“My little mountain. You’ll be the death of me.” - Belial
In the previous instalment Aspen suffered the crushing loss of an important figure in her life. Struggling to comes to terms with her grief and the betrayal of another, Aspen finds herself increasingly reliant on Belial for support. Torn between two soulmates, Aspen knows she must eventually make a difficult choice.
When St Michaels Academy is targeted by Azazel in his search for Aspen, those that manage to survive take refuge at Belial’s safe house. With the Head Minister still feigning ignorance of the impending threat posed by Azazel and silencing those who would expose him, it’s up to the rest of the Shadowguard and their demon allies to take on Azazel alone.
When they are betrayed by one of their own, and later captured, the odds suddenly shift in Azazel’s favour. Their only hope lies with Aspen and her unpredictable powers but at what terrible cost?
Demon War is the final exhilarating instalment of what has been an epic series. Fast paced, exciting and jam packed with a tumultuous range of emotions, I don’t think this book could have been any better. The chemistry between the leads was amazing and watching their love unfold was moving.
This has been a thoroughly entertaining series and it’s always sad to say goodbye to characters that one has become invested in. However I was pleased that the authors managed to tie up all the loose ends in a way that was satisfying and yet hints at the possibility of there being more.
Highly recommended for fans of urban fantasy, paranormal romance, academy books, demons, guardians, vampires, werewolves, strong female leads, soulmates, mysteries etc
She got over her depression in the span of a few pages.
She asks questions about EVERYTHING.
She has no idea what goes on around her. She is literally surprised about every little detail regarding this resistance that she is smack down in the middle of.
And she is such a pick me girl. I actually felt bad for Logan even though I haven’t ever really liked him. I definitely feel bad for Belial, because he is such a sweetheart, and she just keeps dragging him along.
I was happy about his ending though. I kind of wish he would have some special powers because he has lived so long with them, but still.
Did someone forget to print the last pages of the book? A final installment wraps up loose ends. Not just one, but all of them. Major disappointment...
Great characters with just the right amount of romance. Every author has a slightly different approach to the supernatural world. This is one of the more entertaining ones 👍
Where was the epilogue? I was keen to see how the whole soulmate thing would work out, but I was left with more questions.
There were unanswered questions, and I don't think it's fair to sign up for a newsletter or whatever to find out what happened, that's the whole point of buying the book. Anything else is a bonus.
What an ending this book was. Full of action and the power she has was amazing. I loved how the love slowly came together. It’s been an amazing journey throughout the whole series. Fantastic series
What a tale. Great ending to an action packed series. Aspen goes through much in this last installment. There's joy, sorrow, fear, fighting, happiness and finally love. Just the right amount of romance and conflict. Mix in some more twists and turns, several jaw-dropping revelations, even a little heartbreak, and this book had me turning the pages until I reached the end. I would love to see another story about Aspen and the crew because she deserves it. It's a never want to put down series.
This book was an amazing ending to the series. I loved it. While it was a little slow at first—which is understandable, as Aspen had been through a lot and needed time to process it all—there was a lot of action, too. Mix in some more twists and turns, several jaw-dropping revelations, and even a little heartbreak, and this book had me turning the pages until I reached the end. And, wow, what an ending it was. I didn’t see that coming at all, but I’m so glad it did.
Absolutely loved this series. Came up as a recommendation on Facebook, and so glad it did. Excellent conclusion to the series, yet hints at the possibility of more. Great characters, scene setting, and despite the number of books available in this genre, still manages to be unique.
I have mixed feelings. I'm happy with who Aspen ended up with from the love triangle, but for someone with so much power, she was pretty weak and pathetic. Definitely could have been more of a badass.
Wow enjoyed this series soooo much and glad of the ending absolutely amazing but poor logan if aspen don't want him I will happily make room in my life for him
