Garret was going to take Holly to the diner in Silver Spruce to work a bit and mingle with humans. She didn’t know why everyone was suddenly so accommodating until they told her Elise was going with her as bodyguard. She had volunteered since her guys would have started a full shifter battle to see who would go with Holly. Holly and Elise got in the truck with Garret, but Holly kept staring at him, knowing something was wrong. His eyes didn’t sparkle, his smile was gone, and he glared at everything. Was he brooding over Keller’s disappearance, one of the firstborns turning dark and changing sides? Garret got out of the truck and went straight to the diner without even checking if Holly was behind him. She asked Elise to wait while she went in to talk to him. Something was definitely wrong. When she made him stop cutting up tomatoes and look at her, he said he thought she was with one of the other guys. She always was, and never had time for him. She realized that he saw her hooking up with Johnny and Loch and Keller and Trevor, and he wanted special time with her too. She was the reincarnation of the Maiden, who would choose the Bear Clan King – as well as have a child with whichever one she chose, according to the ancient prophecy! She was supposed to heal the shifter world with love, and that’s what she was doing. But she hadn’t spent time like that with him. He could deal with the others sharing her as long as he knew he had her heart—his own personal corner of it. He walked up to her, kissed her deeply, and told her he loved her just as someone came into the diner which brought them back to reality.

As Garret joined them, the three walked down the street until an unkempt man called out, “Maiden!” Elise identified him as pretending to be one of Trevor’s men, Rhett Cooper, but Trevor always questioned his loyalty. But in a nasty sneer, Cooper said he came to warn them Trevor was in danger. A band of fully transitioned dark shifters were moving in on Trevor since they blew his cover and know he’s playing both sides. They’re ten miles out of Golden Oak, and they’ll kill him if they catch him in town. But Trevor can’t leave Golden Oak -- he’s trapped there. Was this another trap, though, to get the Maiden? Cooper claimed he could get through the barrier – meaning he was the one who cast the protection spell or had some connection with the person who did. But he said he would get them through. If they waited or went back for the others, it would be too late.

When dark magic poisoned Keller’s mind and he was captured by an evil witch, Phaedra and Celeste had made him attack Holly. He would pay them back in blood if it was the last thing he did in this life. He was still trapped, but he would get out of here. Then Celeste told him she was his friend and would help, that Phaedra had her husband Lucien’s heartstone and would kill him if she hadn’t gone along with her. But Phaedra plans to raise an army of the dead from the underworld to attack the shifters and retake the power she gave them when she made them shifters in the first place. Then she will rule the world!

Holly is aware that Silver Spruce is a haven in a generations-old war against the dark shifters of the nearby town and she realizes she has her work cut out for her. Holly and her team need to return to Golden Oak for the ultimate showdown with the dark shifters threatening their world.

Things are happening in the story as the tension ratchets up! Grab your copy and see if there is help coming from any direction now! It’s hard to tell the bad guy from the good guy when everyone keeps changing sides! How will this turn out? You won’t want to miss this one!

Idk what these other people are on but this book and series are unreadable.
Like probably one of the worst ive read and i have a low bar and have read A LOT.

Theres so much to say about whats wrong with it that theres no point.

I will say a thing that was specific to this book was her punching some dark shifter in the face and basically breaking her fingers and then its just automatically forgotten about. Like and while that was more obviously stupid it didnt surprise me because acting out of character or stupidly or all over the place in terms of writing and general just readability was so horrendous that ive had better luck reading childrens diaries and stories who can barely write read spell or speak properly yet. Most of your energy will be soent deciphering the illegible bs that this series and book is and giving you a killer headache attempting to keep together in a way that makes some sort of sense despite what your read being the complete opposite.
Like good gods. Im all for self publishing and cutting out the middle man and even easy to read low rate smut like my bar is low okay even a fucking newborn could make it over this bar its basically a line on the ground. This book and series however could not and frankly i regret reading it at all which is not something i say even if books werent that enjoyable but this literally has zero redeeming features like im sorry i dont want to say bad things but its true. The entire series should be heavily edited reformatted condensed into 3 books and be proofread by someone who isnt delusional or idk senile and then maybe the concept and world portrayed would actually have a chance in hell of showing the good. Like i just cant unpack every little thing that amounts to the majority of the book being horrendous. Like id struggle even if i was being healthily paid to do so.
I got to 88 percent in this book. I didnt even have the will to live left to skim the rest.
I really gave this series a good go. But honestly even the first book was meh at best but i was unfortunately intrigued enough by the premise/concept that i gave it a free pass as i do most first books and didnt run away screaming and powered through the following books. And im only halfway and yet i feel like ive been reading this series for ten years when it has in fsct been less than a week and it seems like in the book world maybe two or three months have passed its hard to say given the insanity of the world buidling and general hellscape i was exposed to im not sure i can concieve the parameters of actual reality with clarity anymore.

This very well-written book 4 in the Bears Of Oregon Series is a continuation of a series with amazingly crafted characters that have great chemistry. This is book four in the Bears of Oregan series. Holly is starting to put the pieces together in Silver Spruce. Things are becoming clearer but no where's near crystal, yet. Keller is taken by an evil witch and the focus becomes to get him back before its too late. The story continues to build and twist as it leaves its cookie trail from the beginning towards the end. Enjoy!

The war with the dark shifters is coming. Holly, her five guys, and her best friend Elise are in danger from multiple sources. Keller has been captured by Phaedra and Trevor’s parents have betrayed him and Elise. The witches of Silver Spruce are like zomibes. Is all hope lost? Stranger than the others

I'm reading about one of these books a day. This one stands out -- and not really in a good way. The editing slipped and the language was distracting. Spikes, drilling, and some other euphemisms for sex were overused and over-the-top.

Errors

Lots of plot line mistakes, hope the following books don't continue in this way. Hate when books series change like that, makes the story line not flow proper.

Whoever wrote this book hadn't read the first 3 books in the Bear series. Griz was the owner of General Store in first 3 books an in this book he owns the diner. None of the characters are written like first 3 books. The sex scenes are not written like first 3 books. This book is horribly written. Hope Snow returns to writing this series if not I won't read another series from Star.
