Skulduggery #4

Skulduggery 4: Building a Criminal Empire

Rate this book
Lord of the Rings + Breaking Bad + The Sopranos = Skulduggery

With each rival my syndicate eliminates two more appear, and they are out for blood. The assassin’s guild, the dwarven miners, and the elven overlords are all looking to put our heads on a pike.

If my whiskey business is going to thrive it's going to take a little magic, all of their skills, a lotta luck, and the help of an enslaved djinn to overcome the odds against them.

The risk is high, but the rewards are money, power, women, and revolution. Those are worth dying and killing for, so keep your blades sharp.

Possibly the best so far

I've really been enjoying this series. I enjoy that the underdogs are fighting back against the race of overpowered, overbearing, a holes. I also enjoy the empire building aspect of all of this.
This entry in this series was fantastic in that a lot of story was built and put into place without it feeling rushed, overdone, or underdone. The pacing was fantastic, the character growth was great, the jokes were fun, and I really had a good time.

Excellent

The series continues to impress. Wade and his friends take care of several challenges with Assassin Guild, and make allies with Miners to eliminate Dwarven Mafia, frame an elf for murder, free an enslaved friend and dance around an Elven General. All in day and nights work for this team! If you haven't started this series yet, come on! What are you waiting for! It's action, intrigue romps in the bay with beautiful women...what more do you need?

This Chapter in the series is a stepping stone to big fight at the end of the series I reckon. The storyline was quite consistent throughout last 3 books which is quite commendable. I would have loved to read more in this instead of continuing similar events in the next book. The series of 10 books could've been done in 5-6 books if each had 500-600 pages.

Loved the book no doubt but want to read more action than love crush, planning, etc

Another!

This series, while at first was a bit slow to start, has been getting better and better with each release.
This, the latest has to be the best one yet, with more revelations into the keys, a new member of "the family" joining and a whole bunch more fun.

Can't wait for the next one. This is one series I'm always looking forward to reading the next installment!

Awesomely intricate

The juxtaposition of freedom fighting while profiteering is quite interesting. It turns a few tropes on their head while entertainingly subverting expectations.

Excellent

This story continues to evolve and grow in all the right ways. I feel as though this particular book has laid the ground work for something big in the next one. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for the MC and his group!

A slow build

I have come to accept this is another series like most of Eric Vall's that develop slowly. There is plot progress, but not too much as to seem rushed. A fun read overall

Visceral Fantastic Action

This latest book is a brief and more earthy pause from some of the previous events. However, it’s still full of action, intrigue, plot(s), and new POVs. Definitely recommended, and for readers 16+.

Another great book

Great fourth installment to the series. Logan Jacobs keeps you on your toes and invested in the outcome of the gang.

Can’t wait to read the next book and learn more about how Wade and everyone keep building their empire.

Real Page Turner!

To me this book is the best page turner of the series so far. On top of that, it seems that Wade and the ladies are finally getting together a little more often as they should be at their ages.

Good Read

Book kept a good pace. Action scattered throughout so it was exciting. Enough twists in the story politics to balance the action. Hope the next book is available soon.

Enjoyed the first three book's. This one was a little slow building up the story. I still enjoyed reading it. And looking forward to the next in the series.

Solid Entry in the Series

Aside from a few sections where the pacing drags a bit, Book 4 is another solid entry in the series, well worth picking up if you liked the other three.
