I have a lot to say about Domestic Girlfriend. To say I don't agree with the ending is an understatement, but this isn't the time for that right now. One thing is for sure; the story definitely stands out from the pile of forgettable titles for the past few years.
Volume 6 contains the pivotal arc that turned the title into what it became, for better or for worse. This version is the digital edition that contains exclusive color pages of the interesting scenes. The scenes which initially brought in most of its readers, and eventually stayed for the soap operatic turn of the plot.
After she catches Natsuo and Hina having a romantic moment, Rui coldly accepts their relationship while being more coldly towards him. Later, they all go on a school trip to Okinawa and they all have their fair share of crazy moments and by the end, it really looks like our couple might face their biggest obstacle aside from how long they’ll last. B (75%/Good)
This series keeps its quality steady. The author is obviously a pro. The plot guides you carefully in some directions while building up the possibility that it might go the opposite way, and putting together interesting complications. That said, I'm disappointed in regards to my personal preferences with how things are going. (Big spoilers up to this point) .
This series is a lot of fun in any case. It's nice to focus on the emotional and generally romantic quandaries of a bunch of fictional characters in a nice remote country that has its shit together; it distracts me from how horrible this part of the world has become.
Hina you really should know better, there's no excuse. A kiss here and there is forgivable, but this? All these hollow characters are just puppets on the author's string. Their personalities are mostly flat. And this triple taboo of student-teacher, adult-teen, stepsister-stepbrother, pfff. I commend the efforts of the author, because I did enjoy the premise and the first few volumes, however the turn this took just left me sad for the unreached potential.

I am glad that they are making it so the sister / teacher with brother / student pair is going to break up as i was for the sister / brother pair not the sister / brother / teacher/ student pair. I like how they made it turn around from volume 3 to volume 6 to be more 'realistic" but either way I was for the brother younger sister pair all along.
This was more like a 2.5 but closer to a 2 for one reason. We have a scene where some has too much alcohol infused sauce and starts to rape a character. The next day everything is like "oh its cool, be a better person." For a series about drama this seemed really poorly done and makes light of a serious issue. The normal drama is there and the standard popcorn reading is entertaining still.
Okay so Al tried to rape Rui and was forgiven inmediately just like that? 😀 That's actually insane... An that last page wtf... I will proceed with caution to the next volume but this seriously gets worse and worse...

For the most part this is the same as it ever was... but, there is a sexual assault in this volume and it is not handled well for a variety of reasons.
Rui and Natsuo care about each other in such contrast to the Hina/Natsuo stuff.
The way sensitive subjects are handled in this series can vary but being a few volumes ahead of this I can say this is not the only time it goes bad but this is probably the most egregious and it is too bad.
The ending was a long time coming and as cheesy as the "sexy" stuff in this series is, I like how mutual the sexual relationships are. The female touch is most present during the sex scenes.
