Once an angel, Asmodeus has earned the position of King of Demons, crawling his way up after leaving Heaven. His job, for all eternity, is to tempt humans with his gift, the Sin of Lust, marking the weak, while still maintaining control over all other demons. After several millennia of fun, the pleasure he’d once gotten from his existence is gone. Or it was until Jophiel, Beauty of God, shows up at his place unexpectedly. Now, for the first time in a long time, he’s enjoying himself again—at her expense.
Jophiel, Beauty of God, angel of illumination, wisdom, and perception, has been tasked with the most challenging job of her long existence, a task that may just end her life. She needs to bring a demon home, to Heaven. But not just any demon. Asmodeus is one of the Seven Royalty, the King of Demons. She knew going in that he’d fight her at every turn. But as prepared as she believed herself to be, she soon finds out that she’s no match for him. Because demons fight dirty.
To make matters worse, there is one among them who demands more power. In a world full of evil, where human souls are at stake, can they work together to defeat a common enemy and restore balance?
Asmodeus, the king of Demons, is marking souls for the sins that he urges the humans to commit, through his power of 'lust'. He and the Royal Seven Demons all do the same and each one marks the souls for the sin that they are the demons of.
But what none of the others know is Asmodeus is tired. Spending a millenia in Hell, he no longer desires the 'job' that he has been given. But he has no way out.
Enter Jophiel, the angel of beauty and illumination and she has been given a simple job - to bring Asmodeus back to Heavens to help him heal, so that Asmodeus could continue with his 'job' better.
Asmodeus is unwilling to go back and the angel and the demon battle it out. Which was when Asmodeus uses a very unconventional way to fight back the angel. The King of demons uses his very own power on the angel.
Naturally, Jophiel loses the fight and that starts her on an unexpected journey, because she is unwilling to go back to Heaven without completing her mission.
Things take a turn for the worse, and finally an injured Jophiel learns the reason for her mission. She realizes that her mission is to heal Asmodeus and is willing to sacrifice her very life for it.
That starts both Asmodeus and Jophiel on a completely unexpected path in which no demon or angel have gone together.
The way the characters were developed especially, the life of Asmodeus - his sheer boredom and the way he approaches his work was brought out very well. The human world as seen from the eyes of the demons - that was a unique read and enjoyable read.
Obviously, the wonderful chemistry between the lead pair and the paths that it takes them to, was the highlight of the story.
The demon of lust and the angel of beauty, both were from completely different worlds and started as enemies. The turns of the story from there was a delightful read.
Lucifer and Haniel's sub-story was slightly unexpected and looking at the lead pair, it would automatically have anyone wondering where that would go.
This is book 1 in the Sinful Seven Series. Asmodeus, the king of demons, has one job; tempt humans with his gift of lust. Fighting to keep his title of king at every corner while doing the same thing over and over, he is now starting to loose feathers...that shouldn't be falling to begin with. Jophiel the angel of beauty and illumination, wisdom and perception has been sent by God himself to bring Asmodeus home. Fighting her has been the first time in a millennia he has felt anything. Jophiel was prepared to fight him but was not prepared at all for him to use his gift on her.
My rating:☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️(5/5)
I really liked this book! It took me forever to finish because of work. But I really enjoyed it! For a book told in 3rd person I felt so immersed in their lives. Asmodeus while the king of demons has a soft side!! One that he would probably kill if ever mentioned. Jophiel is truly an innocent. She went their prepared to fight a demon but she forgot they play dirty! The best part truly is seeing them fight feelings for each other because they do not understand them. Meeting the rest of Hells Royalty was interesting! So many personalities!
🚨🚨Spoilers below read at your own risk🚨🚨
My one complaint is Lucifer and Haniel!!! I understand he is charismatic but if lust was not a factor how is she not damned!?!??! To have been a fly in the wall of where ever Lucifer took her. While I think all of this will be addressed in future books I also wonder how Micheal and Raphael have not been alerted that a angel is missing! But regardless I am excited for the rest of the series! The authors definitely know they are doing!

Very good read, I enjoyed how the writers portrayed each of the angels and the suspenseful drama between asmodeus and luci. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance.

Absolutely love this storyline with its steamy spin 🌶 The passion between Jophiel and Asme is so d@mn hot 🔥 The adventure/fight scenes will have you balling your fists, but then there's a steamy scene that makes you want to 🥵 It is the perfect balance! The ending was so good! I really do love me a great happy ending!
This story is a lot to unpack, but it is very enjoyable. Demons and angels and sinners are portrayed in a very thought provoking way, and the interactions between Jophiel and Asmodeus are really interesting. Definitely going to read more in this series
Can love heal a demon filled by lust? It sounds cliche, but for Asmodeus, King of the Demons, bearer of the Gift of Lust, he never believed in love. He saw his life as a constant circle: meditation, bestowing his gift, and repeat. But when Jophiel, Beauty of God, shows up in a veil of light, he is drawn to her in more ways than one. But is it just lust again, or something else? And does it put his reign at risk?
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as it is outside my usual reading realm. With the title “Gift of Lust”, I was worried that I ventured into erotica which is one of the few genres I don’t read. While there are of course a number of vivid sex scenes in the book, as expected with the word “Lust” in the title, the story’s plotline was far more than that.
We are taken on both Asmodeus and Jophiel’s journey as they learn more about one and other, as well as about how lust can lead to love, and lust in the act of love is not a sin in itself. The story does well to paint the demons in a different light: the “Seven Deadly Sins” are only deadly when acted up deviously. Sex is not bad. Pride is not bad. Envy is not bad. These are a part of the human condition, after all. Asmodeus does not mark every person who fulfills their sexual desires, but only those who have the intent of doing wrong. Jophiel is thoughtfully used as evidence in this, show naivety, generosity, and curiosity as she navigates through the complicated feelings around lust and love.
Since romance is not my usual genre (although I read it from time-to-time), I was most drawn to the external conflict brewing outside of Asmodeus and Jophiel’s infatuation with one and other. With the knowledge that more books about the Sinful Seven remain, I anticipate seeing how this battle for power will play out through different the eyes of different characters…and I definitely look forward to it!
With all that being said, I do offer a warning to some people who may pick this book up. I did end up enjoying the story ultimately, but the beginning you are seeing Asmodeus as a true demon. He acts with nefarious and selfish intent, with his gift of lust as his guiding force, and it causes him to perform acts that might make some readers uncomfortable. These decisions are needed to foster Asmodeus’s growth, as well as kindle the relationship between him and Jophiel, but they are demonic…so be wary of that, at least.
But with that being said, despite that initial moment, I did enjoy the story. It’s more than I expected, and I am really looking forward to Beezlebub: Gift of Gluttony! Definitely worth the read.
I received a free copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review:
Asmodeus is reigning as the King of Demons. His time is spent tempting humans with lust. Once someone gives into this sin, or any of the deadly sins, they are marked. This once exciting job has now made this fallen angel disinterested. That is, until Jophiel, Beauty of God, appears at his home out of nowhere.
Jophiel is an angel who is tasked something that seems impossible - bringing Asmodeus home to Heaven. There will be a knock out, drag out fight between them. Will they continue to fight or see that there is more to each other? Can they also come together to fight a greater evil that is lurker in their mist?
I really enjoyed this book. It was a very unique take on angel vs. demon. It was interesting to see the supernatural world meet the human world and to see how the demons mark the humans when they sin. I loved seeing the members of the Royal Seven - the seven deadly sins. I would have liked to have had maybe a little bit more back story or world building, but overall, I enjoyed this one! I loved how it ended and the last lines of the book!
Asmodeus the Gift of Lust features, but is not limited to, the following themes: ○ Paranormal Romance ○ Angels & Demons ○ Enemies to lovers ○ Forbidden romance ○ Seven deadly sins ○ Fallen angels ○ Lust
My overall rating for Asmodeus the Gift of Lust is...
4 Stars!
Angels and demons, two opposing sides, joined in love? This lush and lustful tale was sexy and sweet, it was thought provoking and exciting, unique yet familiar. Although it was not explicitly detailed, I really enjoyed the urban setting. The main characters experience such potent growth, it was beautiful and emotional to experience. I'm not entirely convinced the remaining six Fallen/sinners will be redeemable in their own books of the series, but I'm interested to see how the authors will portray them. Overall, readers of angels, demons and paranormal romance will devour this book!
This is the first book in the series, but I read it second. Which didn’t really matter, but it made a few things in book 2 make more sense or be more meaningful than I realized when I read book 2.
The thing that most surprised me about this book was how completely different it was from book 1. Usually in a series, there is a fair bit of similarity between books, but although these were clearly set in the same universe, the story lines and the interactions were completely different. Which makes sense, since this one is about a demon and an angel, and the second book is about a different demon, with a very different personality, and a highly empathic human. It says good things about an author’s skill, that they are able to produce two such very different books.
When I first read the description I wasn't too sure if I would enjoy this book or not but I decided to give it a go. I definitely do not regret picking this book up, I loved jophiel as a character so much. I felt like she was the perfect match for asmodeus and the story sucked me in until the very end. Im super excited for the next in the series and can't wait to read more from this author.
This was a page-turner for me and I really enjoyed it. The action, intrigue, and suspense all drew me into the story. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Story was a bit different than how I would’ve pictured it from reading the blurb, not really my cup of tea especially since I don’t believe in god makes me eye roll most things referenced to him, the seven deadly sins part was a little interesting though how they had powers
An angel and demon must work together to restore balance despite their attraction to each other. I voluntarily received this book for an honest review.
Asme, King of Hell, predator of the night, marker of souls, lust his favourite sin. Tracking his victims, he was the master of disguise and never failed his mission but he was ill and it showed on his wings. An angel was tasked by God to bring him back home to be healed... but not without a fight. A great supernatural story of good verses evil and the battles between the two for dominance. Both demon and Angel characters showed strength and determination in order to get what they want. This is a unique storyline, well written, with good pace throughout, building with each chapter to keep your interest piqued. Enjoyable read.
What I loved: The character building, and world development were amazingly done. It’s a slow build that feeds you a little at a time as the story progresses. It had me hook line and sinker. I was so intrigued and wanted to learn more about all the characters beyond just the main couple.
If your looking for a new twist on Angels and Demons, enemies to lovers, and a cool dragon side kick, grab this book! It’s available on KU for free!
This is book one in the Sinful Seven series and I can not wait for book two in February!
Somehow this book felt like I had read nothing by the end of it. The world and characters just came off flat and boring. Honestly, such a boring read, and would not recommend it.
