There are things like about this book and the series, namely that we often get a glimpse as to what it takes to survive in a post-EMP world. However, there are many things that are a problem too. There are a lot of editing issues, including Zach getting his name spelled two different ways. Much of this should have been caught by a decent proofreader. The actual ending seemed rushed and lackluster. My biggest issue, as usual, is Maddie, who I find to be irritating and a problem. She is constantly angry and aggrieved and whinging because others know information before she does or she doesn't feel she gets the respect she thinks she deserves for being a bad-ass. Maria is bad-ass; Maddie not. To make matters worse, when the group comes to free Maddie and the others from the evil clutches of the ranch, she jeopardizes all of it by refusing to wait and just charging in. I was going to give 2 stars for the Maddie factor, but because the confrontation with Nelson was so satisfying I bumped it. I will likely read the next book because I have completed 6 in the series already, but I will hope Maddie is busy and not available.

TL Payne has once more given us fans of The Days Of Want Series another sure fire hit. I may have enjoyed this particular book the most out of all in this series. The troubles Maddie Langston and her family and friends face this time around could not be more challenging. There are several different arcs through this book as the characters all take on different jobs necessary for the benefit of their community. In true TL Payne style they all face dire circumstances. It’s a tense thrill ride that grabs hold from page one and doesn’t let go until the end. Recommended reading for post-apocalypse fiction fans.

The tension and adventure reaches a whole new level

Maggie is now stuck in the new normal at least for her and her community . Life has been adjusted since the lights went out and now Maggie and her community must face new challenges as they attempt to find out what else is out there .
You will laugh and cry and wish that there was more , but T.L Payne leaves us ready for her next book and once again that much more prepared for when the fan really does get hit .
T.L continues to do a master full job of taking a violent time and still not using gratuitous violence to but instead tastefully painting a real picture of what life just might look like . You will feel each and every moment that her characters do .

I've been on a binge read of TL Payne's Days of Want Series. Having read books 1-5 I can easily tell you it's worth the one click to get all of these novels and follow Maddie Langston as she struggles in a post EMP world.
Mayhem is just what you'd expect from Payne. As new characters emerge, new struggles do too. Mayhem is absolutely that... complete and utter chaos of those trying to survive this new world. Nine or so months into the apocalypse everyone is struggling. Those who prosper do so with harsh methods. The Langston family and their friends are holding their moral ground as they struggle to take down a local business mad and king.

Loved the entire series. Different from what I normally read but very plausible if another world war were to happen in America. Put me in a head space of thinking that most Americans myself included are nowhere near prepared if the worst happened and we were attacked by foreign enemies in this way. A super EMP is likely in someone’s arsenal of weapons that could crumble our nations infrastructure. Loved the characters, cried with their heartbreaks, angry for their losses and made me want to better prepare my family of shit were to hit the fan, literally!

Entertaining

An interesting storyline of post apocalyptic world, as the survivors try to eek out a life after the fall of society. Let’s face it folks, the most dangerous animal on the earth is man unchained from influence of law & order. Greedy, unethical men will always take advantage of those weaker. Who will stand against them? Are there enough whites hats left?

This is well told story with interesting characters and exciting events.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the post-Apocalyptic series Days of Want. I love post-apocalyptic books and this is one of the best series I have read. It was very different from most, got you inVolved from the very beginning and never turner loose. I really enjoyed knowing as much about the main characters and how they worked so well with each other. Glad that at least two characters got what was coming to them. I highly recommend this series. I will be reading more of T. L. Payne down the road.

Another hit out of the park!!

Book 6 of this great series provided us with an action packed full thrill ride. It also took me through the emotional up down of the storyline. It had everything that we have come to expect from the author! Great characters, fast pace action filled storyline. If you have not read anything from this author I highly recommend that you do. So get her books and leave your reviews! Thank you for using KU. Can’t wait until the next book to see where and what adventures our group gets into.

Truly Amazing

This whole series had me on the edge of my seat. It was so well written that it felt as if I were traveling and experiencing everything right along with the characters. I felt their pain, I felt their happiness/joy, I even cried from time to time. There is just so much you can learn from these books, especially if something like this were to ever actually happen. I can't thank the Author enough for such an amazing series and I cannot wait to read the rest.

Engrossing series

I am quoting a passage from the book to explain the gist of the series. "Life since the electromagnetic pulse had fried the electric grid, damaged the electronics in automobiles, and knocked out all communication networks had been a moment-to-moment struggle to survive." Start with book 1 and read these in order. Follow Maddie and her family and friends as they struggle to survive in this changed country.

Involved so much that I cry when bad or sad things happen to the characters.

Having read all six books in this series, I realized that one of the hallmarks of a good book and author for me, is to get me involved so much that I cry when bad or sad things happen to the characters. I am sad to have the series end but look forward to starting a new one.

No not the end!!!

It feels like saying goodbye to family, knowing you’ll never see them again. The entire series left me invested in characters I loved and a few I didn’t. The adrenaline rarely let up and there were many closer calls. The reality of starvation is so clearly portrayed as is the will to live. Maddie and her family have that will. War sucks.

Maddie is getting on my nerves!

What a spoiled little girl-this book proved that she hadn’t matured at all-the guys were still running armed risking their lives when she’d stick her nose in the air and go off half cocked-I am enjoying how the country is promising to come back. I’m looking forward to book 7!

Is this the end...

I really hope not. The last chapter ends with an unanswered question, so I hope there's more to come. There certainly are a lot of possibilities left to explore.

A good read.

The entire series was enjoyable and realistic. The characters are engaging and action sort of non stop.
While I didn’t want it to end, at least it has ended with hope!

TL Payne has created a realistic scenario for this series. His description on what experiences people can expect in an EMP event or attack are reasonable and very well thought out. The series is a fun read that gives the reader some great characters to identify with and root for.

good story

This story wraps up a lot of the drama! Good story! It was not told totally from Maddys point of view this time. I do hate how they treat her as a child since she is a married woman.
