Could an ancient prophet hold a present key that will reveal the future?Jeremiah was an Old Testament voice, but he still speaks to our day. Alone and living in a time of chaos, he was a prophet and Levitical priest whose fellow priests and prophets wanted him dead. In fact, everyone wanted him dead—the political leaders, his neighbors, and even his family.
At twenty-three years old Jeremiah was told to speak truth to power and not to worry what the consequences may be. God told him that people love to praise the Lord but refuse to do what He says. In spite of the judgments cascading upon the heads of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Lord promised a new covenant with Israel and Judah that would revolutionize their walk with Him. In Decoding the Prophet Jeremiah you will discover the
The warnings from God in Jeremiah’s day are for our generation as well.Even when you feel betrayed by everyone, there is still hope.God keeps His covenant and will never leave you or forsake you. This book is a clarion call to all believers. We need to see the bigger it is not about us but about God’s heart and God’s kingdom. God is looking for warriors who are about advancing His kingdom by storming the gates of hell and setting His sons and daughters free from the clutches of the greatest narcissist of all time.
Mark Biltz unpacks two books of the Bible written by the prophet the Book of Lamentations and the Book of Jeremiah. Biltz has uncovered fascinating Hebraic codes within Lamentations, making this a truly unique message for readers.
This book will encourage you to persevere in your faith despite cultural shifts and pressures, much like what the prophet Jeremiah did.
It was nice to have someone decode Jeremiah, as the book jumps around so much. Sometimes Jeremiah seems to be talking about his own time and other times he seems to be speaking for people in the future, but it’s all scrambled. This book did a good job of clearing up the inconsistencies and the baffling chronology.
What surprised me was that there was such a Jewish perspective. Jesus is even spoken of by his given name instead of the Greek translation that we are all familiar with. That was so refreshing!
Decoding The Profit Jeremiah is a very important book. It is also very helpful. It clarifies sequentially the events surrounding Jeremiah's life and prophecies, as well as those kings he was involved with preaching to. I have not actually finished the book, but I'm on page 30. I gave it a five-star rating because I think it is important, I think it is well written, and I think it is revelatory and adds Clarity to the bible. I am in no way saying the Bible is fallible, but rather saying that it is a very good guide to take you through that part of the Bible because the Bible is a very complex document and it is good to have a guide to lead you. Even the eunuch told the angel ministering to him that he could not believe unless someone would teach him. I am very glad for the teaching of Mark Biltz concerning the Prophet Jeremiah.
Excellent book on the Book of Jeremiah / Lamentations.
The book was very detailed yet very easy to understand, really help me understand the perspective that the people of Jeremiah's day are not much different then we are. Also the concept of God calling His people to repentance, and if you wait it maybe too late. God has set His times and seasons better be in fellowship with the Father daily. I'd highly recommend reading it, I've read a few of Mark's other books and they are just as good.
An Excellent Commentary on Jeremiah! Pastor Mark Biltz has written a wonderful commentary of the Old Testament book of Jeremiah. In Decoding the Prophet Jeremiah, he shows how history truly repeats itself in our day and how Jeremiah’s message is applicable to our modern world. Jeremiah is not in chronological order, but Biltz teaches the book in a sequential way that will help you to make sense. I recommend that you read this book with an open Bible. It will help you understand Jeremiah better and draw you closer to our great God.
Marvelously written in a way to understand Jeremiah's time and the place of the prophets around him. Daniel was one of them leading to more understanding of End Times. I loved seeing the book of Jeremiah put together chronologically during the time of several kings and the captivity! I want to read more of Mark Biltz's books!
My wife and I have been using this book to help us read the book of Jeremiah. It has helped put the book into context and it has helped us look at today's events in a new light.
