Rosavia Royals #5

A bratty boy prince needs: a firm but fair Daddy.

Prince Renford is a royal brat. Nineteen and last in line for the throne, Wren hates his made-up job: Commander of Roses. Good thing his long-time valet has a firm hand—if only Wren could tempt him to break all palace protocol and use it.

Thom Pierce is sixteen years older. Old enough to know he should ignore his prince's less-than-subtle flirtation. He's been burned by a higher-ranked boy before. His job and reputation are at stake if the palace catches a scandal unfolding under their noses.

Wren needs the part of Thom that he's kept locked away for years. If the young prince wants to be taken as seriously as his older brothers, he has to grow up fast. Thom's rules could help Wren become the man Thom knows he can be in time for the Royal Ball... or they could attract the very attention that forces them apart forever.

Welcome to the tiny European country of Rosavia, where roses ramble over alpine slopes and princes fall for the men of their dreams. Every Rosavia Royals book happens simultaneously, so books can be read on their own, or in any order... but keep an eye out for familiar faces around the palace!

100+ stars audio!!!!!! So in love with Kieran Flitton's distinctive voices!!!! If not for his stellar performance I would've DNF'd this disappointing story! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
2 stars story. I hate daddy/boy kink, spanking and long drawn out sex scenes.

I loved this last installment in the Rosavia Royals series. E. Davies is a go to author for me. I have loved almost everything I've read written by him and this one screamed of the authors best work.

I'm just sad it's over.

Full review to come when I'm feeling better.

Low angst, m/m romance, HEA, friends(ish) to lovers, daddy/boy kink.

Characters:
Wren/Renford - youngest prince. More street smart than book smart. Brattiest brat to ever brat.
Thom Pierce - valet to the youngest prince for the last 10 years. Ex-army, meticulous.

Plot: Wren, the youngest prince is finally ready to take on his royal responsibilities now that he has reached the proper age. Like most teenagers, he doesn't like the responsibility and instead focuses on how to get his valet, Thom, to notice him in a different way. A romantic way. However, Thom has been trying very hard to not notice how much his prince has grown.

Opinion: this story is fluffy and sweet but it was almost a bit lack luster. It went by like a comfort movie would. In the background without me even really noticing. I didn't get the NEED to see what happened next. There was no anxiety of the "will they won't they". Very low to little angst which would be fine but I happen to enjoy some angst. I felt Wren was being a brat and poking Thom until Thom really had no choice but to acknowledge him which gives me bad vibes. It all worked out in the end but I struggled to even get through it. If you want something light and fluffy here ya go.

Now that I’ve reached the final book of the series, I’m finding it hard to decide which has been my favorite. I must say though that Barely Regal does have an bit of an edge not just for the off-limits romance between the youngest prince, Wren, and his valet, Thom, not just for the age gap romance, and not just for the Daddy/boy relationship with a bit of kink thrown in. It’s for all of those aspects put together.

Both Wren and Thom have been attracted to each other for a while. Thom though is very conscious of his place in the royal household, and his duty comes first. Then there’s Wren, and his insistent pushing…and pushing…and pushing with his bratty, deliberate behavior. Wren’s tired of waiting and hoping, and is working now to spark something into happening. Someone needs to get him in line, and you know exactly who it will be.

Wren’s character goes through plenty of growth in this story—not just with his relationship with Thom, which does center him and increase his patience, but also with how he’s finding his place within the family and his royal duties.

As for that relationship with Thom? their characters do complement each other, and Thom is exactly what Wren needs to settle him down. If one of the ways in which he does so is through discipline and training (read: spankings and light BDSM), all the better for us readers ;-)

4.5 stars for Barely Regal…my only regret with this story is that a certain nosy so-called reporter doesn’t get quite what she truly deserves at the royal ball—I was really hoping for something more profound. Maybe painful. And embarrassing (for her). Ah, well…this is still a fantastic read and as with the other stories in the series it is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Overall, the Rosavia Royals series hasn't been what I was hoping. Most of the books were too slow and uninteresting to get my attention. But, with this being an E Davies book, I was certainly hoping to fall in love with it. And fall in love, I did!

Barely Regal is a sweet age gap romance between Wren and his older valet, Tom. Their tale includes lots of flirting, tension, and want. And plenty of obstacles to overcome, including the forbidden romance issue.

This is a precious tale of two men who perfectly compliment one another. Wren needs a Daddy and Tom needs a boy. And together, they just fit.

The dynamic between the two is fabulous, with the tension in this slow burn romance jumping of the pages. And damn, Wren and Tom are hot and steamy together.

This royal romance includes plenty of steamy sexual exploration including some bondage and rope play. But, in the end, it's the way Wren discovers more about himself, and finds his place in life, that is the highlight of this tale.

Written in alternating third person pov, the author brings the reader into the feelings of both men, bringing us up close to the tension, desires, and romance.

Barely Regal is well worth a read the next time you are looking for a royal romance fix. E Davies will not disappoint in this combo of age gap, kink, and family issues. It's sweet, it's hot, and it has a whole lot of beautiful character growth.

Unfortunately, this book just wasn’t as good as the first book in the series. I just didn’t feel the connection between Thom and Wren that I did Leo and Edvin. It also lacked the charm of the first book. Then there was the Daddy/boy dynamic between the two MCs which just isn’t my thing. I ended up skipping large portions of the book. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointment.

I saw a lotta mixed reviews about this and I thought I should check em out and see what the fuss is all about 😅
The audio was good and I loved the way the narrator brought the characters to life... Will prolly check out the narrator's works later.

This is definitely a royal mess in the best way possible. Prince Wren is your classic, arrogant little prince—young, spoiled, and ready to stir up trouble. And Thom? The older, grumpy valet with a soft spot for him? It’s like watching a slow burn with a ton of “I shouldn’t, but I can’t help it” vibes. The chemistry between these two is hotter than a summer day in the palace—pure tension, banter, and steamy moments you’ll be low-key obsessed with. Plus, the power imbalance between them? It adds a level of forbidden fruit that you just can’t resist.

But, honey, don’t get too lost in the heat. The age gap and power dynamics can definitely make you raise an eyebrow. I do like a good age gap but why couldn't wren be I dunno up to twenty or twenty one. I feel like he was way too young 😭 but whatever
We’ve got an older guy with a history of getting burned by powerful people, and a prince who thinks he can rule with a smirk. Some readers will find that tricky, especially when the drama gets a little too convenient, with insta-love and plot twists that feel like they’re just there for the shock value. And let’s be real—the pacing? It’s a bit of a drag at times, stretching certain moments way longer than they need to be. Get to the good stuff, already!
If you’re into steamy royal drama, Barely Regal might just hit the spot. But if you’re not a fan of questionable power dynamics or slow-burn tension that feels like it takes forever to explode? You might wanna skip this one. It’s got its charm, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

This has been quite a journey of love! What with five gorgeous, kindhearted, caring and “just-as-human-as-you-and-me” siblings trying to find their other halves while being in the center of it all. Being a Prince has its perks and also its disadvantages/inconveniences, if you may call it that! Being scrutinized for every action made is one of those inconveniences. Not being able to live freely is another big disadvantage.

Being the youngest in the brood of five, he is able to get away with a lot. Some might say he is a brat, but not everyone knows the real him, and age has nothing to do with it. But he is determined to show everyone that despite his age, he is someone of significance, and not just a figurehead. He knows he does not do well in school, but he knows he will excel in other areas.

Attending to the needs of the young prince has put him in a position to learn the real person behind the outer persona. Because sometimes what you see outside is a little far off from the real person inside. A little discipline also goes a long way in order to put the prince on the right path, like that of a Daddy and his boy!

A story with Age Gap/Daddy-Boy/Dom-sub dynamic, family, brothers, and a multiple number of cats. Very sweet! Congratulations to all the authors of this collection, amazing stories of love and acceptance just in time for PRIDE month!

I really enjoyed this book! I love the two main characters and the world building. This is the second book I've read by E. Davies and I really liked his writing style, and there was some quotes that stuck with me.

The love story was amazing, slow burn without being too slow, and you could really see how much they cared for each other. The Daddy/Boy dynamic was really well written, but I would have liked it if he called him Daddy a bit more ;) Otherwise I don't really have any complaints. The characters were well written and I didn't really wanted the book to end. One of those books you feel that you can read about the main couple doing mundae things and it would still be worth reading. I loved reading about Wren maturing and thriving, both with his assignment with the roses and his relationship with Thom. It was absolutely beautiful, the way they both found home with each other.

I love the concept of five royal brothers and five different authors writing about them. The little we got to see of the other brothers in this book definitely made me curious about them and made me want to read the others books in the series.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars! I think this is my favorite of this series! (Although, I do have two more to read). I just absolutely adored Wren and Thom and thought they were so perfect together. This story is a little more riskay than the others, there’s a large age gap (and Thom has taken care of Wren for a lot of his life), there’s some (in my opinion) light bdsm elements, and there’s daddy kink; and while some of these often don’t work for me, it just fit perfectly here. Since this was the last of the series, I do wish we had a more extended epilogue, but that’s a very minor complaint. If I can give one piece of advice: listen to this on audio! Kieran Flitton is just so incredibly talented, and I’m not sure I’d have enjoyed this nearly as much if I hadn’t listened to him read it.

So, I'll admit that this is the 1st Rosavia Royal book that I wrote, because E. Davies is one of my favorite authors, and the Daddy/boy theme is so much fun to read. I know that each of these books can be read as a standalone, but now I want to get all the books and read about all the brothers and their true loves! Wren, excuse me Prince Renford, is such a brat, and he's almost perfect and I giggled a lot while reading about his antics. I figured that it would take a special Daddy such as Thom to make him see how special he was, and how much more they each could be together. I loved this book!

Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This book displayed a slow romance, with a lot of flirting in the beginning. We have Thom who has personal trauma to figure out - I would have liked it if that part would have been more detailed or long, but without it, we have the angst-free book this series has given to us.
I must say, I felt bad for Ben when everyone depicted him as a playboy with no real hard work in his life when it's not like that, but I guess his point in creating his facade is to keep attention away from him, and it works.
I liked the ending where Wren sees all his brothers and partners together at Leo's wedding. It was a good image for the epilogue of this series.

Barely Regal by E. Davies is the fifth book in the Rosavia Royals Series. Each book is written by a different author.

This was my first by this author and I really loved it. I loved prince Renford and his Daddy, Thom. I absolutely love a good Daddy/boy story and this one was done sooo good. Wren and Thom were so good together! I loved this book.

I didn't feel a lot of chemistry or romance with this Daddy/boy, May/December offering from E. Davies. The author chose to spend a lot of time justifying the relationship instead of presenting it. Almost all of the relationship development was skimmed over or recapped in telling fashion instead of being shown on page. The first 50% was promising, but it never really went anywhere interesting because of the author's choice to justify the relationship throughout the whole book. I can understand why they did so, as the one MC had worked for the other MC since he was 9 years old and the potential for readers to be creeped out by that was high. But I feel the book would have been far better for just having the valet be a new employee instead of an old one so all that unsexy/boring exposition could have just been skipped. I skimmed most of the back half and was overall left feeling unsatisfied by the whole thing.

Bottom line: I liked a few of the books in this series but none felt quite finished. If you're looking for something quick and easy that doesn't leave you with a book hangover, by all means give this series a try. All the books in this series stand alone and don't have to be read in any particular order (or at all).

Omg this was sooo gorgeous. I enjoyed it so much. It was fast paced, it was smouldering hot and it was completely delicious. The teasing was just on another level really. It was so fun and soo $exy. I literally couldn’t put this book down. In-fact I couldn’t put down the entire series. It was b|00dy brilliant. The fact was, I tried reading this last book super slow because I just didn’t want this series to be over but it was in vain because the book is completely captivating. But of-course I can revisit these kind, handsome and bratty princes again.
I loved the characterisation of Prince Wren. He was so sweet, so innocent, so bratty but he knew exactly want he needed. He knew what would make him a better version of himself and he pursued it and took it. The Prince’ romantic interest and Valet, Thom was lovely, he was firm and strict and knew that all Bratty Prince Wren needed, to stay out of trouble and be a better Prince, was a firm hand, Thom’s firm hand. The perfect “daddy” for a naughty boy. I love how just Thom’s presence has a calming effect on Wren. How he’s confident enough to say and do the right things and keep his temper in check when he has Thom beside him. Thom who is Wren’s valet has taken care of Wren from the early age of 9. Thom knows and understands Wren like no other. It is mutual because Wren knows and understands Thom like no other too.
After his 18th birthday Wren’s feelings for Thom change to one of a romantic kind. He sasses Thom and flirts outrageously with him to try and get a rise out of him. It was always in vain, atleast in the beginning. Thom has phenomenal will power that Wren tests constantly and even though allot of times it effects him he doesn’t show it. Those times when Wren is pushing him to the limit and Thom is literally standing on thin ice, one can actually cut the UST with a knife.
That first neck rub that Wren asks of Thom is especially $exy. It shows how much Will power and strength of mind Thom honestly had because I myself didn’t have that kind of will power for that scene. The scene in the $ex store was especially hot. Wren really pushes him to a limit. My heart goes out Thom who needs to be the more mature and responsible one, who needs to be the one to think about the consequences no matter how badly he wanted to persue it.
I must say I totally loved and enjoyed Wren’s interactions with Mabel and Janice. I love that even though initially he was unhappy with the duty given to him, he started to really enjoy it after he gave it a shot. I love that it was Thom who got him to try it out. I also absolutely Loved how Mabel treated him like just another trainee and how he found a friend near his age in Janice. And how he persevered and actually learnt. I also loved that he didn’t mind waking up before dawn and getting his hands dirty and actually enjoying it.
I loved the pride Thom felt every time Wren did well. It broke my heart how badly Wren wanted Thom and there was no reaction from him. I love how brave Wren was when he tied himself up on the bed and called Thom. ( it could have gone really badly) Well atleast that did it for them. Thom felt bad that he hadn’t taken care of his boy the way he needed. The scene that followed was sizzling hott. It was exciting and fascinating that Wren actually enjoyed his punishments. That he went as far as pushing and provoking Thom to see how far he will go. I loved when Wren called Thom “Daddy” and Thom enjoyed it so much. All the rules that Thom had Wren following was kinda refreshing because Thom’s rules were those that would help Wren be a better Prince. A Prince that everyone will respect and take seriously. And I loved that Wren followed those rules because they were given by Thom. It was fascinating to see the change that Thom made in Wren’s general behaviour and attitude.
The dinner date in Thom’s room was especially precious. I love how at ease Thom made Wren feel when he thought he had screwed up because of Archer. And even though Thom was freaking out inside about Archer, he never let it Show outside and made sure Wren didn’t feel anxious anymore. I love how Thom prioritises Wren’s well being first and foremost.
The princes have the best parents ever. Through out the series they have been so perfect. I love that initially even though they were all unhappy about the match that Wren had chosen, they finally respected and supported Wren and Thom. The scene where the king calls Thom and Wren inside and talks to them is just my favorite scene. The king accepting Thom so completely that he says he’s proud of him and that he’s his new son and that he should call him Alphonse from then on. It really was the most touching scene. I love that everything worked out in the end. That they loved and cared about each other dearly. Thom’s parents were awesome too. I also loved that all the other princes supported their relationship without batting and eye lid. The best part of this series is that Ida Von Tarr and Archer finally get what they deserve. I loved how Wren told her off.
What a brilliant book this was and what a beautiful series this has been. I’m really going to miss this universe. Each author has been completely brilliant. And I cannot imagine how much Work and planning has gone into this series by each author to make sure there are no spoilers even though there are plenty of crossover and to make sure each fact in each book is correct and checked. It’s really brilliant. A million kudos to all of you

I love a valet/master story and this one is a great example. There is an age gap as Wren is the youngest of the princes and Thom is in his mid 30s. The change in their relationship is well dealt with as Thom has been Wren's valet for many years.
Thom is a dom who recognises the submissive nature developing in Wren. There is a smidgen of daddy kink but it wasn't overdone to the point of made me uncomfortable.
This is the only book I've read in the series and it did not have an impact.

I have to tell you, I have loved every book in this series. I love all the characteristics of each brother and their boyfriends. I love the obstacles they overcome as they learn what is more important in their lives. But I knew from book 1, that I was going to love Wren the best. (Sorry to the other 4). There was just something about his personality that hit me like a truck. His carefree attitude, his pranks, his outlook on life. But reading his story made me love him even more, because even though he’s growing up and maturing, he’s still that sly little brat that has such a fun outlook on life.
Wren has been trying to get the eye of his valet, Thom, for a while now. He’s been in love with him for a while. He doesn’t know when things had shifted between them to the chemistry they have now, but it’s there and Wren is doing all he can to make Thom crack. The problem is, Wren feels like he’s only looked at like a child, like everyone else does and he’s had enough of that. Yes, he may be the spoiled youngest, but he still has a brain and still wants to find a place where he belongs. The other problem is, he feels like because he’s the youngest, no one takes him seriously and when it’s time for his duties, he’s insulted. Until he gets to know the one in charge, Mabel. And she changes his way of thinking. And everyone is starting to relax around him as well and makes him feel like he’s just one of the crowd. Now if he could only get Thom to think of him differently. What it’s taking him a while to realize, is Thom does feel that way about him, but between a bad past and the age difference, Thom is very hesitant. But one man can only take so much. And Thom hopes he won’t make the biggest mistake of his life.
I absolutely love Wren’s attitude. He’s just so happy go lucky. Normally the bratty part would get on my nerves, but there’s just something about Wren that makes it adorable. But what I love about Wren as well, is even though he feels like he’s been cheated as far as royal duties, he jumps in with both feet, when they find the right solution for him. And he falls in love with his job. He loves his ‘boss’ and how she doesn’t treat him like he’s the prince. She treats him like any other employee and doesn’t hesitate to tell him if he’s going to goof off, to find somewhere else to go. And because of it, he wants to work harder. To prove who he really is and can be. It’s not that he’s giving up being fun, but he’s maturing and growing up. And I love how Thom has been with him. Thom seems to know what Wren needs before Wren even knows and helps guide Wren to where he needs to be. He’s Wren’s rock and the man he’s learned to lean on. And they’re a good fit. Wren needs someone who can guide and direct him in certain ways and Thom knows those ways quite well. So he gives Wren everything he needs. In many different ways. And I love it. I love their dynamics.
This has been a really great series that I enjoyed immensely. I’m happy I got to be a part of this world. I love what the authors did with these brothers and how they brought out the best and even the worst in them. They learned to grow up and be better men, because of who they were with. They learned to let go and let love lead them where they needed to be. And because of it, Rosavia is a much happier place.

Climbing roses, rope, a brat, and a Daddy (an audio review)

Prince Renford of Rosavia is a pain in the you know what to his family, especially his elder brother Cas who is constantly cleaning up the messes of his brothers. Wren is known for being unreliable and unfocused. When his father makes him Commander of the Roses, he balks at what he considers a boring and tedious task. Little does he realize how much those roses will come to mean to him. All the family members have roses grown for them and it’s an honor to cultivate them. Wren just sees dirt and a legacy he doesn’t understand.

Thom Pierce has been Wren’s butler for quite some time. He’s watched with exasperation as the young man has grown. Yes, the prince wants to be taken seriously, but he hasn’t done much to avail himself of potential approval from his parents. Thom sees the potential in Wren but also knows a strong hand will be needed to curb the bad behavior and a guiding hand will be needed to help the prince meet and exceed his potential.

Wren being an insatiable flirty brat (Thom’s words) makes this a challenge. The young prince is a virgin, but that hasn’t stopped him from trying to tempt his butler into crossing lines that should never be crossed. Not only is there sixteen years between the two of them, but there is a massive power gap. Wren is supposed to be issuing the commands, but he yearns to be told what to do. He wants a Daddy to curb his worst tendencies.

Thom has been in the position of dominating a superior and it didn’t end well. He loves his job in the castle in Rosavia and doesn’t want to put it at risk. A visit to a sex shop later, along with some rope shenanigans, and he can see he’s going to have to take charge before Wren gets in real trouble. When their relationship is revealed, there’s a huge uproar within the royal family. But Wren is determined and a prince with a singular focus can be hard to change.

What will happen at the Royal Ball? Will Wren get his way? Will Thom have the courage to fight for what he really wants? Well, all will be revealed.

This is the final book in the Rosavia series but it can absolutely be read either as a stand alone or at any point in the series. I’ve read the books out of order but have enjoyed them all. I love watching the characters interact and putting the pieces together. Oh, and I have to mention the cats. Wren used to work at an animal shelter and he has brought home many strays who are often getting in the way – often to the betterment of the story and then men.

Finally, I have to mention Kieran Flitton. He did a lovely job narrating the series and I look forward to listening to more books by him in the future.

This is the final book in a quintet of concurrent stories, a unique setup where each story focuses on one of five brothers (the Princes of Rosavia), but includes references to the others’ respective stories which are all taking place at the same time. The books are numbered in order from eldest to youngest Prince, but the stories can be read in any order. This story focuses on the youngest, Prince Renford (“Wren”), 5th in line for the throne, significantly younger than his eldest brothers and not taken seriously. Wren and his long-time valet, Thom Pierce, have always had an “intimate” although not sexual relationship, able to anticipate each other's needs, read each other's expressions and understand the other’s thoughts and feelings without having to be told. This story picks up with Wren, now age 19, no longer a child, but chafing against the restrictions on him, which are altogether too little and too much at the same time. He’s struggling to understand what’s missing, acting up and acting out, until he realizes what he’s desperate for is the structure, guidance and protection of a Daddy - a particular Daddy, inherently sensing the Dom latent in Thom. The story tracks the metamorphosis of their relationship as it expands and transforms into something similar to what they’ve been to each other all along, and yet not at all the same and so much more. All of the books have the theme of the Princes finding the person that completes them - two puzzle pieces that perfectly fit together, and it is prominent in this one as well.

The characters are relatable and highly likeable, particularly Wren, which is an interesting trick given that in the prior four books, all we saw was his “brattiness”. If the books are read in sequence, it should be a tough sell to find him endearing here. Credit to the author for creating a complex character with some depth.

The book is obviously based on a Dom/sub, Daddy/boy relationship and, as advertised, there’s some light BDSM kink throughout. It’s inoffensive though, and well balanced by some serious sexual tension that crackles throughout the book, particularly the first half, making it difficult to put down. This story is definitely different than the other 4 books and definitely worth a read.

WHEW! Excuse me while I wipe the steam off my e-reader.

Note to you, future reader: bring tissues (and not for any tears!)

This was unexpectedly hot. Perhaps because it was my first dom/sub romance but holy moley. This struck the perfect balance between cheeky and hardcore that I didn’t even know I wanted. No, needed.

At first I was skeptical - I was trying to decide if the characters were hamming it up a little or if it was just my inexperience with this subculture that made me question the believability. Turns out, those feelings were the perfect mirror of Wren’s lack of experience, finding his way in a world he knew excited him, but also was totally unknown to him. That’s a feeling I can relate to as a gay man. It was also a humbling insight to reflect on as I read and deserves a hat tip to Ed Davies for capturing that depth so subtly, then turning it into a reader experience.

Davies absolutely nailed the slow burn and sexual tension (and the climax, in more ways than one.) The angst and insecurities were painted with a certain hand whilst the tired “age doesn’t matter” cliche made only one fleeting appearance, which you’ll no doubt find refreshing.

Thom and Wren felt real both as stand alone players and together in their relationship. Had there been an extra 100 or so pages, I have a feeling this would have become an even more outstanding example of the genre.

The dynamic of give-and-take that played back and forth between these two sweet and steamy men will resonate deep within you. Because life is like that - complex and uncertain. That said, it may not resonate for a guy who’s into strict dom/sub rules where the sub isn’t allowed to act out at all. But if you like a playful relationship with some well-enacted dominance from both boys, you’ll have a romp reading this.

The only reason I’m not giving this a 5* review is because it was just a little too short for me. I wish there was more detail on Thom’s previous scandal, some extra background on Wren’s teenage years and a little more flesh on the B-plot and B-characters. Still a cracker of a story that stands up on it’s own well :)

I was gifted an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The final chapter of the Rosavia Royals and they saved the naughtiest boy for last.

This book has themes of Daddy-boy link and mild Bondage and discipline.

A bratty boy prince needs: a firm but fair Daddy.

Prince Renford - Wren -van Rosavia is the youngest of the princes and, quite honestly, a brat. Barely 19, Ren is given the title of Commander of Roses by his father and it feels like a slap in the face. All his brothers are doing important work - learning to run a country, in the military, working on trade alliances, but what job does he get? Royal rose picker.

The only person who seems wholly on his side - and constantly in his thoughts - is Wren's Valet Thom Pierce. Thom is 16 years his senior and his firm hand and authoritative demeanor have always fascinated Wren. And as he got older those personality traits called to something in Wren's psyche like nothing else. Nobles and dignitaries his age did nothing for him, no matter how much his parents tried to make a match for him. And Thom saw in Wren the submissive tendencies and need for a firm hand that appealed to Thom's Dominant nature like no other.

But the scandal that would come from a prince and his commoner valet kept Thom from acting - the impropriety of it was unimaginable. But that didn't stop Wren because Wren decided he wanted Thomas and would stop at nothing to get him. However, as the Royal Ball approaches and all eyes are on the Royal family, scandal is the last thing they need, especially with an nasty paparazzi, a vindictive footman and Wren's older brothers causing enough scandals of their own.

But the heart wants what the heart wants and Wren and Thom are willing to fight for their relationship, no matter what others might think of it. In Thom's hands Wren is finally free and with Wren in his arms Thom is finally content.

This was a lovely final book in the series. All in all the five books were highly entertaining and a fun read.

Renford "Wren" Langston Alder van Rosavia- last in line to the throne, flirtatious brat, and practical joker. Now nineteen, he was of age to discuss his royal duties. Wren did not expect it to be the palace rose cultivation program "As the Commander of Roses."
He reacted as one might expect. Even in the midst of outrage, he could seek the simplest of comforts from his valet. Although 'crushing' on his valet had to remain a secret. Little did he know how comfortable the two of them would become.

Thomas "Thom" Pierce - junior valet and protector of the young prince. Thom struggled to find a way for Wren to learn machinations of his newly assigned royal duties. No one understood what made the young prince irritated or excited better than he. After a series of frustrations and terminating of professors, he came up with brilliant plan of teaching Wren himself.

Both understood each other in a way that required few words. Valet to the prince for ten years, he knew him in the most intimate of ways and understood the different personas; one for the public and the young man in private. The closeness between Wren and Thom made the intense sparks harder to ignore. Thom's lust was out of control and Wren's insatiable physique became harder to walk away from. Pent up sexual frustrations were just waiting to be unleashed.

Adorable couple, virgin prince, age gap, Daddy/boy, romance, steamy sex, lots of laughs, and unexpected acceptance.

**Another feline star of the show, Ladysmith.**

The final book in the series, I enjoyed the stories of each Rosavia prince, yet there is a sense of sadness as the series has come to an end.

**I received this book as an ARC for my honest review.**

An adorable and heart-warming royal romance with mind kink and lots of tender moments.
This last book in the Rosavia Royals series is centered around Wren and his handsome, composed and enigmatic valet-Thom. Wren comes off as an utterly spoiled brat but in reality is just an utterly lost and ignored adult under that facade, always supported by Thom’s advice and guidance.

Though the sexual tension between the two is thick (Thanks to Wren’s unabashed flirting-which is a treat to read), Thom soon realises how much Wren needs a daddy dom to guide, encourage and reassure his efforts. The chemistry they share is off the charts and Wren blossoms under Thom’s TLC- finding purpose and pride.

As they face Thom’s past, nosy footmen, journalists and the pressure of the upcoming Royal ball, their romance blossoms into one that is intense and passionate. The intimate scenes were hot to read but also written in oh-so-tender way, it was so beautiful to read.
I loved Thom’s character- right from the way he understood Wren’s needs to how he handled being outed.
The author’s writing style complemented by good world-building and imagery, made for an easy and heart warming read. The imagery in particular was very well done.
|" As Thom knelt behind him, his eyes full of pride and love, what Wren saw was a wild boy, a songbird caught in a tangle of greenery, and the steady oak whose perch had supported, enchanted, and finally ensnared him."|

Recommend to anyone looking for a sweet and quirky romance with just the right amount of kink.

This is the fifth novel is the Rosavia Royals series. It may be read as a standalone (but I highly recommend reading all of them!). This novel features the daddy-boy trope and some royal hi-jinks between 5 princes searching for their forever.

Prince Renford (Wren) is 19 and is the 5th of the Rosavia brothers and therefore the last in line to the throne. Due to being the youngest he was never given much responsibility and instead bids his time as a snarky and sassy brat. And when he sets his sights on something or someone he intends to get what he wants. As part of the royal family, each of the members has their own valet to cater and carry out their needs and wants. Thomas (Thom) is Wren's valet and is 16 years older then him. Thom is a Daddy and decides to take it upon himself to help teach Wren about responsibilities and duty. But what started out as innocent lessons on maturity and adulthood turns into something more; and both men realize that this connection they have stems beyond their duty but maybe to the feelings they have for each other.

I think that Wren is by far my favorite Prince; only because I found that he made the most appearances in all of the other books and he was just sassy and always had my laughing. I mean blueberry lube; need I say anything else. It was so beautiful to finally see Wren though with someone who has that gentle but firm hand to help keep him in line but also give him the love he deserves. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend reading it!

4 ½ Stars
Barely Regal is a sweet and sexy read that allows two very different men to come together in ways neither of them expects.
I enjoyed watching Wren learn and grow emotionally and intellectually as the pages turned. His character has an innocence that is lovely to see.
Thom is steadfast and true but has been stifled by the life he has accepted as his lot. I enjoyed seeing him take back the control that had been wrested from him.
These two together fit like pieces of a puzzle, snug and secure and stronger together than they ever would be apart.
At this point, I am happy with the HEA but would love to see them in a few years to make sure it stayed real.
I have never read Daddy kink before. I decided to dip my toe into that particular water with Barely Regal since this author has never led me astray. Thankfully, that is the case once more. I was not overwhelmed with an overabundance of kink scenes, and the scenes depicted are sexy and fun. I won't say that I will read this type of kink again, I probably won't, but I do have a better understanding of it and feel better for having tested my limits with this author. Barely Regal is romantic and sexy, and if not for the term Daddy being used from time to time, I would have thought it was a light BDSM read. So, the bottom line of my personal preference; the sexy times were good even with the kink, but I preferred the romantic cuddle times.
I look forward to more from this author.

So, I have to be honest from the jump - daddy kink and BDSM are NOT my thing. But I won't let that color my opinion of the book overall. Just a heads-up if you aren't into those.

If you've been reading the entirety of the Rosavia Royals series, you know that Wren is the 19-year-old baby of the Rosavia princes. And this is a young man who is desperate to find his place in his royal world, to the point that he often feels untethered. Enter Thom, who has been Ren's valet for several years, and who Ren relies on a great deal. Ren also has a giant crush on the man who is nearly twice his age. But former military man Thom is fighting hard to resist the young prince, due to his duty as valet.

Like I said, daddy kink isn't my thing, but I understand the purpose of it here. The ONLY problem I had with it was the fact that Thom has been Wren's valet since Wren was a child. That just squicked me out a little, but that's just my thing. I applaud the communication exhibited between the two main characters - something that seems vital in this type of relationship. I also like that the author illustrated the emotional benefits the relationship has for both men.

Just a note: This is one of a five-book series following the five princes of Rosavia, but none of them require you to read the others to be understood. Just a heads-up for those who might be more interested in some titles than others. Although I will say they're all good.

cannot believe this was the last book in the series. I’m gonna miss these princes so much! Thank goodness they’re just a book away.

Wren is the baby of the family, and most definitely the brat of the family. Being the fifth prince, he doesn’t have as big of a role to fill as his older siblings. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to be taken seriously. He’s 19 now, and he’s getting restless, and bored. So, when he was summoned to see his father, the King of Rosavia, he was looking forward to hearing what his royal duties were going to be. Well, he was, until his father spoke. He was assigned to be the Commander of Roses.

Wren is spiraling, and he’s desperate for someone to tell him what to do. He’s had this desire for a while. He has someone in mind, too: His valet, Thomas Pierce. Convincing him to change his perimeters is going to be a challenge, but if anyone can perfect the bratty boy persona, it’s Wren. It comes naturally to him. Thomas already knows what Wren needs, sometimes even before Wren knows. Shifting his role to include a more personal relationship goes against every protocol Thom follows. He’s not sure how much longer he can hold himself back. They have a strong connection and something deep within the other calls out to them, and it’s palpable. It’s ultimately inevitable.

This is Wren’s story about becoming the man he was meant to be, and his chance at a love to last a lifetime. I really enjoyed Wren and Thom’s relationship. It was sweet and definitely tugged at my heartstrings. It was fun to see the events from his perspective.

This is book 5 of the series and the final book. It can be read as a standalone, but I strongly recommend reading the whole series. It’s just that good. As mentioned before, I will miss our sweet princes. My time in Rosavia was utterly enjoyable, and as all good things must come to an end, it is time to bid them adieu.
