Following the death of her twin sister and the abuse of her sadistic ex-boyfriend, Lillian Gillespie drove away from her home to flee her heart-wrenching grief. Exhausted, numb from sorrow, she drives into a snowstorm and ends up stranded on a Montana back road. The last thing Doctor Mitchell Hoffstetter wanted was to put up a stranded motorist at his cabin, but seeing the bruises marring Lillian’s face stifles his irritation. He couldn’t help offering comfort when her grief kept her awake, and for all her sass and independence, she succumbed to his commands and touch without pause. They went their separate ways the next day unable to forget that one hour. Mitchell soon discovers Lillian is living in the motel in town. He offers his garage apartment which leads to another opportunity to show she wasn’t as opposed to his dominance as she claimed. Lillian discovers a side of her she couldn’t control whenever Mitchell leveled one of those potent gazes her way and showed her ways of pleasure she never imagined she would embrace. It takes a threat to Lillian’s life for Mitchell to admit his sassy, independent tenant and lover had found a way through his grief to his heart, but had they both waited too long to express their feelings or would he and their friends ride to her rescue in time for them to start over together? This is book seven in the Cowboy Doms series but can be enjoyed independently.Publisher’s This contemporary western romance is intended for adults only. It contains elements of mystery, suspense, danger, sensual scenes, adult themes and power exchange. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.
I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively, but I much prefer being a homebody.
I began writing erotic novels with an emphasis on erotic spanking five years ago never dreaming that I would get published. I just celebrated the release of my eleventh title and am very thankful to my publisher, Pink Flamingo, for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy a fun career. While my earlier books lean more towards straight erotica that will appeal to only a very select audience, my last five books are erotic romances. I enjoy hearing all comments from readers. You can reach me at BJWane@cox.net.
If you're looking for a consensual BDSM romance between two likeable, slightly older characters, you will enjoy this. Though the dominant doctor and assertive artist initially seem incompatible, both Mitchell and Lillian have lost people near and dear to them; coped with grief by running from it; and rekindle emotions each thought were long buried via their slow-burn relationship.
I took off a star because the writing is repetitious (we get the same information over and over again) and Ms. Wane's plots increasingly veer too far into melodrama for me. While I do like some substance to anchor my kink, I encourage this author -- who I always enjoy -- to overhaul the "Cowboy Doms" template so that every plot does not feature an endangered sub. I did appreciate, however, that the MC's main threat here was not the stereotypical, mustache-twirling villain.
Otherwise, I recommend this highly.
4 stars. Though this is the seventh in a series and characters from previous books appear, it's possible to read as a stand-alone. I do warn potential readers that one scene of domestic violence might be a trigger for some.
A Non-ARC Reader Who Knows How To Use The Spoiler Formatting
I still intend to read this since I really like this author, but given that one reviewer on this page has detailed most of the plot, there will be no suspense in it for me.
I encourage Ms. Wane to ask this particular ARC reader to desist from revealing salient plot points in her reviews. Thank you.
ETA: Okay, now I'm going to amend this to two ARC reviewers.
What a great addition to a new series, Cowboy Doms. There are several authors that, as soon as I see a new book by them, I can’t wait to read, and Ms. BJ Wane is one of those authors. She has a way of spinning a tale with a great cast of characters and excellent dialog and interaction. Her women are strong, feisty, and her men are dominant alphas, making for a perfect combination. While these stories will read well as stand-alone, they do have many characters from previous books.
The story is an emotional roller-coaster ride, one with mystery, suspense, danger, secrets, angst, and also healing and second chances. It will bring two opposites together—and the saying that opposites attract seems to fit. As I said in my last review, I wanted to see Dr. Mitchell Hoffstetter find someone special to love. It’s been two years since the death of his beloved wife, Abbie, who was not only his wife but his full time submissive. But what is coming his way will challenge the good doctor.
Lillian Gillespie is in an emotional turmoil, having just left the facility that was caring for her comatose twin sister, Liana, who has just died. With nothing left to hold her in Salt Lake City, this is her time to break free, and she will go to Brad’s house and pack her things a leave. No more will he hold her hostage and issue threats against her sister.
“I’m free, but god, sis, I never wanted to get away from him at your expense.”
The plot will have Lillian loading her car to be free of Brad finally and his cruelty, and just as she is ready to take her paintings to her car, he comes home and attacks her. But this time is different, while he leaves marks on her face that can be seen, Lillian fights back and gets a hit in and leaves. She doesn’t know where she will go; she has cleaned out her bank account and just drives. She will get caught in a blizzard in Montana and miss her exit and then spin into a tree. Dr. Mitch Hoffstetter is at his retreat cabin and hears the crash, only because he was outside gathering wood. Now he finds himself with an unwanted guest during the storm.
The story will bring the two most unlikely people together, first as a matter of survival and then as a courtesy. Mitch knows there is more to Lillian’s story about who beat her up and why but doesn’t pry into her business. After all, she is just a passing stranger. But, as Lillian stays in town to heal and form a plan for her future, she gets to know the ladies of the town, and before you know it, she is invited to a night at The Barn. She has only experienced a small touch of BDSM with Mitch, and now she has the chance to explore that deeper. But, Lillian is adamant she is not submissive and has a stubborn streak to her. Will she learn more about herself as she surrenders to Master Mitchell?
Trouble is heading her way, and she must decide if she is going to stay or leave. Just when she feels like maybe she and the doc have a chance, she misunderstands him and decides to call it quits. The story takes on danger and suspense, and in the end, Lillian learns how loyal the people of Willow Springs are for someone they call their own.
The story will include explicit scenes at the cabin and at The Barn between Lillian and Mitchell, along with BDSM and erotic spankings. The chemistry between the characters sizzles off the pages. When the danger has passed, what will the future hold for these two opposites?
“There were some perks to shacking up with a man into kinky pleasures.”
“Funny, isn’t it,” she murmured, “how we both ended up here, grieving, and found a new home in the process?”
* How did the book make you feel?: I enjoyed this book.
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: The pacing of the story was good. I thought there was a bit of instalove and the H really didn’t fight his attraction at all for the h. I would’ve liked a bit more conflict.
* What did you think about the main characters?: I thought the H was sexy and I liked his bluntness. The h was pragmatic but she would’ve made things easier on herself had she been more forthcoming.
* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: The sexy scenes were smoldering!
* What themes/tropes did you detect in the story?: bdsm club, cowboy dom, widower and domestic violence victim, overcoming grief and moving on
* What did you think about the ending?: I enjoyed the ending and I liked that the brother didn’t succeed in his plans. I hate the abusing ex got off so easily, though. I imagined he’d find another victim.
* What is your impression of the author?: This was my first read by this author and I will read more.
Possible Triggers and Safety: domestic violence, traumatic brain injury

I listened to the audio book and 20 mins from the end I found myself saying 'wait, we're already to the end?' I thought things were progressing too quickly in the end for my liking and the middle did drag a bit. Granted, I've read the other books in the series and know the author likes to wrap up the suspense very quickly, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the abruptness. The going from like to love so quickly threw me off though.
That said, I did enjoy this one. Lillian was not a natural submissive, at least not the stereotypical one. She was headstrong, defiant, argumentative, but loyal and kind. So I appreciated the change-up in character. I also liked that she was a total bada** when it came to her ex. She fought back with all that she had when he decided to hit her after her sister died. And he got exactly what he deserved (Speaking of that - what ever happens to him? Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall an update on him, only the brother).
Dr. Hoffstetter (love that probable ode to Leonard on Big Bang Theory) was hot, commanding, caring and kind. Did I mention hot? He did come off a bit broody when he first meets Lillian, but after learning why he was at the cabin, I get it. He was still grieving the loss of his wife to cancer 18 months ago, but he was still willing to open his heart to love. I really loved him for that since I expected him to be the reluctant one.
They both fall in love and to me it didn't seem very realistic. They had intense chemistry but they never go on dates, except to their friend's houses. They do have a lot of scenes both at the club and at home, but that doesn't equal love. I could see them falling in love, just not as quick as it happened without them really getting to know more about one another and live life together out in the open. I did find myself wanting a look further into their future. I don't think there are any other books in the series, so it would have been nice to get an update a couple years down the road.
Two broken, grieving people find solace and love together!
Lillian is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend immediately following the death of her sister, and ends up crashing into a ditch in the middle of a blizzard, near the hideaway cabin of Dr. Mitchell Hoffstetter, a dom who is quietly marking the first anniversary of his wife's death. Of course he rescues Lillian, and their few days stuck in his remote cabin are enough to both ignite the flame of attraction and to convince them both that there's nothing even close to compatibility on which to build a relationship.
As Lillian settles into the small town, she's convinced that she could never be happy in the role of a sub, and despite her attraction to Mitchell she knows she can't be what he needs. But Mitchell is determined to expose her to the club so she knows exactly what the whole scene entails, believing that she can't say she wouldn't enjoy it unless she's tried it first.
The romance that builds on their friendship is solid, but the physical aspect of their relationship didn't feel honest on Lillian's part. She's wildly attracted to him, but he's made it so clear that any kind of intimacy will always be in their dom/sub roles. It seemed to me that she convinced herself she could accept those terms because that's the only way she would be able to have a relationship with Mitchell. I would have felt their relationship was on a more solid foundation if she were able to embrace the dom/sub lifestyle for herself, or if Mitchell had been able to relax his approach outside of the club scene. As it was written, it felt like Lillian was compromising something she believed strongly about herself, because the alternative was not having Mitchell at all.
Still, they have a wonderful HEA after decisively dealing with a villain from her past - and not the one you'd expect. Their love does a beautiful job of comforting their grief, giving them both a much-needed fresh start. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
After the death of her twin sister, Lillian Gillespie leaves her abusive boyfriend, hitting him back when he hits her and tries to stop her. She flees the house and keeps on driving until she gets in an accident avoiding a moose in a snowstorm near Dr. Mitchell Hoffstetter's house. They're stranded together, and while she doesn't like pushy men, she's drawn to Mitchell. But her ex-boyfriend's detective brother is after her for her "unprovoked" attack on his brother and will stop at nothing to bring her to justice.
The last in the Cowboy Doms series is a successful wrap up of the previous books. In introducing Lillian to the other characters, the author is able to show the audience how everyone is still happy in love (and many are happily having babies). The story of Lillian and Mitchell is good, though not terribly original -- until the part where they stop her kidnapping. It's still a very solid, interesting, well-written book.
Now that I have reached the end of the series, I can safely say that THIS was my favorite book in it. I liked that these characters are not in the first flush of youth and have a little history and baggage behind them. It makes for interesting reading. I loved that this story shows us the angst and self-doubt Lillian has over being such an independent person yet also being intrigued by submission. I really appreciated that Lillian stood up to Mitchell when he got too bossy and demanding for her peace of mind. I was also very impressed that the author showed him tempering some of his more high-handed ways for her. The best takeaway I have from this story, the one I will cherish most, is that while it’s not often easy it is possible to find love again after loss. I received a complimentary copy of this through Booksprout as part of the box set.
Filled with grief and fleeing an abusive boyfriend, our heroine gets into an accident, only to be rescued by our hero. He extends a helping hand, and then offers a bit stricter guidance for the future.
This is book seven in the series, but it stands perfectly well on its own. Feel free to start anywhere in the series.
This is an erotic romance story with elements of D/S and punishment (spankings). The story is well written and easy to read proceeding at a nice pace that is rather enjoyable. The characters are also well developed and have just the right amount of conflict in their personalities to really fit well together. Add in the suspense of the ex with the bits of steam we get and you have a very potent mix. Overall, I found the story to be quite engaging and it kept me turning pages to see what came next.
Highly recommended.

This is the 7th book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Lillian’s twin sister just died and nothing is keeping her in Salt Lake City any longer and is ready to leave her abusive boyfriend. She gets caught in a blizzard and goes into the ditch where she is found by Dr. Mitch Hoffstetter. He takes her home and tends to her injuries. Sparks fly between them and his Dom side shows itself which Lillian likes. What will happen when she decides to stick around town for a while? Fast-paced read with lots of emotion, drama and steam. I loved the intense chemistry and the story really drew me in. I loved it.
This is one of those books that feels like the author had a word count goal and was going to achieve that in spite of the flow of the book. That said, Mitchell and Lillian's story was an interesting on the usual abusive ex-boyfriend/saved by the Dom genre (yes, it's a genre). I've not read any of the other books in this 7 book series, but you don't need to. It can be read as a standalone. A good read.

This story is actually quite OK but I ended up speed reading a good part of it as it felt drawn out and too extended. The story as such is good but could easily shrink down by a chapter or two. Despite liking it, I cannot give out more than beautiful three stars. This is just my opinion and I hope that you still give it a chance, read it and give it your opinion too.

There’s a difference between controlling and ‘bossy’
This book came recommended in a newsletter and it didn’t disappoint. The strong alpha male and the woman on the run from an abusive partner isn’t new, but I like the twist BJ Wane gave it. The story is well-written and well-paced.
Oh what a pleasure it was to read this book...after a long wait...lol...I couldn't wait to start reading it...love the dynamics between The Doc and Lillian...I am a twin to my identical sister and the thought of losing her makes me understand the great sorrow and deep sadness Lillian goes through...it was beautifully written and a joy to read.
Another wonderful addition to this D/s series, riveting read…. Lillian has been through hell since her sister slipped in to a coma, threatened by her boyfriend that should she fail to obey he would devise some drug of choice that would cause her twin sister Liliana to suffer unimaginable agony. More than accustomed to Brads fists and the excellent ability he had for maximum pain with minimum show she believed he will do everything he says, when she had packed and been leaving the home she’d been forced to share he had viciously attacked her but she had fought back and every bit of anger, desperation and sheer bloody mindedness had allowed her to escape once and for all. And had unfortunately she had been caught in a snow storm and had driven off the road, Mitchell had not been able to believe the bruised and battered females face peering out the windscreen at him. She had obviously been badly beaten and had been trying to escape, he had taken her in and cared for her and they had become two individuals suffering from broken hearts and they had found each other and started to begin to heal. As Mitchell introduces this very opinionated women to his alternative lifestyle of D/s they soon realised that they had something very precious and that they wanted to nurture it and see where it leads. Unfortunately her boyfriends brother is on the hunt for the abusive ex-girlfriend that refused to leave when his brother had told her the relationship was over, she had struck him and had left him injured which he was going to ensure she was charged for, he had always believed his baby brother lies but this time she had proof. Bryan knew that he had to find the photographs and the return her to face the charges of assault. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Submitting to the Doctor is the seventh book in the Cowboy Doms series. While it could stand alone, there are a lot of characters from previous books in the series. Lillian is finally free of her abusive ex, but during an unexpected snowstorm, she crashes her car. Luckily, Mitchell heads the crash and comes to her rescue. She wants nothing to do with his dominance, but he can’t help but give her what she needs. Will their opposite views and messy pasts draw them together with love and healing, or are they fundamentally just too different to find a future?
My heart was pounding during this entire book, with the chemistry between Mitchell and Lillian and the suspense woven within the pages, I just did not want to put this book down! Seriously, I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book, it was just so good and captivating! Lillian was strong down to her core, with a huge heart and lots of loyalty, but her past with her ex and the pain of losing her twin sister drive her strongly. It was beautiful watching her learn to trust and open up to Mitchell and his dominance. I loved Mitchell as her doctor, her friend, her protector, and her lover. He found the best ways to challenge her, pushed her a bit past her limits, but never too far and was always there to catch her. Their scenes together were hot, full of chemistry, tension, sass, a bit of angst, and eventually trust and love! I can honestly say that I was surprised there was no medical play in this book, but I loved their scenes and thought they fit perfectly with this romance! Add in the suspense and I was completely hooked from page one. This series has been amazing, dreamy, steamy, and had me on the edge of my seat, and this book was no exception!
Doctor Mitchell Hoffstetter was the chief trauma surgeon at Denver Health. Unfortunately, after a long battle with cancer, there was nothing his skill or connections could do for his wife and submissive of eight years. After eighteen months he sold the house they had shared, resigned from his position, and moved to Montana. With the move, he decided to take on less stress with a position of family practitioner and make himself the promise to never allow anyone to get that close again. Lilian and Liana were twins. They gone through every change together for thirty-four years, including burying their parents. Then Liana had a brain aneurysm that ruptured. Once the hospital got her stabilized she was taken to a long term care facility with no real hope of recovering. Six weeks later, Liana passed leaving Liliana on her own. If there was a silver lining in any of this, it was the fact she was now free of her abuser and ex-boyfriend, renowned neurosurgeon Doctor Brad McCabe who had used his threats to torture Liana if she were to leave him. Now that she was free of him she vowed never to give control to another human being ever again. This is the first book by BJ Wane so I had no idea what to expect with the writing style, world-building, or character portrayal. Truthfully, the interactions between all Lilian, Mitchel and even the townspeople are so inclusive and relatable I felt like I was a part of things. I was lucky enough to receive this ARC from Booksprout. Now, I'm definitely going to need to backtrack and read the previous books to this series. This is my voluntary and honest review.
Submitting to the Doctor is a wonderful read. The storyline surprisingly drew me in right from the beginning. Mitchell and Lillian start off with mixed emotions. Neither character is looking to find the other but sometimes the best laid plans don't work out and fate steps in and takes over. These characters each carry a deep amount of emotional turmoil. The coupling of these characters was wonderful. As a doctor, Mitchell has seen abuse victims and knows how to deal with not just the physical damage but the emotional side effects that can take the victim on journey to find healing as well. Little does he know that by helping her to heal, he finds himself on his own journey to move forward after a devastating loss. The interactions and emotions range from happiness, loneliness, emotional turmoil, relief, and even just every day feelings. They find each other frustrating and yet challenging. With these two characters, they never seem to have a dull moment. The emotions are real, the love scenes are erotic, the discipline well written, and the journey together a rollercoaster to eventually find their happily ever after. Overall I really enjoyed this story and recommend you give this book a read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

This is another great story in the Cowboy Doms series of BJ Wane. I have read and reviewed some of the other books in the series, and this is up to the standard of the previous stories, which I have enjoyed. Lillian is an artist and very independent woman who lost her twin sister to a medical problem, and has escaped an abusive relationship. Mitchell is a surgeon and a Dom who lost his first wife to cancer and has moved to a small town in Montana to open a family practice and forget what he lost. They meet when she has an accident near his cabin, and over time a relationship develops slowly – held back in both cases by their feelings for the person they lost. There are other problems involving the brother of Lillian’s abuser, but in the end things work out. Both characters were strong and thoughtful, and gradually realized all that the other offered to them, including a developing interest in BDSM and a terrific sexual relationship. Although the book is part of a series, and characters from other books in the series appear in it, it isn’t necessary to have any of this background; the book stands on its own. This is the seventh book in the Cowboy Doms series and, as with all the others, can easily be read as a stand-alone story. It is also one of the best of all the stories in this series. You may find the opening chapters are hard to read, as there are many potential triggers seeing that Lillian not only suffers the passing of her twin sister but also physical and mental abuse from her doctor “boyfriend”. Be forewarned that you will get angry. As she flees these two horrible occurrences she gets lost in a snowstorm and crashes into a snowbank. Believe it or not, this is the start of her recovery. Her rescuer is Doctor Mitchell Hoffstetter, a man dealing with his own grief, and he is NOT happy with her intrusion into what was meant to be his mini-retreat from his busy practice in town. This too is the start of his recovery. The slow, thoughtful, approach taken by the author in developing the budding emotional relationship between Lillian and Mitchell is a joy to behold. The transition from adversaries to a D/s relationship goes from impossible to possible to probable in a believable way. A twisted cop and a kidnapping add some action and suspense to the story. Yes there are spankings, and yes there is sex, but the real story is the evolution of recovery and love. 5 Stars. Despite the pain of the past a new future was waiting for them! by sewsummore
I found this book a rewarding read about two strangers who become isolated in a rustic cabin during a heavy storm. Both Lillian and Mitchell had lost someone they loved and were fighting a battle just to keep the pain of loss away. Mitchell was a Doctor and Dom, and he could see the pain Lillian was experiencing both physical and mental. Lillian was a woman who had suffered at the hands of a domineering ex-boyfriend and was determined not to submit to Mitchell's high handed ways no matter how attractive that man was. It was the interaction between these to characters that had me engrossed in this story. Despite the pain of his past, Mitchell was attracted to the woman who now occupied his thoughts. The attraction between them grew into a future that was happier and brighter for the love they had for each other. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and have voluntarily given an honest review.
Another rocking story from the inimitable Bj Wane. I loved it from the very first page and couldn’t put it down until I had finished it, such an easy enjoyable storyline in this wonderful book of the Cowboy Dom’s series. Please pretty please keep this series going I have simply loved everyone of them. Dr Mitchell Hoffstetter was certainly my type of family physician kind but strong and a great Dom who had lost his perfect wife and submissiveto to cancer. He sold his marital home and moved from Denver to live in Willow Spring. Lillian Gillespie had also seen her twin sister Llana pass away to a brain aneurysm. Now all on her own and fled from her boyfriend Brad, who was abusive and controlling and sadistic! She was on her way to nowhere when she crashed her car. Who will save her and point her in the right direction in her life and future, to heal and gain her strength at the loss of her beautiful sister? What did Brad and his brother have over Lillian? Will Mitchell’s bossiness and her curiosity at The Barn seal her future and will Brad her ex let her gain peace and will they find out where Lillian is holed up? A great read I can highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy
Lillian: Her twin sister is dead, and now she has to go, she has no more ties here and Brads threat cannot hold her here no longer but before she goes brad comes home, the confrontation isnt good and she flees after been beaten. She drives till she nearly has an accident and is rescued by Mitchell, who has a cabin in the woods and needs alone time. There is attraction between them both but neither is willing to admit that to themselves. After the snow stops and she is taken back into town where she befriends a few women who know Mitchell. She is introduced to the BDSM club, but its MItchell who shows her around and gives her a sample of what its like to submit to a Master. But un beknownst to Lillian Brads brother is out to find her and take her back home!!!!!
Totally enjoyable to read , i loved this story. I possibly havnt done it justice in the review, but i didnt want to give to much away for spoilers, it definately is worth one clicking. 5 stars
Lillian knew Brad, her husband was scheduled for surgeries all morning. She knew she wanted to leave him for good and never look back but as she was leaving with 2 of her paintings, he walked in and began to punch her in the face and kicked her in the ribs before she raised on her paintings at his head and she let him know she had pictures of all the times he brought abuse against her. She had just lost her twin sister, Liana . She drove to the bank, removed her money and then to a drug store to purchase supplies to fix her face and bandage her ribs. She drove on until she was in the worst snowstorm and ended up losing control and ended up in a snow drift. She is rescued by Mitchell and the rest of the story has a lot of twists and turns. You must read.

BJ Wane is one of my go to authors for a read that I know I'm going to enjoy. Of course, there are always some that I prefer over others because that's how personal preferences work. This book, I enjoyed but didn't love. We're thrown right into Lillian's really heart wrenching reality and are with her as she runs from her abusive relationship. Which brings her to Montana in a snowstorm & Mitchell. I adored Mitchell, who is already dealing with his own grief & loss but finds himself drawn to Lillian. Once he accepts this, he's all in & (here I struggled) didn't deserve Lillian's unfounded unpleasantness towards him. This is just my personal feelings & while I did have sympathy for what she had gone through & was still going through with her grief, I didn't find her particularly likable in her continual argumentative snarkiness.
WOW – what a story! This is my first book from this author and well I hate that I missed six books from this series already!!! Love me a DOM but these cowboys are something else. This book is about Mitchell and Lillian. Although they stories are sad to begin with, they end up with a very happy one! There is action in the book with men not knowing when to stop and hitting women, but it is also with a woman who is determined enough is enough. Mitchell lost his first love to cancer while Lillian lost her sister to an aneurysm. Their paths met up, but boy is Mitchell bossy, but what better than to give him a feisty woman to keep him on his toes. I love the book, yes if you’re not into the DOM/SUB then this might not be for you, but if you are, get ready to get heated up…

I stumbled upon a series, this is book seven in the Cowboy Doms series. I have some back peddling to do but this book can be read on its own. Meet Lillian and Mitchell. Lillian is determined to move forward and leave her grief and an ex behind. Until she is stopped by a snowstorm where she meets Mitchell. Mitchell finds and helps Lillian against his original thoughts, especially after he sees bruises. These two attempt to separate but fate is insistent in getting these two together. Lillian learns more about herself and Mitchell as time goes by but can she make that final leap? A good story about a woman that needs to fresh start to find herself and find her own, true happiness. She just happens to find a strong willed, sexy, alpha male along the way that assists her. Enjoy!

—>>> Lillian Gaines finds herself settling in the little town of Willow Springs, first by holing up with a man who has no choice, really, but to share his isolated cabin with her during a particularly nasty snowstorm, and then by kindness shown by the close-knit townsfolk. But it is not until the surly Mitchell Hoffstetter finds himself opening up his grieving heart that Lillian may begin to believe that they could have something beyond their wild attraction for each other. While they both carefully but willingly explore the possibilities brewing between them, either of their still-tangible pasts could end shutting down any hope of a relationship…for good. Both Lillian and Mitchell had moved away for fresh starts and to grieve their respective losses, and that part was well written, as was their curiosity for each other’s life-changing experiences.
I received this book as a ARC read and voluntarily provide me review. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. Good read. The book is about Lillian, a strong woman who had lived with an abusive ex by coersion. She is coping with the loss of her twin sister. She runs away and is rescued by the Towns dominant alpha doctor who is also dealing with loss. The Sparks fly! This book has a some storyline to it, some good action and great romance. I thought the end came a bit quick with less detail but nothing to take away from the book or content, more just preference. The book does have a few editing errors but overall Recommend.

Lillian is escaping from an abusive relationship when she crashed her car in a snowstorm beside Mitchell's cabin hideaway. Doctor Mitchell Hofstetter is having a solo pity party on the anniversary of his wife's death, when he rescues Lillian. As she succumbs to the friendly townspeople of Willow Springs, she tried to fight the growing feelings she has for this dominant male. After all, she has already had one controlling relationship.
Towards the end the author mixes up the female names which is quite confusing. There is less emphasis on the 'club' in this book and more about the two main characters in a personal level. All the usual old characters are back like one big happy family.
We are finally at book number seven of BJ Wane’s very hot and steamy Cowboy dom series. This is the book that I’ve been very impatiently waiting for. We finally get to Dr Mitchell Hofstetter’s book. He’s been mourning the loss of his wife for years, and made the move to Montana to get away. Lillian runs from a crazy ex and ends up in MItchell’s arms. I don’t want to give too much away. (spoilers...yuck!) But these two have a lot of demons to get through before they can get together, including the brother of Lillian’s ex, who wants to be sure that Lillian can’t get his brother into any kind of trouble.. So he’s tying up loose ends.
As always, I just loved the characters and the return of past characters from past friends in the series, but I was wanting so much more.. ( I could say THAT about pretty much all the great books I read!)
