What do Jessica Hawkins, A.L. Jackson, Tia Louise, Harloe Rae, and Lauren Rowe have in common...Well, besides being first-class authors...

Is it their ability to weave a captivating tale...Or their talent to create something from nothing and make us want to know every single thing about it...

I think it is the fact they all have this way with words causing our hearts to beat harder, or minds to think deeper and our smiles to shine brighter.

These wonderful spinners of tales got together and brought this anthology of five full-length books. Enjoy.

Okay, so this is my first time reading a romance book like this: a collection of totally different romance stories with totally different characters in each, not related to one another, and I have most of the stories were good, not GREAT, just good. Hence, why I gave the whole book only 3 stars. I DID like one story more than the others, but I decided it’d be best to go story-by-story, rather than just tell why my favorite IS my favorite among these 5 stories, starting with the 1st one:

Story #1: Yours To Bare—This story started off good, but then the MMC, Finn, got WAY to controlling for me to really like him. It was like, “Ok, I thought the FMC, Halston, WAS trying to escape her over-baring and controlling father, and then Finn becomes the controlling one . . . ? Okay . . . ” They say “you fall in love with your father”, but this just seemed too much for me . . . No wonder Halston started to pull away. And here’s another thing that seemed just a BIT too unbelievable for me (& yes, I’m aware that this IS a romance novel, BUT a really GOOD romance novel HAS to be believable to some degree for it to work, in my opinion): Finn asked Halston to move in with him WITHOUT even having met his DAUGHTER yet (Finn had a daughter with his ex-wife before) . . . Like, “Excuse me, WHAT?!?!” Now to be fair, by the end, the characters DO realize they moved WAY too fast (which IS nice to see), but still . . .

Story #2: Show Me The Way—Now, this story is my FAVORITE story of the collection by FAR!! I LOVED it! In fact, I LOVED it so much that I stopped reading this collection of stories for a bit to read the rest of the books in THIS series. (This is the 1st book of a 4-part series.) (That's why it took me so long to read the rest of the stories in THIS book; I even got some MORE books to read by this author later on.) And the twist at the end was . . . Oh, my God, I didn’t see it coming AT ALL!! (I’m not gonna tell you what the twist is, of course, because that would be a MAJOR spoiler.) And Frankie, the daughter of the MMC, Rex, was just the SWEETEST little girl EVER!

Story #3: Make Me Yours—Welcome to the story with the MOST unbelievable romantic beginning EVER! Okay, so imagine this, if you will: a single dad of a 4-year-old happens to meet a beautiful your therapist at a bar one night, starts talking to her, & then asks, completely OUT OF NOWHERE, if she would come be his nanny for his 4-year-old! AND that he would pay her $500 A WEEK! Like, “I’m sorry, WHAT?!?!” Was she, Ruby, the MFC, even good with children?! He, Remi, the MMC, didn’t know . . . Did Ruby even LIKE children?! Remi didn’t know . . . ALL he knew at this point was that Ruby was a therapist & that she wasn’t very sure that she liked the job & was looking for another one right now! At that point, Remi didn’t even know if she even was a CHILD’s therapist! Anyway, aside from that UNBELIEVABLE start to the story, the rest of the story was good . . . The grandma of the 4-year-old was a little much to me . . . Like, “C’mon, woman! The child is 4!!” And I DID like the fact that Ruby was Korean, so this was a nice bi-racial couple romance . . . Kinda like Crazy Rich Asians, honestly, except that Remi was white, not Asian . . .

Story #4: Breaker—This story would have been my 2nd favorite of the collection, IF only it wouldn’t have been SO unnecessarily LONG. This could have been a really nice 2nd chance, short-story romance, BUT the author had to add this crooked police officer who was obsessed with the MFC, Sutton, for ABSOLUTELY no reason!! And that part added the LONGEST ending that I felt was COMPLETELY unnecessary to the story. It just added a totally unnecessary conflict to a short-story that should have been finished by then in my opinion. Also, I didn’t like Sutton’s nickname in the story, Sutt. It sounds too much like another “impolite” word for a woman, to me. (I say “impolite” because I do not want to use real word here because I do not want this review to be taken down, but I think you get what word I’m getting at here . . . 😉) Also, after that long-winding ending, I felt it all came to a happy ending too quickly . . . Like after all that unnecessary conflict happened, it’s like, “So should we get married?” (And, yes, I understand that this IS a romance novel & yes, I like happy endings to romance novels as much as the next woman who also likes romance novels, but . . . ) How about first moving in together first? Maybe figure out if they actually like each other enough to live together long-term? And then maybe have like an Epilogue with them happily married in the future . . . ?

Story #5: Captain—Welcome to the romance story with way TOO many chapters!! Lol 😆 Seriously, though!! I never thought I’d complain about way too many chapters in a book, but there you go . . . 😅 And it’s not so much the fact that the story had too many chapters, necessarily, it’s more of the fact that the short chapters COULD have been just ONE chapter!! Like the whole bar scene at the beginning comes to mind as an example of this!! (Also, why do SO many romance novels have a bar scene as a way for MC’s to meet? 😅) But anyway, also, it took WAY too long for the “mistaken identity” thing to be solved; it was like, “Oh, c’mon!” Another thing, it was clear to me that the author herself did NOT know Spanish very well . . . First of all, if the MFC, Tessa, was supposed to be half-Argentinian, why didn’t she (the author) spell the MFC full name, Theresa, the Spanish way of spelling it, Teresa (with no “h”). And why is her nickname Tessa & NOT “Tere”, the Spanish nickname?? Also, when the author reads (the author herself reads the Audible version of the female POV, which was a nice surprise, admittedly 😊) the word “guacamole”, she doesn’t say it the Spanish way of saying it. She also mispronounces some other Spanish words, I believe . . . But anyway, it was nice to see another mixed-race couple in a romance novel. ☺️

Anyway, I’m not sure I’ll read another one of these collections again, but it was a fun experience to read romance books from different authors this way. 😊👍🏻

Yours to Bare - 🌟🌟
Not sure if it was because I listened to the audiobook or if it was just the book itself, but Yours to Bare gave me a consistently unsettling vibe that I couldn’t shake. The story had potential, and I can appreciate the raw, emotional themes it was trying to explore, but something about the dynamic between the characters felt more creepy than compelling. Instead of being drawn into the romance, I found myself uncomfortable more often than not. Maybe it was the narration, maybe the writing—but either way, it just didn’t work for me. A miss, unfortunately.

Show Me The Way - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Show Me the Way by A.L. Jackson absolutely stole my heart. Rynna and Rex’s story was everything I love in a romance—raw, emotional, and deeply moving. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the love between them felt so real and powerful, it was palpable through every chapter.

Both characters carried so much pain from their pasts, and watching them slowly open up, face their demons, and choose each other was incredibly heartwarming. Their growth, both individually and as a couple, was portrayed so beautifully. I especially loved that they both got their happily-ever-after—it felt well-earned and deeply satisfying.

The narration was superb and added even more depth to an already powerful story. A.L. Jackson has such a gift for writing emotional, redemptive love stories, and this one is no exception. Highly recommend for anyone who loves romance with heart, healing, and a whole lot of swoon!

Make Me Yours - 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This single dad romance completely stole my heart! Remi is the sweetest, and his love for his daughter, Lillie, shines throughout the story. What really got me was the bond between Ruby and Lillie — it felt so natural and heartfelt, making you really want to cheer for them as a family.

The narration was okay, but the story itself was emotional, charming, and totally worth the listen. A feel-good romance you’ll want to revisit!

Breaker - 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Breaker by Harloe Rae delivered all the emotional highs and swoony lows I crave in a small-town romance, and the audiobook brought that experience to life in such a heartfelt way. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into Grady “Gray” Malone’s story—a broody, guarded mechanic with a painful past and a heart of pure gold. He’s been dealt a rough hand in life, and watching him slowly allow love back in was deeply rewarding. Gray absolutely deserved his HEA, and I was cheering for him every step of the way.

Sutton was the perfect match—steadfast, sweet, and quietly strong. I adored that she’d always held a place in her heart for Gray, and finally getting to see that love come full circle was so satisfying. Their chemistry felt natural, their emotional connection was authentic, and the slow-burn build had me hooked. And those “happy somethings”? I loved every single one—those soft, intimate moments of joy that made the romance feel real and lasting.

The narration was beautifully done, capturing both Gray’s emotional depth and Sutton’s warmth. The alternating POVs were distinct and well-paced, giving us a fuller picture of their growth, both individually and as a couple.

A nearly perfect listen—emotional, sexy, and full of heart. Harloe Rae gave us a love story rooted in healing, second chances, and soul-deep connection. Highly recommend this for any romance audiobook lover craving a story with real heart and a truly earned HEA.

Captain - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Captain by Lauren Rowe is everything I love in a romance and more! From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the hilarious banter, unforgettable characters, and sizzling tension that practically leaps out of your headphones. Lauren Rowe’s narration (if you’re listening to the author-narrated version) is pitch-perfect — full of heart, humor, and heat.

Tessa and Ryan’s story is equal parts hilarious and heart-melting. Their chemistry is undeniable, the spice is 🔥🔥🔥 (hello, piercings 👀), and the fated soulmates vibe had me swooning hard. I laughed out loud more times than I can count — this book is pure joy from start to finish.

And the Morgan family? Absolute family goals. Every time they show up, it feels like coming home. I loved seeing Tessa and Ryan get their well-deserved happily ever after, and I already can’t wait to dive into the rest of the Morgan Brothers series.

If you love steamy romance with heart, humor, and unforgettable characters, Captain is a must-listen. I’m obsessed. 💘
