Unfortunately, pressing the reboot button isn’t an option. Bringing The Crow’s Feet Coven back to their former glory is her destiny, whether she likes it or not. Too bad the powers that be will do whatever it takes to stop them.

This one started right where the other left off . . . but I sure didn't remember where the other had left off. As I am fairly certain I felt about the first one. I will likely finish the series . . . and feel the exact same way about the next one. :)

Phenomenal follow up

Christine Gael has done an incredible job in the sequel. I can't wait for the third book to arrive. Book one completely builds backstory for all the characters and begins us in the intriguing world of the Crow's Feet Coven. Brewing Trouble gets us to the thick of things and does a tremendous job of keeping us on the edge of our seats. Keep up the great work!

After that cliffhanger in ‘Writing Wrongs‘, I wasn’t sure what to expect in the second story of the ‘Crow’s Feet Coven‘ series… but never fear, Cricket, Zoe, Mee-Maw, and even Patrick are back for more troubles, more adventures, and definitely more magic in ‘Brewing Trouble‘.

I’m having such a good time watching Cricket come into not only her powers but her own self-confidence as she faces down danger, mistrust, and perplexing magical messages as she, along with her trusty sidekicks, Zoe, Mee-Maw and company, fight to stay alive and bring the Crow’s Feet Coven back into existence. I think though that Mee-Maw is my favorite character, she’s such a hoot (as my own grandmother would say), you never know what her mischievous mind will get up to next – and that’s part of her charm.

No details for you should discover this gem all on your own – but now I’m needing the third story in this series… right now. If you love a really good story with interesting characters and situations, one that will always keep you on your toes throughout then I have a series for you. Sit back and enjoy ‘Brewing Trouble‘ – you’ll find a puzzle to solve, magic to invoke, and characters to enjoy.

The title of this second book of series says it all! More trouble, more dangers, more powers to fight! And there's so much fun too! Gram is the one who brings it more than others!
It starts exactly where we've been left on a mayor cliffhanger at the end of the first book which was so promising and let my imagination run wild. I had so many ideas but was proven that Christine Gael's mind is much more than that. Action packed story with unexpected turns and twists which I absolutely loved. That's my kind of a good book!
Cricket is quickly becoming a strong badass woman with a very soft heart, leader who protects her family and friends. Loved how Cricket and Zoe's magical powers developed. Got to know more about Patrick's background. We've got some important answers but there are many more to be discovered in next book which can't come soon enough!

Worth the wait

With “Writing Wrongs”, Christine Gael had left us with a major cliffhanger. Yes, we had to wait a few weeks longer to know what happened to Cricket, but it was worth the wait.

We could see her developing into a powerful witch, ready to fight for those she loves... alongside them.

Good thing that the cliffhanger isn’t too bad, this time! Looking very much forward to the next book, no matter how long it will take for it to come. Not too long, though, please! I can’t wait to see what that next battle will be!

Book two even better than one

Omg the feels! So many twists and turns and suspense! This book really creates the magic and keeps the characters on their toes! It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Time is ticking to solve the problems this coven is facing! Read it in one day and can’t wait for the third in the series! Love it!

I might not have been in the mood, but I wasn't able to get back into the flow of the world/characters in this second book. The first one was more on the okay side and didn't really stick.

Cricket's issues continue, but the continual support of her family (excluding her ex and kids, who have NO IDEA what's going on) and uncovering a few answers (as well as unearthing allies in unexpected places) are helping to keep her on an even keel. I mean, sure, there's a murderous cult out to get her and the others and the guy she had her eye on betrayed her and then saved her and her ex-husband is like a big, idiot kid and she's living in a bakery, but things are looking up. Mostly.

The question of who she and her family should trust remains a big issue. Patrick might have betrayed her, but he is trying to right the wrongs he took part in. And every person they let into their secret circle is potentially in danger from the bad guys.

Heck, even the bad guys seem to be in danger from the bad guys and that doesn't make things easy for our group.

But Cricket's making it work. She's holding true to herself while she navigates her new powers. She's protecting those she thinks need protecting. Things are a little hairy at times, but she doesn't let that slow her down.

I'm digging these witchy women and all the crazy they're involved in.

Really enjoying the continuing story of this "coven". The characters in this series are great and the magic is interesting. I definitely am looking forward to how the grandmother is going to do with magic. She's probably one of the best characters. I also really like Patrick and would like to see him have more development. Also if it runs in the female family line and her, her cousin and her grandma all have magic, shouldn't she be more worried about her daughter also having dormant magic? I mean she won't awake to it till she's older but the fact they haven't even thought of it seemed weird. Her kids seem so far removed from the story which seemed a bit strange for a story focused on a mother and a close knit family. Granted having been child of divorce i do relate to those kids and the picking sides does happen. I'd like to see them find out their mom is a badass witch and maybe have her relationship with them grow.

The Story Progresses

I enjoyed the story very much. It picks up where the cliffhanger in the first book left off. This book did not have a cliffhanger. But there is an overarching plotline that will not be completed until at least the third book, maybe more. In book one a newly divorced woman finds out she is a witch. Her witch powers are tied to a artifact, in this case, an old typewriter, that gives her insight into the future. In this book her cousin also finds she is a witch and her powers are enhanced by an old cauldron. She can make magic options using the cauldron to cook with. But in both books a power hungry corporation is out to murder the witches and take their artifacts. It will take more than the two witches to defeat the corporation. A massive reckoning is coming.

Cricket Hawthorne is back along with her coven. Cricket has her typewriter, Zoe has her cauldron now they need to find the third witch and her magical item to complete their coven.
It is Cricket, Zoe and Mee-Maw against the witch hunters. The only hope they have is to combine forces of the entire coven to beat them.
Cricket has already been taken by them once and she barely made it out alive. The three are off to find the third before it is to late for them all.
Again, this one ends on a cliffhanger but not as bad as the first book. It is nice to have books that are all about older heroines, makes you realize getting older may suck but it also makes you tough.

Released six months after book one, I had forgotten how huge a cliffhanger we were left with. This book picks up where the first book left off, without repeat of the first book. I am okay with that, especially if binge reading a series, but I did have to go back to the first book to refresh myself with the ending; absolutely not a problem. In book one Cricket and Zoe locate their magical items . In book two Cricket struggles to reconnect with Maude and Zoe learns how to use her cauldron. Book three not only has them trying to stay alive and avoid The Organization, but helping Mee-Maw locate her magical item. The tension, suspense, and storyline are really good and my only issue is book three is not released yet.

Even better as the series moves on. More witches, more powers, more dangers.

She was rescued from a nose. But who saved her? Friend or foe?

I loved the story as it progresses and the little band of witches, added a few helpers, finding more magic and more magical items. Will the police help? Or will the "Organization" that captured Cricket turn out to be much more than they thought?

So many questions, so much action, throw in a feisty gun-toting gramma and you won't put it down until the end. I can't wait for the next one.

Cool spells in this one.

Not going to lie I want to be Zoe. The other witches powers just don't seem as cool to me. I mean being able to do spells that give you such awesome powers like in the book I mean mind blown. I love magic so much. Mee Maw races to get her item of power in this book. It's a long adventure taking several attempts. And when family start to ask questions they have to start making up stuff to cover for their ghosting everyone. Patrick and Cricket finally start to get back together. Trudy proves an invaluable part of the team.

Brewing Trouble is Book 2 in the series and picks up right where we left off.

Cricket has escaped the hangman's noose, by the skin of her teeth. Zoe and MeeMaw are taking care of her, while trying to decide just who they can trust. Zoe is working on her new found skills and MeeMaw can't wait to find her "object" which will complete the coven.

Time is of the essence, friends may be foes, and hiding from the evil people who want the witches dead are at every turn. The goal for the Organization is to collect magic items and use them for their own evil purposes, but first they have to begin with the witch who escaped, and that's Cricket. Her life is in danger, and no one is safe.

Oooooh Cricket!!!

Cricket can never just leave things be and walk away. No, she thinks she needs to get even and helps her family become the coven they were meant to be at the same time. Too bad the Organization is still out there and wants her dead! Can she finally trust Patrick? Will she go back to her ex-husband or even Ethan (the drone of a man) or will she give up on romance all together while getting her act together? Come on in and Brew up some Trouble!!

Good wine

I liked writing wrongs the first time I read it. The second reading gave me the chance to read a bit more into the characters. Brewing trouble just got more and more interesting each chapter. The story deepened as more elements were revealed. The characters are hilarious, especially mee maw. This series is definitely like a good wine, it improves with age. I can't wait for the next part.

Gripping

Wow, I knew that Christine was a good author but this series is gripping. I'm not usually a huge fan of this much paranormal but this series is so good. I absolutely love mee-maw and it will be great to see what happens when she discovers her powers. These 3 are going to be a force to be reckoned with. They will need it to take down Verbena now that they have beat Finneas. On to the next one.

Worth the wait!

Book 2 of the Crows Feet Coven series did not disappoint! It was great to see Cricket really come into her powers along with Zoe starting to find hers. Mee-Maw is a hoot who takes no crap- love her and can’t wait to see how her magic will come. With a cliffhanger ending you’ll be dying for Book 3 to come sooner rather than later...I know I am!

Picking up the action from the first book's massive cliffhanger comes book 2 with more action, more powers, and more exciting developments. New people enter the Crow's Feet Coven's small circle of trust that may surprise you and while it doesn't exactly end on a cliffhanger it does end on a "to be continued" sort of feeling.

Lots of drama and tense

While I like the book, I like a gentle, happy read, tense does not do it for me. Unfortunately, this book was tense. I like the magical objects, however, a fountain pen would have been a better get than an old typewriter. If everyone else 's magical objects are of a same time. Also, easier to carry, a typewriter is cumbersome. It is good but tense.

Coming into their own

The second of the series finds the Crows Feet Coven getting stronger and adding to the coven. Things are heating up between Cricket and Patrick too. Great read and I can't wait for the next where they will confront the bad witch.

Wow

Couldn't put this book down. Love the concept for the series. Cricket is such a strong character even with her insecurities. She is becoming stronger and more self assured as books progress. Plenty of suspense and action. Next book can't come quickly enough
