There’s only one girl I want. And she’s way too good for me. Lydia is the sweetheart of the Heartlands and she’s nothing but innocent. And me? I’m nothing but trouble. As a teenager I did time for a crime I don’t regret. Killing my stepfather was the only the way to protect my ma. When I meet the bikers of Heartlands Motorcycle Club, it was like I’d finally found my people. But I’m keeping a secret. When our new club rivals, the Burning Devils, find out where I’ve been all this time, I can’t keep hiding the truth. They want to avenge my stepfather’s death. And kidnapping Lydia is their idea of payback. I’ve been to prison once — I’m not scared of going back. But I’m goddamn terrified of losing the girl I love.
Dear Reader, Jackal is a wild-at-heart hero, ready to show Lydia what it means to be his woman. She’s ready to take a leap of faith if it means jumping into his arms … and his bed. This double virgin romance is nothing short of filthy-sweet. xo, frankie
The alpha males of Heartlands Motorcycle Club are the most possessive, devoted, and territorial men in the country when it comes to the ones they love.
Heartlands is a rough and rugged new series of standalone stories. Written by four of the most trusted names in short and steamy romance, each book will get your motors revved and your hearts racing. Guaranteed.
Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
-no cheating -I love alpha males but I didn’t find Jackal to be very alpha. He waited a year to be with his girl and even then, she had to make all the moves -no ow/ om drama -dual virgins ❤️ -no violence of a sexual nature -secondary characters- not a huge amount of secondary character but a couple I have already read their story. I won’t be reading Maddox’s story because of the way he was in this book -epilogue 5 years out
I very much enjoyed this addition to the Heartlands MC series. We first meet the h, Lydia as Ruby's little sister in Rangers story. I think having her paired up with Jackal is genius. They were perfect for each other and the author did a fantastic job telling their story. Dual virgins, vulnerable H but alpha and hot as hades, no abuse or cheating, no OM/OW drama, just a wonderful, sexy, sweet story. Well done. Don't miss out. And if you haven't read the others in the series, I suggest doing so. However it's not necessary for this story to make sense. They are all standalones.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
We finally get Lydia story she was in Ruby/Ranger story as Ruby younger sister and she has been kept protected since that night her father tried to sell her, now she caught the attention of young Member Jackal but he pushes her away because of his own dark past. And can understand that he went to jail at a young age for murder but for a good reason. I did hate that Lydia was the one pursuing him she had horrible stuff happen to her.. but im glad he finally man up and went after his. There some club drama..
As much as I love ruby in her story..she was a big Hypocrite in this one about her sister falling in love. But she blamed it on prego hormones
No ow/om drama, no cheating, drama, slight secondary character, sexy times, both virgins
Recommend- maybe Cover-⭐⭐⭐

Jackal fell in love with Lydia the moment he met her, but never thought he was good enough for her. He has a past and doesn’t want that affecting her. She’s the Princess of the club he’s in and should live a life without him dragging her down. But that’s not what Lydia wants. She wants him and is determined to make him see they are meant to be together.
-safe read -dual virgins -no om/ow drama -epilogues 1 year and 5 years
I had not read anything by Frankie Love but I enjoy the others in The Heartlands series so I thought I’d give this one a try and I’m glad I did! Both the H/h are virgins and they were so sweet and perfect for each other.
Entertaining MC read. Jackal killed his stepfather as a teenager and has no regrets. He out of prison and a member of the Heartlands Motorcycle Club. What happens when their rivals find out who he is and what he did? What will happen when the girl he loves is taken and in danger? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with amazing chemistry. I liked it.
3.5 stars Safe, double virgin, but a huge fan of the guy turning the girl away because he thinks he's not good enough, they were young, he was 23, she 18.
Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I absolutely love it.

You need the darkness to see the light. She is his light.
Jackal by Frankie Love is the twelfth in the Heartlands Motorcycle Club series. This is the story of Jackal and Lydia. Jackal is twenty-three years old and has been part of the Heartlands MC for a year. He is a mechanic and has been working in the club owned garage. Jackal keeps his head down, works hard, has a beer at the Ride or Die bar sometimes with the club but stays out of trouble. He is obviously hiding something but no one has poked that bear yet by asking. The one thing that Jackal has been doing is keeping an eye on Lydia, the clubs little angel. He is in love with her but thinks she is too good for him so he barely speaks to her. But he does make sure she is safe. Lydia is eighteen years old, graduated high school and is enjoying the end of summer before she starts her first year at the local community college. She has a passion for photography and will be taking classes to learn more as she wants to become a professional. She is also the younger sister of Ruby who is Ranger's wife and has been living with them for the last couple of years. Both ladies escaped their psycho father who is a preacher in basically a cult community so she knows that life is not perfect. The one thing she has been keeping her eye on is Jackal. Ever since he came to Heartlands she has known that they were meant to be together. One night at the end of summer party out at the local lake Jackal is there because he heard that Lydia was going and he wanted to make sure that she was going to be safe. When he finally spots her she is cornered by Grant, a rich guy from her high school who has kept asking her out even though she keeps turning him down. Jackal just sees red and quickly scares Grant off and tells Lydia he is taking her home. Even though Lydia is a good girl she still has spunk and is not so easily bossed around. Her wild child comes out when they end up on the other side of the lake with her taking pictures of him and then he starts to take some pictures of her. Let's just say that her sundress does not last long and he is on his last ounce of willpower. That is the turning point for Jackal as he comes to quickly realize that he really does want Lydia and she wants him too. He may be the dark but she is the bright light that he needs and he is going to do everything he needs to in order to keep her safe and with him.
Jackal is well written with an exciting and engaging story-line that has drama, action, romance, longing, unrequited love, family, danger and of course love and some very hot and sexy times. Plus add in a great couple epilogues and Frankie Love has done it again. I really enjoyed this story of finding your "one" even if you are young. After all you get to grow up together for the rest of your lives.
Jackal is quick read (or at least it seemed that way to me...but then I read faster when I want to know how it all ends😂). Jackal will be J for this review) and Lydia were the focus of this story. J was hesitant to get involved with Lydia thinking she is too good for him or any biker. He watched her for a year just observing her and gleaning that she is kind hearted and innocent of her appeal to men. Lydia had a crush on J but didn’t realize that J liked her. Lydia watched Jackal just as much as he had watched her for a year before approaching her. When ) goes to a party knowing she would be there so he could watch out for her as he felt she was too innocent to be on her own at a party with the club. When Jackal convinces Lydia to let him take her home they got to talking and they kissed and it changes everything even though J tried to fight it. Ok, that is where I am going to leave it. Don’t want to spoil the story for any futures readers. I loved what J told Lydia when she told him they were already at the “love part”. Lydia wanted to become a photographer and had her camera with her and told J “ I want to see what I look like through your eyes”. Jackal said “You look like every good thing that’s never happened. You look like promises that are too good to be true. you look like a future that’s too bright for a man like me”.
They had some ups and downs and had some problems that they had to overcome both as a couple and as individuals. Jackal had a few twist and turns and things going a little sideways with lots of chemistry and heat. All of which is the elements that I use to determine whether I give the story a 5 ⭐️ or not it all depends one the story. Being that I sign up for reviews with my favorite authors and tropes a lot of the books I review are 5 ⭐️ reads to me. This is the third time I am reading a book written by Frankie Love, author, and it won’t be the last. I have to admit that I am impressed and plan on reading more books by Frankie. I loved her “voice” and writing style from what I gleaned of it from reading Jackal. Frankie did a wonderful job on connecting her book into the Heartland “world”. Heartland MC is a series written about the Heartland MC and each book in the series is written by a different author (some more than once but most are by a different partner). Frankie wrote three books for the Heartland MC series. The other books that Frankie wrote that is also within the Heartland MC series is called Ranger, book 1, and Conley, book 8. Jackal is a MC romance and has all of the elements of a wonderful MC romance which is loyalty and brotherhood. There is also a sense of family, respect, and honor. I highly recommend Jackal. Have fun reading Jackal.
Sometimes you just got to trust that they will see the person in front of them and not judge you on your past! Jackal hadn't had a easy start of life. But he had paid for what he did and he just wanted a new start. SO joining the Heartlands MC and working hard to become a valued member of the Club. He worked as a mechanic a job he loved. And there was one woman that caught his eye. Lydia. But he knew she deserve better than him so he tried to stay away but that was becoming harder and harder since she had started coming into the store. Lydia Knew she wanted Jackal but for some reason he stays away. And it wasn't because he didnt like her. So one night she decided to go to the lake party something she never did but she thought maybe Jacal would show and what do you know he is there and he is walking straight for her. Jackal is not impressed that Lydia is at the lake party, he is only there because he had heard she was going. And now he was going to talk her home. But Lydia has different ideas and she makes it very hard for Jackal. But that night changes everything for them. But he is worried, he needs to tell her about his past before things get too complicated just in case she sees him differently. Will she see the man in front of her or will his past ruin everything??? This is a brilliant romantic read with a twist in the tale. My heart just melted for Jackal and Lydia. They are just perfect for each other. and it left me with the biggest smile on my face. A wonderful read!!!!

In this book we get Lydia and Jackal's story. After Jackal's past her is sure he doesn't deserve a good girl like Lydia but he is darn sure going to protect her from anyone else. So when he goes to a bonfire he hears she is going to be at and sees some guy looking like he is bothering her he goes over. He isn't sure at the time but he thinks she just might want him too. If only he could get over thinking he isn't good enough for her. Lydia has watched Jackal all but run from her every time she tries to talk to him. Sometimes he just walks away others it's off on his bike he goes all she needs is one chance to show him he's what she wants. So at the bonfire when a preppy guy keeps trying to talk to her even though she doesn't want him to she is happy to see him there. When they get alone it is a now or never type of chance so she kisses him first. Will this be a HEA for them both or will Jackal take this as his opportunity to put as much space as possible between them?
This is an amazing book in this series. Though I would recommend reading the entire series. It can be read as a stand alone. This book does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Jackal is a troubled man. Having been released from Juvenile Detention a few years ago, he ends up in Heartlands & joins the motorcycle club.
He keeps his head down working as a mechanic & rarely attends any parties or the clubhouse, but tonight, he is attending the end of summer party down at the lake. He has his eye on a certainly young woman - has for the past year. He knows that he can never have her as she is the MC sweetheart & way too good for him.
Lydia is at the lake being leched over by a very unwanted guy, until Jackal walks over & tells the guy to push off. Lydia has seen Jackal around & even tried to speak to him, but he adverts his eyes & rarely talks, so she's got her work cut out for her!
She decides that she's going to go for it & as he tries to lead her away, to take her home, she asks if they can get a few photographs of the sun setting & go to a secluded part of the lake, where she strips off & makes her feelings known to him.
Jackal tries to fight the burning desire within him, but ultimately loses that battle & kisses Lydia with fervour.
What ensues is a beautiful, gripping story that had me on the edge of my seat & not letting me go until I reached the very sweet & satisfying HEA.
I LOVE that Lydia got her own story! She's kind, loving, a bit quiet, and for the most part, a happy soul. She doesn't let her distasteful past control her attitude or dictate her future. And what she wants, even more than becoming a photographer, is Jackal. Jackal is grumpy, withdrawn, honorable, and drawn to Lydia despite the fact that he believes she deserves so much better than him. No matter her somewhat compliant nature, what Lydia wants, Lydia gets. Jackal quickly finds himself giving in to the feelings he's had for the timid beauty for the last year, and Lydia couldn't be more thrilled. Lydia helps Jackal finally accept his dark past, and relax into his new family of the Heartlands MC. Jackal gives Lydia a protector, a supporter, and someone who loves her unconditionally. This unlikely duo is surprisingly sweet and romantic. Another great addition to the Heartlands MC family! Happy Reading!!

Jackal the quiet one who keeps his head down works hard and go straight home after work never associates with anyone. Lydia ready to start college wants to be a photographer has a new camera her sister and brother in-law bought her. End of summer bash at the lake draws all the attention of the town folks and that of unsavory characters. Jackal shows up that surprises his mates but he’s only there for one reason....Lydia. He scans the area looking for her and there she is beautiful as ever. Lydia see Jackal and walks over to him so she can talk to him. But he’s shy and she’s to innocent to be around a guy like him but they can’t deny the attraction they have towards each other. Sorry no spoilers from me 🤪 I absolutely loved this story. The storyline was so interesting that it completely captivated me and was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished with the very last word. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing book. Enjoy happy reading 📚 "I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book."
Once again we are with the Heartlands MC and this time we get Jackal and Lydia's story we met Lydia before as she is the SIL of Ranger and has been the young woman that the entire club keeps an eye on Jackal has also been watching her but for an entirely different reason he is deeply attracted to her but he knows he isn't good enough for her even though he has steady work as a mechanic in the clubs garage. Lydia also watches Jackal but hasn't been brave enough or had the time to make a move But now she has finished school and she intends to start to live and the first thing she will do is go to a party at the lake Jackal doesn't usually attend parties but when he learns that Lydia will be there he goes at it is s good thing he does as he will have to come to her rescue but that puts him in the eye of the Burning Devils a rival MC and he is keeping a secret that involves them Will his new club back him or walk away when trouble comes
Frankie Love is fast becoming a must read author for me and this book only solidifies that distinction. Ms. Love has a way of grabbing you from the 1st page of her books till the very end. Her story telling and world building make it seem that you are in the middle of her stories (you may be blushing while there). Her characters are so delightfully flawed that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Jackal and Lydia's story is one of not thinking that you deserve someone to share you life with but realizing that you do and that you will hold on and fight to the death to love and protect them. This book has everything that you could want; comedy, action, drama, conflict and of course hot romance. Please don't miss this series or this terrifically wonderful gem of a book.

First things first; I like the cover of this book! Jackal is the twelfth book in the ‘’heartlands motorcycle club’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Jackal is a member of the heartlands MC. He wants Lydia, a club brother’s sister in law. Will he ever make a move and make her his woman? The chemistry between Jackal and Lydia is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked that both hero and heroine were each other’s firsts. I liked that Ranger was ok about Jackal dating Lydia. I loved how Lydia didn’t judge Jackal for his past. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
Lydia is Ruby's little sister. She just graduated from high school, and is headed to college to study photography. Jackal is a new member of Heartland MC, and he's watching his friends find great women and settle down. He has a criminal past due to something he did as a juvenile. And he's got a bigger secret. He's loved Lydia from afar since he first saw her, but he's afraid to make the first move. Fortunately for him, she's not afraid. And she sees him for who he is now, not for what he did. They make a cute couple, and their story fits perfectly in this series.

This is a sweet romance between two relatively innocent people. Lydia has been sheltered her whole life and is finally stepping out after graduation. Jackal, although he had a difficult upbringing, has kept to himself and avoids trouble. The only way you know he is a part of an MC is because its mentioned, its not his lifestyle. That being said, this is a really clean, sweet romance and not your typical dark, gritty MC romance. There is a little bit of steam but its more implied than described. It was an enjoyable quick read.

Jackal has gone to prison and is not ashamed since it saved his mom but when he sees Lydia, he feels he is unworthy to be with her. He is captivated with her but is too shy to say anything. Lydia makes the first move and their romantic journey starts. He is harboring a secret that he doesn't want his MC to know about but when Lydia is taken all bets are off. Will he be able to get her back safe and unharmed and will his MC rally around him when the truth comes out? This story draws you in and keeps you glued to it as the drama unfolds.

I was excited to read this book. Dual virgins . But I was misled by the reviews I read that this was a great read. In my opinion, the mmc was not likable. He was wishy washy with his thoughts n feelings. His thoughts were all over the place. One second, he loved the fmc n wanting to be with her, then the next thing he thinks is no room for her in his heart . It was sad to read. And the sister Ruby got on my nerves. She thought just bc she was married n had a kid she knew everything. I wanted to pull her hair, lol ... I felt bad for the fmc . Seems like the mmc had no love for the fmc. She had to chase him like a Lil puppy. I understand he had issues, but I expected him to put some effort in . He gave me whiplash with his thoughts . He couldn't make up his mind. He didn't fight for her, in my opinion. The fmc needed an mmc who didn't give up too easily.
After many months of pining, days spent in tears, hours wallowing in grief; Frankie has finally delivered Jackal's story to me. Jackal and Lydia. Love at first sight. Two people both with tragic pasts, each healing in a different way. Jackal wants Lydia, but denies himself her love. Lydia has decided to take control of the situation. Their story was beautiful and steamy, with just a hint of danger that we need for this biker to show us how he rescues his woman.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I have really enjoyed the whole Heartlands MC series. This story was a perfect addition and is Lydia and Jackals story. These two broken souls find out that they are made to put each other back together. Their romance was a while coming and very deserving. They have more drama to get thru but finally get their hea. I look forward to the next book in this series

This was a sweet read about Lydia the Heartlands MC sweetheart who has had a crush on Jackyl for over a year and has been trying to get his attention but nothing seems to work. Jackyl has been infatuated with Lydia since his eyes landed on her, but since he has done time he doesn't feel like he deserves someone like her. When these two finally end up together it is explosive and instant love. I enjoyed this read because we got to see other club members and the two main characters could not be more perfect for each other.
I love this latest story by Frankie Love. I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. I enjoyed reading Jackal and Lydia’s story.
Jackal doesn’t think he is worthy of Lydia, the sweetheart of The Heartlands. But Lydia believes differently. At an end of the summer, Lydia decides to take a chance. Jackal is surprised that she could feel something for him. Will they realize that they are meant to be?

Jackal, like most with the MC, has a past, but his is little more that he wants to keep hidden. Lydia has had a shelter, yet unusual past, but she sees someone who she is willing to give her heart to.
Jackal and Lydia have a sweet and loving story. I like that they are both each other's first and are willing to stand up for each other. Now don't get me wrong, their story is not a simple one, Jackal's past does come back to haunt him but the other guys are more than willing to be there for him.

Jackal is the 12th installment in Frankie Love’s Heartland MC series. This is an entertaining biker romance involving a kind and liable female lead and a protective and possessive alpha male. Ms. Love does a remarkable job with this character-driven romantic biker plot. Her lead characters are strong yet vulnerable, buI appreciate her skill in creating multi-dimensional lead characters. Through her use of dialog, point of view and descriptive language she endears her readers to Lydia and Jackal while capturing her readers attention. Nicely done, Ms. Love.
After a year of watching and waiting, Jackal and Lydia finally give in and the result is pure fire. It's always nice to return to the Heartlands MC, a club that definitely feels more like a family. As Lydia and Jackal find each other, the past rears its ugly head and threatens everything. It's a fight to the finish, but the HEA here is worth every single step. Sweet, short, and full of love and hope, Jackal was simply fantastic.
Oh, the feels that this quick read romance delivers!! Jackal and Lydia's story if filled with sweetness, heat, heart, action, danger and excitement. This couple really touched my heart! I thought it was easy to see that these two were meant to be and I was completely invested in them from the start. A great romance that will have you swooning, while your heart melts into a puddle. I am freely posting a frank review.
