This is going to be a fun series! Kyla and Luke are right for each other but both have commitment problems. Will they stay together or part ways? Only time will tell.

Kyla is asked to look into a fatal stabbing at a new
bistro by the owner. She accepts because of the connection the accused has with an employee at
Moonstruck Manor. There are a lot of people who
would like this person dead but who actually did it?

Once again, Joy has produced a cozy mystery that will keep you guessing to the very end. The story flows effortlessly (but I’m sure it wasn’t that way putting the story down initially). The finished product will leave the reader satisfied that the time spent reading this book was time well spent!

I recommend you read this book because it’s one that will keep your interest and keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next.

Once you’ve read it I suggest you check out the other two books prior to this and then check out the other books Joy has written. You will find an author you will want to continue reading because her books are just the ticket to offset the problems in the world today. Curl up with one and tune out the bad news that is constantly being broadcast. You won’t regret it!

More murder mystery for Kyla to unravel

Having thoroughly enjoyed the prequel and the first book in the series, I was looking forward to seeing more of Moonstruck Manor and I wasn't disappointed. This book continues from Magically Murdered, with Kyla learning more about her magic and, more importantly, leaning more about Luke, the manager of the hotel who may or may not be her boyfriend. Someone from Luke's past arrives at the hotel with news that throws Luke into a bit of a spin, and has potential repercussions for his relationship with Kyla.
Yet again, Kyla is roped into a dangerous situation, asked to help solve a murder by someone she definitely doesn't trust, but she is convinced the suspect is innocent so has little choice but to put herself in the firing line again. The story is well-plotted, as all of Joy's books are, the mystery is suitably mysterious, and the whole is a fun read. Bow I'm awaiting the last book of the trilogy, with my fingers crossed for Kyla and Luke's happy ending.

Kyla and Luke are at loggerheads.

Luke seems to want to try to protect Kyla from possible corruption and dangers of his genie powers and existence. But is Luke protecting himself from pains he fell victim to in the past, and embracing other parts of his past while pushing Kyla away?

Kyla’s sister and Devin are well and truly coupled. Not sure what’s keeping any of them from being more formally committed.

Poor Isabella and Sebastian, the two who are actually engaged, keep getting obstacles thrown in their way.

Add in another deceptive genie or two, and a complicated fae family- more than plenty of drama, death and mayhem to sprinkle around.

Romance with loads of drama and dramatic fun!

This novella had perhaps a little too much demanding my attention. There was the mystery, which was perplexing, puzzling and twisted (just right for those who want to exercise the brain cells); and, there was the romance, which was heart-rending, troubling and suspenseful (drama worthy of Days of Our Lives). Either would have made for a good read; both together made for a riveting read.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I downloaded this book and read it in a day because I could not put it down! This is the second book in the series and Joynell just has a way of making her characters seem real and she weaves a wonderful story. I don’t believe in giving spoilers so I won’t do that here. What I will do is urge you to download the book and warn you not to crack it open till you have enough time to read a bit of it! I love this series!

Kyla is asked to find a murderer, by the same genie that kidnapped her? How is that reasonable? But she does it, and hijinks ensue as Kyla and Luke endeavor to find the real murderer.

Again, hilarious with very serious undertones. This one touches a great deal on Kyla's PTSD from being kidnapped, as well as Luke's traumatic past as a genie, and the wishes he was forced to grant.

Kyla has a full plate with her job and new relationship when she is drawn into another murder investigation. Kyla’s coworker and friends fiancé is accused and arrested for the murder. Witches, genies, and other magical characters fill the pages of this intriguing magical mystery, along with a bit of romance.

Despite a restaurant full of people witnessing the crime, Kyla is convinced that her friend Sebastian isn't guilty of murdering the food critic. She knows that magic is involved somehow.

Kyla is still trying to understand her witchiness and slowly becoming involved with Luke - he thinks that their 800 year age difference is a problem.

Fun book

Another excellent book. It's got genies and witches and more. Like and Kyla are still getting to know each other. Kyla is in the heart of all the drama. Who is dead, who did and why? Another enjoyable romantic mystery by Joy. Can't hardly wait till the third book. Received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

This is book two in this series. And while Kylie isn’t asked by the police to help solve tis murder, she jumps right in trying to solve it, as the accused is about to marry her friend. So many suspects and each with a very good reason to want the victim dead. Can you solve it? I came very close.

Who did it?

A murdered jerk and so many suspects. Luke and Kyla need to figure out who did it and figure out their relationship while Kyla is figuring out her magic. A fun read with lots of action and magic.

An intriguing mystery with several viable suspects. Kyla works relentlessly on finding the killer to help her friends. In the process she discovers more about Luke than she first realized. A heart-warming story about friendship, love and trust.

2.5 stars, rounded down. I felt like the mystery part of the book just wasn’t… very prevalent, not at all the main plot point. Felt more like a romance with the occasional tidbit of the mystery thrown in. It wasn’t bad by any means, just was disappointed in the lack of mystery.

once again a cute story but please ms Schultz, Spring for a REAL Narrator instead of the AI, IT'S HORRIBLE There inflection is always at the wrong point, the story gets to the point that it feels like it's dragging... your books are good give them a chance and hire a Narrator please!!!!!!!

Genies, witches, fae and a murder mystery!

Hold on tight for an excellent adventure in this second installment of the Paranormal Bed & Breakfast Series. Kyla Hunt is back in the thick of the action when Sebastian, a friend of hers, is arrested for the murder of a well-known food critic who had cost Sebastian his job. To make matters worse, the murder was witnessed by an entire restaurant full of people. Kyla is certain Sebastian is not a killer and that something of a paranormal nature was actually the driving force behind the very public execution but how can a green witch, whose powers lie in manipulating plants and working with Mother Nature, solve a case like this? Sebastian’s fiancée, Isabella, is also a close friend of Kyla’s and it is breaking Kyla’s heart to watch the young couple’s future evaporate right before her eyes. She cannot let this happen and so, at great personal risk, she resolves to uncover the true culprit. She gets help along the way from her boss (and new boyfriend) Luke Shade, a genie with an enigmatic past and some relationship issues which often prove quite distracting to Kyla. There are many potential suspects, including the widow (a fae who isn’t exactly the picture of grief), and people who have suffered as a result the food critic’s scathing reviews. Just as with the first book in this series, this is a great choice for anyone who enjoys a clean romance, wonderful characters, and a good mystery with plenty of twists and turns.

I was provided with an advance copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.
