes otherwise) and this has been my least favorite so far. A combination of internally gagging at the criminal they're chasing with a combination of bad similes- ie naked as the day he was born but going on to talk about how he's aging. If it was meant for juxtaposition, it just didn't work. The best part was the side story involving her mother.
I'll continue to read them in hopes they go back to what they were.

This book finds a serial killer with a strange MO crisscrossing the country’s to find his latest victims. Adele is on a quest to find her mother’s murderer from her childhood. She’s not on good standing with her higher ups and her mentor is going downhill. She is falling apart. Her partner John tries to keep her on course in the investigation. She figures out what makes the killer tick. But can she narrow down all the parameters before he kills again? It looks like she make have opened Pandora’s Box back in France by the time they find the strange killer a new/old case that will definitely hit home comes back to open old wounds. Excellent book. You would have to realize with Adele going off the reservation and stirring up the hornets nest that she would draw attention to her Mother’s Killer. I can’t wait for the next book! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review given above.
Adele Sharp is definitely the investigator, and her expertise is definitely needed because the murders take place in Germany, France and USA in California. The murderer suspect is draining his victims of their blood. Adele and John, her partner who is an Agent in Paris and her friend. Adele is the liaison for Interpol because she was raised in Paris and her father lives in Germany, and she was living in the USA before they offered her the job. She and her partner Agent John have a love hate relationship and this suspect has them chasing one bad lead after another. But we know eventually because Adele never gives up, she and her partner find out who is murdering these people. It is a good book. I am a Blake Pierce fan and so Adele is one of my favorite series. I love Jessie Hunt and have several others I have read because Blake knows how to write a good mystery, or suspense thriller. Read an Adele Sharp Mystery and see if you will love it as much as I do.
I am loving the Adele Sharp series, and Blake Pierce has managed to hold me to his narration so far.
In this 5th instalment of Adelle Sharp, the author addresses a vampiric serial killer themed. A woman is found dead in Bordeaux, murdered against the backdrop of its idyllic wine country, and authorities suspect a connection to a similar murder in Italy—and an active serial killer. FBI Special Agent Adele Sharp, triple agent of the U.S., France and Germany, is called in, the only one with the international expertise—and brilliant mind—to piece it all together.
Adele enters the dark canals of the killer’s mind, finding clues where others do not, and feels confident she can catch him before he kills again. And as this is going on, Adele is still looking for her mother's killer.
Struggling to Like Her I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure why I keep coming back to this series. I just can't seem to fully embrace Adele Sharp for some reason. She and her French counterpart, Jean are both prickly, reactionary, and prone to dive in without looking. Sure, she's smart, and good at her job. But all of her act first/think later moments just don't sit well with me.
The story itself was pretty good. Definitely a mind-twister. But it just seemed to have a few places that weren't as tightly written as the previous stories. If you're new to the series, I wouldn't recommend this one as a stand-alone. I think it's possible, but there would be some depth missing if the reader were not previously familiar with the characters.
So this time around Adele is making some progress in her mother’s death and the killer she seem to have hit another snag. In the process there is a killer draining peoples blood and so she end up having to go back to America with John. John and Adele are also making progress within their relationship and admitting that they do like each other. I have to say this book was not as amusing as the other books. The killer and the person that she’s supposed to catch was an interesting storyline but I found myself drifting sometimes. I am really ready to find out who killed her mother. There is a bit of Robert mentioned in the end and you’ll just have to read the book to find out. I do have to say I do enjoy Robert as a character/mentor/dad figure.
At the same time, Adele works in the cases given to her by DGSI, she keeps on looking for clues to find her mother´s killer, and in this book, she seems to be getting nearer to the culprit. Will she be able to find him? Her cases make her travel through Europe and she ends up in the United States following the killer. She has a moment of intimacy with her French partner, John, although both have already been warned by their boss that they should not pursue any kind of relationship out of work. Will they be able to be only friends and professional partners? Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
I’ve been reading through this series and they are easy to read and can be quite enjoyable as surface reading. This book in particular had so much promise, the villain was interesting, and the hunt was exciting but the end wasn’t fleshed out very well, it almost seemed rushed. The use of the word wince got to me after a while too. I had to put down the book many times because I was sick of everyone wincing. Overall ok read. Will continue the series
While I am angry regarding Robert’s health, sad is more likely, I’m in love with these characters. The way the relationship has played pit between Adele and John has been immensely satisfying. Can’t wait for the next book.
Loved this Book 5 of the Adele Sharp series. Changing dynamics combined with some personal influences have Adele a different kind of edge this time. On to number 6. This is a wonderful series with great characters. I highly recommend
Another exciting story. I read for hours at a time in a hurry to find out more. Really enjoyed this book but downloading the next one now. I hope I can put it down. I'm exhausted from this one.
Another well written and developed story! I really enjoyed reading this book. I especially like how the stories move locations. I look forward to the next book in the very!
