International bestselling MM romance author Kelex lives in Hampton Roads, Virginia with her twenty-something slacker kidult and two senior grandpups.
When not being a pain in her daughter’s ass or writing under various pen names, she also loves to create stained glass, paint, crochet, bake gorgeous breads, and host game night with all her kiddos, be they born or adopted.
The back and forth was exhausting. They both liked each other why’d they keep ruining away. Also both Bellamy and Quinn we’re sort of rude and I didn’t like it. And I wasn’t a fan of Fitz (and I accidentally put Ditz which I think is more fitting) but I loved Tanner, so on to the next.
If you're looking for some scorching heat sex, crazyhotsexy chemistry between the two MCs, a surprise pregnancy and all the ramifications from trying to make things work, you must read this story.
This is set in Kelex's same Omegaverse, although it takes place in a different quadrant of the world, so omegas have more rights and freedoms than the omegas set in her first book, His Surrogate Omega. (so, yay! Totally not as angsty as that book, which is one of my top mpreg reads). This book also stands really well on its own - although, do yourself a favor and just go read HSO. Also, can I just say - McCreary?!?
I really loved the set up here - Quinn goes to what he thinks will be a totally private home to suffer through his off-meds heat at the same time Bellamy escapes to get away from his controlling family ideals and his crappy ex. The two can't escape the pheromones and spend their heat/rut together. Now they've got to figure things out in the real world once the heat is over. There was plenty of emotion, a meddlesome ex-boyfriend, conflict, and I just wanted Quinn and Bell to make things work! I really enjoyed this, and was so, so happy to get more from Kel's Omegaverse.
And finally - I need Fitz and Tanner's story, pronto!
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was a nice little book to read during my bout of insomnia...it might have even caused it a little. I don’t have too much to say either good or bad here. There was insta love, good sex scenes, a nice cast of supporting characters for future novels, omega rights, possessive alphas, and an evil ex. Still not a huge fan of seeing mpreg on page, but it wasn’t horrible.
Maybe one day I'll manage to get my irritation under control enough that I can write an actual review...but today is not that day.
Not a SINGLE character was likable and instead of having to think about them to type out a review, I'd rather work towards erasing this book from my memory all-together.
Here's a bunch of gifs that summarize how I felt, instead:
Hmm... I don’t know... it started off well. As in, I was eager to find out what happened next and next and next. But then I sorta just lost interest before it hit the 50% mark... I can’t even figure out why except maybe it was getting predictable? 🤷🏻♀️
I wanted to DNF this at 10% and I honestly should've, but it was so bad that it was entertaining.
Unrealistic, cringe-inducing, probably 50 sex scenes that weren't steamy in the slightest, underdeveloped and laughable daddy kink, fake dating with a OW, and some of the most awkward writing I have ever seen.
'I'm trying to save you' is NOT what you say to an independent omega who don't need no alpha OMFG?!
The entirety of this book is Quinn saying the wrong thing when he means the right thing. Foot in Mouth disease has never been so clear.
BUT, kudos for the miscommunication handling. These MCs don't know each other from Adam, and suddenly they're thrust together and having to make life altering decisions. No wonder they're getting off on the wrong foot all the time.
We have Bellamy, an independent omega who is so scared of losing himself in a relationship and disappearing into being just another trophy to an alpha. Clinging onto his independence with his claws because once he's a husband and father, he no longer belongs to himself.
Then we have Quinn. Forced to be a serious alpha family heir by circumstance, but secretly pining for the day he meets his omega bondmate and can smother with (and be smothered by) love.
Then boom. They meet, and combust during one wild heat. And Quinn loses his head. The harder he tries to love Bellamy, the stronger Bellamy fights to get free and maintain his independence.
I've never seen an alpha beg so hard, pretend he's not begging, then beg again shortly after. No decorum whatsoever. Sending Bellamy a suffocating amount of roses💀. Appealing to Bellamy's pragmatic nature to push for mating.
But the way he handles him? Guys!
He won't have rough sex with him because he *MIGHT* be pregnant (days into a hypothetical pregnancy btw😂)
These two talk at cross purposes a lot but the beauty is they talk themselves off a ledge separately and come back calmer and more open to discussion(well, mostly it's Bellamy spiralling first BUT Quinn always helps him into the first twirl so equal blame)
"You were right. I want to possess you, but not in the way you think." "There's a good way to be possessed?" "There has to be, because you've possessed me from the moment you first set eyes on me, and the hell if I want it to stop."
"Hell, even the arguments we get in are more emotion than I've felt with anyone in my life!"
Awww. I'm not crying at the toxicity, you are!
Quinn is such a BREEDER too, OMFG. Just wants Bellamy knocked up from the jump and stays on course the whole time. Getting a 5 bedroom house just in case. A consistent king💀
This is the most excited reaction to a pregnancy announcement that I've ever read, yooo. Him shouting in the restaurant? Every baby should be so fucking wanted.
I love this for them. I love how excited Bellamy is about it because I couldn't picture him this way at the start but how he opens up to the idea when he feels secure and cherished??? Nah, I love it for him. And TRUSTTTTTT them to find a way to turn it into a fight, my favorite toxic bastards.
Not the 'Your alpha may find you. And take you away from me.' 'Let me spend a little more time in this fantasy world....where you belong to me.' My heart 😭 this man is TERRIFIED of losing Bellamy.
Quinn comes really close to sounding chauvinistic if you have your guard up like Bellamy does but he really really just wants to baby his baby and I can not and will not hold that against him. The thoughtfulness?! Literally each and every one of Bellamy's worries-major or minor? HANDLED. This MF does love right. Gah.
Not us STILL getting angst 19 minutes to the end of the book. My toxic faves stay giving 100%. Clocked in for the entirety of the book, IKTR!!!
Sidenote- Also, seeing Fitz this degree of down bad for another alpha's omega has me excited to see how he'll spin it around when he finds his(especially given who his omega is, yeeish)
ah this was a good one. to start off, there was a lot of chemistry between quinn and bellamy. i was sold on them together from the beginning and the build-up to their meeting was tense in a way that was reminiscent of a thriller novel.
i couldn't stop reading. it was like watching a train wreck that exploded into really hot and possessive sex between two people with really good chemistry. there was, of course, the whole 'scorned boyfriend' subplot here that was meant to be a big 'threat' to their relationship and it was honestly a lot predictable, but i enjoyed reading it anyway.
So this story started off kind of slow but I did enjoy it and then read a short by this author that I loved so went back to this and pushed through the slowness and honestly wish I didn’t. Both MCs had other man drama constantly. I don’t mind some drama but for both of them to affect the story so much was a little bit much.
The MCs were also very much back and forth on wanting to be together. And the omega MC kept lying to the Alpha MC about being mates and being pregnant and it was just too much for me. I did end up finishing the story but wouldn’t recommend it. But I see lots of other people loved it so if these things don’t bother you or interest you then definitely go for it! Not sure I’d read more by this author.
This was pretty cute. Nothing super amazing and took a while to get into it. It's written in 3rd person, which isn't always done well, and that was the case for me with here.

Bin gespannt was mich im nächsten Band erwartet. 😊👍🏼
Zawsze zapominam, jakie dziwne książki pisze Kelex, w środku się denerwuję nędzną jakością, a na koniec i tak jakoś jestem zadowolona. Tym razem było tak samo. ;)
I really enjoyed this omegaverse story, something different and refreshing. Kelex writes such strong omegas and Bellamy was no different. I couldn't get enough of the constant push and pull between Bellamy and Quinn. The story had just the right amount of drama and sexual tension that I didn't want to put it down.
I loved how Quinn and Bellamy get together, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. After their wild heat together, which was sizzling, sexy, and off-the-charts hot; things leave on a frazzled note. But there is still a lot for the duo to overcome; Quinn's horrid ex, Bellamy's desire for independence, and Quinn's desire for possession. There were definitely some massive communication issues but they worked through them eventually.
Overall, I truly enjoyed the story. The pacing was excellent, the sex scenes and chemistry between Quinn and Bellamy was delicious and their coupling didn't seem forced or rushed. If I had to critique anything, there was maybe a little too much back and forth...I would have liked to have seen them learn from their communication breakdown instead of repeating the same mistake several times.
One Wild Heat is omega goodness with forced proximity between strangers during the omegas heat, extremely high steam , a class difference, mating bonds, and a HEA. Can't wait for the rest of the McCreary brothers stories , especially Tanner's because he's a special snowflake.
Favorite Quotes
He licked the inner shell of Bellamy’s ear before he spoke again. “You’re mine, little omega. Mine.”
“I want you to be mine… mine to protect. Mine to love,” Quinn whispered. “Mine to possess.” [...] “And you? Will you be mine, too?” “I already am,” Quinn whispered, driving a little deeper.
“You weren’t completely wrong. I wanted to possess you… but not exactly in the way you think.” “There’s a good way to be possessed?” “There has to be… because you’ve possessed me from the moment you first set eyes on me. And the hell if I want it to stop.”
This was stupid. Like... omegaverse stuff was good, I guess, but I wanted more. Also, I really don't understand these worlds where no women exist... not into it.
First, I was SO DAMN HAPPY when I noticed it was not a first POV. Usually, this genre carries a lot of first POV which in my opinion, it lacks a lot of details. But, onto the book;
I liked the characters at first. I thought the story plot started nicely and developed equally good but then, by the middle, I wanted to first: kick Charles on the balls, second: kick Quinn on the balls and third: kiss Fitz for being so amazing. Also, kudos to Tanner and Beau which I truly enjoyed reading about.
Now, the main characters: Quinn was hot, smart, nice and workaholic but he had his heart in the right place - for most of the story - but, he was also possessive and a bit of an asshole - without intention, I'm sure.
Bellamy was independent, hardworking and with a straight mind. He knew Fitz wasn't for him and while they were friends with benefit, he was true to himself and Fitz and cut the relationship on time and without making his friend think he had more of a chance. Which was nice, also Fitz and the fact that he loved Bell yet supported him and accepted the ending of the relationship was also a great move from the author.
Quinn and Bellamy were so argh! While sex was hot, their relationship was up and down. I don't know if I was rooting for Quinn or for Fitz - tho I leave Fitz for Tanner thank you very much.
Overall, I did not love their relationship and the drama was sometimes a bit absurd, but the world building was very interesting - same with the side characters.
Hi everyone, Its Christopher the reader here and the book we are here to talk about tonight is One wild heat. This book is the first in the series. I first read this book in October and it took me a day to finish reading. I am now going to talk about some of the book details. it was first published on the 17th of May in 2019. It was told using third person with it being in Quinn's and Bellarmy's point of view. The book had 14 chapters and a epilogue.
- I liked the storyline, I found it really interesting.
- I thought that the book had good place and character detail. Knowing the title of the book, I thought that there would have been a bit more smut then there was. it just wasn't as steamy as I'd hoped it would have been. When reading I did find a few things pretty predictable at times. I did like the world-building but I would have liked it a bit more if it had been a little stronger. I did think that it was fast paced, it did feel a bit rushed. To be honest I personally think that I would have liked it a lot more if the book was a lot longer and if it also included one or two wolf transformations, there was no full wolfing out-ness.
- I liked reading about the chemistry between our two main characters (Quinn & Bellamy) I loved their banter that they had and how Bell doesn't easily give in. I also liked how he tried his best to be his own person. My favourite character from the book has to be Tanner, he is a side character. I just loved his character and personality. I would have liked to have read more about the alphas ex boyfriend as it did feel as if He just faded from the pages. Maybe we will get to read more about him in the next book in the series.
-I loved that this book was on audible as when I read and listen to a book at the same time I feel that it gives me a deeper experience. I think that I will probably read the next book in the series sometime soon in the future as it's a story based on one of my favourite characters from this book. I do think that this book would make a pretty good movie. If it ever does get turned into one I would definitely go and watch it.
For each book that I read, I rate it out of 10, so for this I'm going to give it 7. Remember this was what I thought about the book personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself, as it will maybe be one of you're favourites, you never know.
that book was so short woah. tbh i feel let down, i did not care for these characters nearly as much as i cared for any character in the omega quadrant series. there was no tension, no danger, no heartbreak. The whole thing of Charles coming after Bellamy and Quinn to ruin their life was lackluster and soulless. Like i can only compare it to Wynter in OQ series which was the most insane character ive seen. Like there was just no passion in anything so I couldnt connect with them. I hate the name bellamy jesus. Bell and Tanner do seem so cutesie artsy vibe which I like and i think tanner will be my favorite character like avery was in OQ. "Tanner McCreary entered his family's business, sailing past security with wave and a smile... He knew the people moving through the lobby were staring at him as he coasted along-what, with his paint-splattered overalls, bright purple and blue hair, and devil-may-care-attitude-but as advertised, he didn't care. Let them look." I feel like Tanner and Fitz are going to remind me of Avery and Wilder's dynamic but also theyre acting like Lake and Vaughn by delaying the mating. Bellamy and Quinn remind me of Gray and Rohan who's relationship dynamic kind of pissed me off. Bellamy being so "omega rights woohoo" and then saying the grossest mot outdated vows ive seen made me want to vom. I liked Fitz and I appreciate him going to Quinn to tell him Bell needed help. Naming the kid Bellamy's last night was really sweetie actually, especially when he has trauma of not being free.
It was good. Just what I needed, a quick and mindless read to balance out all the mind-fucking philosophy I’ve been learning. The sex, ironically, wasn’t that wild regardless of the name, which I didn’t mind because I don’t particularly care about it. The characters weren’t particularly likeable and the overarching theme was pretty much lust, lust, lust, lust and finally love. But I did like the whole omega rights movement and I felt it was kind of like the women’s rights movements, and not unlike the omegas in this world we’re still being fucked over by alpha men; there were NO women in this world though, I’d have been outraged except the author is a woman so she wasn’t being misogynistic, right? I hope.
I hope the men that read this kind of books —omegaverses— and balk at how the omegas are treated, realize that women all over the world are treated way worse.
Alpha Quinn and omega Bellamy find themselves in an impossible situation – trapped together during a full heat, they have little choice but to follow instinct and rut. The last thing either one of them expect is for it to go any further, or for either of them to want it to. I thoroughly enjoyed this story set in Kelex’s version of the Omegaverse, replete with hot alphas, conflicted omegas, fated mates, and a nasty beta! And the narration by John Solo is… slick! (Just kidding, it’s amazing!) 5 stars
I'm a sucker for good omegaverse stories and this one is really good. Set in the western province among more liberally minded people, omegas enjoy many rights and expect a degree of independence. Quinn and Bellamy meet unexpectedly just as Quinn is going into a very strong heat cycle. The two mate repeatedly, but then go their separate ways to an extent. In this story, there are some unique issues related to the use of modern heat suppressant drugs. There is a ton of passion, chemistry, ego, and love. A fun read!

😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 I tried! I tried okay?
I have this new fond passion for MPreg but unfortunately, to my dismay 😔, most of the MPregs I've found have this persistent theme of apocalyptic alternate universes where only cis men exist and so on, or something like that.
I can't say that I'm a fan....
It just doesn't make sense to me! Why can't the world have MPreg & Omegaverse that includes cis/trans men, cis/trans women, non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer, agender, bigender, two-spirit, androgynous, demigender, gender non-conforming, and gender-questioning people, just like they exist in this world? Why not?
I quickly grew tired of this book's hierarchies of alpha/omega/...
I know... I know that's the theme of Omegaverse... but I didn't have any problem with the amazing work L.C. Davis did in Bro and the Beast... so the issue isn't whether I like Omegaverse or not, it's just the way this world's book is written!
Well, I feel guilty giving this 2 stars bc I know people actually enjoy settings like this one.... so for the exceptionally well-written sex scenes (love me some heat sex 🤗), I'm going to give 2,5~3 stars.
!! I don't equate fiction stories to real life. It's a matter of personal taste and what you are willing or want to tolerate in the books you read. We all have different opinions and preferences when it comes to the kind of books we enjoy, so it's important to respect and remember that it's just a book!!
