This one was so similar to the first that I kinda didn't enjoy the relationship aspect. But the action was interesting enough to keep me reading. I liked it. If you liked the first one you'd like this one too.

This was really fun. I love how the author made Iris' journey to becoming human so different from Adam's. If course there were similarities but the details are what made it so interesting. Iris is very childlike in a lot of ways. Her character could have been very off putting but she read as endearing instead. The conflict between Gage and Steel was really interesting. Though his actions were reprehensible, his behavior was somewhat understandable. I'm excited for what the little Easter egg on the end will mean in the future.

What a delightful return to the Ashwater series! I really enjoyed getting to know Iris and Gage. Iris was created to kill but transforms into a teenage fashionista. She's learning to be human, and the way Melissa uses humour to show that has made me laugh out loud more than once. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Iris and Gage are such a dynamic duo. The way these characters go through real emotions to work through their issues is very refreshing. I enjoyed the way the characters emotions and conflicts don’t get glossed over; it is very refreshing. It was nice to see that even though this story is geared towards Iris and Gage, the other characters don’t get lost, nor do their previous interests.
The story telling was spot on in showing how Iris grows as/into a “human”. The tight friendship between Adam and Iris is very brother/sister like. I like that even though they are similar, as in both being Android, they have different likes and interests, but also depend on each other because they are the only ones of their kind, that they know of.
This second book in the Ashwater series was extremely well written. It was well worth the wait as well as the extra wait due to unforeseen circumstances in the world. Perfection leaves you eager to the read the next book in the series. As with the first book, this one comes with a Spotify playlist as well. The twist at the end was AWESOME!!!! Can’t wait for the crossover in the third book in this series!!!! xo
