“Don’t you think we’re past that? You calling me Daddy?” he asked, surprising me with his words.
“Does it bother you?” I asked.
He shrugged, carefully eyeing me. “Doesn’t it bother you? After all we’ve done, don’t you think it would be appropriate for you to call me by my name instead of labeling me as your dad?”
“What are you on about?” I asked, now frowning at him. “You’re still my dad. And I would like to keep calling you that.”

Thankfully, Birdie and I managed not to get caught.
“That was close,” I mumbled under my breath as I put on my shoes. Birdie was grinning from ear to ear, and I knew she was enjoying this.

“Damn, you grew up to be a real woman, Birdie,” he said, wrapping his arms around me.

A girl who is mature enough to explore her sexuality should not be judged. And the men who get sucked into her bond are not rapists. They aren’t abusers. They’re simply in love with a beautiful soul.
