Dawn told her story and gave us such an intense look into it all. Addiction, jail, prison, guns, deceit, pregnancy, sober living, ministry living. I think the only part I didn't care for much was the psalms and god talk. But I can respect the author finding her path and love for god, of course. I like how mugshots were shown in this book. All of my love to Dawn, I hope she is doing amazing now. The end of this book includes how another one is coming by her. I'll be there to read it for sure.

I found this story was told with courage and honesty. I love oh I love in the book when she didn’t care about herself God did, like with the judge who let her out on her own recognizance and the warden who let her go to the rehab program and many others. It made me very sad when she was in isolation and got the papers that she lost the rights to her baby son in California.the part was she comes to God and finds his unconditional love is a Beautiful chapter and that alone is worth reading this book for.

my book arrived in the mail this morning and I am almost done it this evening!! I would be done already if I hadn't commited some of my time elsewhere today... I am so proud of you Dawn Searock!! Reading this book it is written with such truth about how easily one is taken over and consumed by addiction you could feel with such raw emotion all she had gone through. It is impossible to just put this book down and walk away!! I may just stay up tonight to finish it!! Such an incredible honest job writing this book!!
This book definitely gives you a different perception on many areas of drug addiction! This book will not only help others addicted but also the friends and families of someone suffering through addiction to understand that recovery is possible !!

I read this book because I have a family member that struggles with addiction. It was so touching and eye opening!! I found myself cheering the author on, disappointed, then encouraged. I cried several times, just knowing this isn't fiction and learned so much about the mindset of an addict. I saw my situation through her eyes. The book does have some spelling and grammatical errors, but I encourage the reader to look past those to really see the heart and soul of the author. Highly recommend! I truly feel like I have a much better understanding of addiction just from reading this book.

I loved this book.
The author doesn't hold anything back as she takes you with her through her struggle with addiction. I image it took a lot of courage to share every part of what she went through, her lowest of lows and all the side effects from being engulfed in active addiction. I'm sure many people will be able to relate to her story and hopefully it will inspire them to get help as she did. And that it will give them hope that they can start a new, happy, and substance free life just as Dawn did. One line I loved is- as long as you have breath there's hope.

Amazing, Read this

If you liked "High Achiever" by Tiffany Jenkins, I guarantee you will love this book. It is raw... That's my warning for Christians interested in this but the story is simply amazing. That someone could beat crack, alcohol, heroin, smoking, pills, methadone, and go on to find true love and a way to help others afflicted in the same way. Oh, and homelessness and prison, and prostitution. I wish her all the best and thank her for writing this. She truly found the love of Jesus. I LOVED this book!

Such an amazing read, I finished it in a day because I couldn’t get myself to put it down. It truly allowed you to submerge yourself into the life and repercussions of addiction. You could truly feel every heartbreaking moment and the agony that follows the day to day battle of addiction. But seeing her dig herself out of the hell she had created was truly inspiring and shows you that no matter what there is always hope.

An absolutely wonderful book! I'm not a reader by any means. But I could not put it down. I didn't want it to end. And that's saying something. I have tried to read so many books but never made it past the 1st chapter. But I couldn't put this book down! I read it in a little over a week! At work in between customers and before bed! Wow wow wow! What a great story about love, addiction, spirituality, jail, and inspiration! What some people can pull through is just so inspiring!

From crack to Christ, Dawn tells her vibrant story of addiction and God’s Forgiveness

Insightful look into an addicts journey through the hustle, incarceration, relapse, recovery, redemption and love. This book is a testament of one woman’s faith in God and how He led her through the depths of hell to find her place in the world where she now thrives.

Thank you Dawn for the insight into the world or addiction. The book is written like you would tell the story to a friend. I have a nephew that's been in active addiction for 7 years. This has softened my heart and made me less angry with him. Theres always hope for him, and anyone in addiction and you've proven that.

Terrific

Great first book and awe-inspiring story of triumph and perseverance over the demon named addiction. Would recommend to anyone looking for an autobiographical rendition of what an addicts life is like during active addiction and how she overcame it. There is struggle and there is joy and there is God.

Raw..vulnerable. Dawn makes you want to be that little voice she hears. Pushing her in the right direction..or shaking her silly asking..Girl ..what the hell are you thinking? She brings you along like a conversation over coffee..needing to get this conversation off her chest ..off her mind. Thank you for allowing us in. Brave soul!

Raw, emotional, and captivating. I couldn’t put it down so I read it in one evening! So thankful to the author for allowing herself to be so vulnerable. A real look into the disturbing haze of drug abuse And the shift into the steady light of our higher power. This book will have you crying for her and praising her triumphs. I loved it.

I could not put this book down and read it in a few hours. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how she was going to get out of the mess that is the life of addiction. This was very raw and I appreciated her truth as she opened her heart with every word that she wrote. I felt her emotion, desperation and pain. I’m proud of you Dawn and I’m happy that you have now found your happiness.

Dawn’s story of addiction and recovery is both heartbreaking and inspiring. She shares with the reader raw, unfiltered experiences that are usually in fiction. Hers however are very real. Follow Dawn through her addiction toward a life of grace, salvation and redemption. Proving without a doubt God’s will be done.

I continue to go back to it for inspiration with the demons (not addiction) that I fight! Thank you Dawn for writing this amazing story of Triumph!

I am ordering a paperback from amazon and am so pleased that Dawn found the strength and courage to go public with her story for The Glory of God. From what I have read so far, her journey makes mine look like a walk in the park. Recommending to all my friends on here too.

This is an honest, raw and truthful account of how Dawn overcame heroin addiction and found God despite immeasurable odds. She spares no details and this is a refreshing story of recovery. Enjoyed the last chapter from her husband, his honesty and love of God.

Hard to follow

I found this book very hard to follow. I understand that it’s a true story, and was told how the author remembers it. It was disjointed and very basic. I commend the author for writing her story.

I love real, raw, honest stories. Dawn did a wonderful job putting herself out there, and it helped me a lot with understanding drug addicts and homeless people in my city. The writing itself could be cleaned up a lot, but the story was much appreciated.

You've seen the movies, heard the stories, but all glossed over. Dawn tells her story from the heart, her trials, her errors, her strengths and her weaknesses.

The details don't neccesarily hurt, but they taught me a lot. My work brings me in to contact with addicts, usually on a daily basis. I don't know there stories, but often think, here we go again, another addict, let the craziness ensue. I found Dawn's story a true eye opener. We tend to forget that underneath what we see is a true person, full of pain and in a circle of self destruction that they can't find a way out of, but desperately do.

Her story is one that everyone should read. She doesn't hold back with the things shes done. She doesn't make excuses for herself, which is refreshing and takes this book to the next level. She takes us through the times in her life that most people would be afraid to reveal to others, and does it with such honesty that it truly is a learning experience for the reader. I cried, and on a rare occasion laughed with her while I felt like I was walking right along with her every moment of her book.

She found her way from rock bottom through God and his word. She has strength and love from Him and her family. The words of her husband wrap this book up with respect, understanding and proof that everyone deserves to be loved. Dawn's book has an ending, but her story is still going on every single day.

Hello Readers of my first published work, Junkie: Madness to Ministry. Your reviews are what lift me up when I am feeling down. They make me cry, they make me smile but mostly they make me feel loved.
I want those who purchased the first edition to know that I did rewrite to remove the errors, expounding on the most difficult part of recovery, the consequences , and the far too many exclamation points!!! 😂
I was also able to add all of my mugshots and others of my life today. I hope you will consider purchasing the serving edition for a much better read and much more experiences that I held back in the first edition, as I was not strong enough to share in the original copy.
Thank you one and all for all of your support, encouragement and love. I truly do not believe I would still be in recovery without you as I am living a very difficult life currently due to chronic illness, a direct consequence of my addiction.
Be Blessed and Love the ones you’re with! Look for the miracles in all things. Share Love with all. Smile at strangers! Hold the door for others, stop and listen to another’s story, more importantly… share yours!
Much love❤️ Dawn Searock

I am going through somedark places myself. Have had/ has addictions. And I know who my savior is. Dawn's story took me to places/ reminded me of how much our God loves us. NO Matter WHAT WE HAVE DONE. I still go through times of not fully believing God loves me a horrible sinner. By He does. Knowing that keeps me going everyday. Dawn if you read this, I'm VERY proud of you. Your sister in Christ, MaryAnn

Excellent

I would recommend this book to anyone trying in life. Dawn proves that nothing is impossible for our God. God had his hand on Dawn from the beginning of the book. The reader doesn't figure that out until the end. It was raw in many ways and painful as well. The part where her boyfriend turned her in made me angry but it is what saved her life. I hope the author writes another book.. God bless all those struggling through life.
