Jace Marlon’s best friend is dead, killed by a man as mysterious as Jace’s past.
Forced to trust Detectives Daniels and Remalla, who suggest the motive for the murder is more elusive than the killer, Jace must face a truth he can no longer avoid.

Confronting his troubled youth and confused by the unique abilities he’s been reluctant to accept, Jace has no choice but to ask for help, and finds an unexpected ally in a tarot reader whose assistance could lead to more than friendship and whose readings may provide the link to the secrets he must uncover. But her involvement could risk her life, and the lives of the detectives.

With an uncatchable killer at large, Jace must choose between revenge and answers. And the survival of those he befriends will depend on a quirky woman with chunky jewelry, those he must learn to trust, and the one thing he never knew existed…family.

Third Blow is book three in "The Family or Foe Saga" series, featuring Detectives Daniels and Remalla. It can be read on its own, but is best read after First Cut and Second Slice.

J.T. Bishop

Award-winning author, J.T. Bishop, is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.

She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.

All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

So, the third book in the series and just as good as the other two. This author certainly knows how to write a good thriller that’s for sure. Where will they go next I wonder. Roll on book four. Highly recommended.

So this one is probably my favourite of the three I’ve read so far. I feel like all the characters felt rounded, none were annoying or self-centred (other than the killer) and it made for a great read!

We’re back with Detectives Daniels and Remalla but originally they’re not on the case of a murder and attempted murder until they realise it all links back The Makeup Artist.

I enjoyed the supernatural aspect a lot more in this one because of the use of tarot cards making it seem more realistic- although the main character of this one can heal people with his touch. I prefer that to throwing things with their minds.

This case was much more interesting considering there was a survivor- it proves to the detectives that their main suspect was not working alone.

He’s enlisted help.

But he’s also helping them?

The finale was very dramatic and I actually got very very worried that someone actually might get dropped off a building. The other killer was very petty with why he was doing what he was doing.

Which goes to show that you can’t always think you know someone.

I really liked this one and I’m looking forward to finishing the series and seeing how it all wraps up!

another great read

Bishop continues to pull me in with her suspense and mystery with Third Blow. New characters and more drama. I love the relationships between the detectives and how they stop at nothing to help solve the case. I’m looking forward to book fourth.

Detectives Daniel and Rem are back. Just can't get enough of these two. Love the interaction between them. This one is a page turner.

The name Jace has turned up and Daniel and Rem were actively trying to find him. Two other detectives have been assigned Jace's case, but Daniel and Rem know that have to find out what is going on as the elusive Rupert mentioned his name as the next one he was going to stalk and find!

Jace was orphaned when he was small and never knew anyone that wanted to take him in. But, he didn't let that stop him. He now owns a bar, has friends and just hired a tarot reading bartender, Danni.

Now Jace's world has crumpled his best friend, Jason, just called and is in trouble. When Jace rushes over there, he never expected to find his friend laying in a pool of blood and his girlfriend with him.

This one keeps you turning the pages and a great, fun and thrilling read.

Author J.T. Bishop keeps me guessing and wanting more. One of the best compliments I can give any writer. "Third Blow" is book 3 in the "A Family or Foe Thriller with Detectives Daniels and Remalla." The suspense is building. What does Jace, a bar owner, have in common with Jill, a former Seattle detective (book 1), and Madison, an artist (book 2)? More importantly, what's the link with the murder of Jace's best friend by the mysterious Rudger with the other murders? And once again, what does the illusive Sonia know of their histories that she's keeping secret?

It's all coming to a powerful conclusion, and I can hardly wait to read "The Fourth Strike."

Third Blow was awesome!
It seems like each book in this series just gets better and better and more addicting, to the point that I can’t wait until I read the next book.
So it’s going to be a big HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read the first two books then I highly suggest that you do that way you get to know the main characters better.

And so it continues....

This series continues with a unique edginess that does not stop. The main characters compatibility is like no other. Their banter, the way they interact and finishing the others thoughts. I am truly enjoying the detective side of things mixed with the weird world of the paranormal. Looking forward to book 4 in hopes of getting more pieces of this unique puzzle.

I loved Third Blow, the third book in this series of four. You can read it as a stand alone but encourage you to read the first two novels if you have not already done so. I was hooked from the first book and each one in the series creates a more complex story. The characters and the plot are complex and outstanding and I am eagerly awaiting the fourth and final book in the series.

Great Series

Loved the fast pace and well- formed characters. A great read for those who love mystery mixed with the paranormal.
Gave 4 instead of 5 stars for the number of typos, especially towards the end.
