The Dead Inns paranormal investigations team is back in action with an all-new television show, Haunted Ends. With the help of their new ghostly member, Sam, the show's popularity has grown far beyond San Francisco. Rocky, the show’s paranormal psychic, along with Sam, agrees to investigate the murder of a young college girl, Lilly Rosenberg. While doing so, the two are reunited with old friends as well as meeting new interesting ones… bodies optional. Their spooky adventure leads the crew of Haunted Ends into peril, fighting for their lives in the middle of the Mojave desert against the ghost of a long-dead serial killer, Irving Keegan.
I enjoy when a mystery is mixed in with a good ghost story. Second book in the series - really enjoy the characters, the ones that had previously been introduced and the news ones. My one quibble with the book is there seems no reason to make Sam the ghost a little person other than the occasional joke about his stature.
I don't know about other people, but usually when I finish a book, the characters are soon forgotten and so is most of the story except for a fond (or not so fond) remembrance of the book itself. With the Haunted Ends series, this is so not true. Days later, I remember Sam, Rocky, Rose, Marcus and Silvia and look forward to reading the next installment of the series. So far, the series has been entertaining, well written and like I said, memorable. The story of Lily and her brother Edward was heart wrenchingly beautiful, and everyone loves a happy ending. Definitely recommend this series for anyone who loves a good ghost story!
