As the Coltons of Mustang Valley continuity series gets nearer to the end, I am becoming more eager to learn the answers to several questions related to what has occurred throughout the previous nine books. In this captivating story by Addison Fox, information that has been hidden for many years needs to be shown as either undeniably true or just a falsehood. As the main couple, Nik and Nova, try to come up with any facts which verify what is actually a reality, they find a closeness in their relationship neither was looking for at this time.

Nova Ellis had recently found out she was going to have a baby, and what she learns soon afterward about the child’s father has her fleeing the area instead of giving him the news. After much thought, she comes to the decision to locate her own father whom she never met, and she just hopes Ace Colton will welcome her when she gets to Arizona. In order to get any information about her dad, Nova goes to speak with Nikolas Slater when she arrives in Mustang Valley, hoping the private investigator might be able to help. He definitely knows about the man who is supposedly her parent, and has in fact just been hired to find him after he became a suspect in a shooting and then disappeared. As Nik and Nova work toward uncovering crucial answers, they come to several unexpected realizations.

DEADLY COLTON SEARCH is an exceedingly emotional journey of discovery and unanticipated truths. Nova is trying to escape from an unsettling situation, and she hopes her choice to seek out the man who is her father will work out well, yet she feels much uncertainty. Asking Nik for advice seems like her best course of action, but she has no idea if things will work out in her favor. From the moment they meet, I could easily sense a connection because of the way in which each responded to the other. Nova is candid about many of the events in her life, and while Nik is someone who looks for relevant details when investigating, this time has him taking a more personal interest in solving her complex problems.

While much of the book involves challenging emotional entanglements, there are instances when danger happens with no warning. I really became anxious during one very perilous episode. There are also details that still need to be resolved concerning the Coltons, and I am looking forward to seeing what the eleventh book will reveal. Rating - 4.5 Stars

‘Deadly Colton Search‘, the tenth title in the ‘Coltons of Mustang Valley‘ multi-author mini-series delivers a poignant, emotional, and dangerous romance with all the feels and action any Romantic Suspense reader could ever ask for.

Nova is on the run – the run away from the discovery that her boyfriend is not at all what she thought he was – and on the run to the father she’s never known about until just before her mother’s death. Add to that, she’s pregnant and the last thing she wants is to let one evil, drug-dealing baby daddy get anywhere near her or her baby. But the man her mother said is her father is facing his own troubles as he’s been accused of attempted murder and is on the run himself. Right now, Nova’s life is full to overflowing with complications.

Sometimes fate seems to play a part in connections between strangers. Once she arrived in Mustang Valley, Nova has to find her father. And a simple ad speaks to her for some reason as she, although broke, seeks the help of one private investigator who will change her world. Nik has learned to trust his instincts, his gut reactions – it’s necessary for a profession that he enjoys, and he’s good at. Everything about this young, pregnant woman is screaming trouble in neon letters. It’s obvious that Nova isn’t eating enough to keep a butterfly alive let alone herself and her baby, it’s also very clear that she’s proud, determined, and running scared. It’s also unfortunately very true that in helping Nova he’ll be skirting very close to that conflict of interest between her case and the case he just accepted from Selina, Ace Colton’s now ex-stepmother… but then, Nik is very good at working in those grey areas of the law.

With yet another DNA test, Nova is brought into the fold of the Colton clan. But the danger she’s facing is never far behind as her past is about to meet her future with explosive results.

‘Deadly Colton Search‘ is an emotional, fast-paced story that kept me glued to the Kindle throughout. I’m already loving this series, then Nik and Nova just added another layer to an already complicated family. Watching Nova begin to trust, to believe in someone again was priceless. Nik’s protectiveness and his determination to follow along those grey areas made him a man to not only like but admire. I loved the way the Colton family surrounded Nova with acceptance and support. The danger she and Nik will face is intense, the villain as vile as possible… and the ending just melted my heart. If you love a good love story with suspense, mystery, danger, and a complicated large family then this story and series would be perfect for you.

I own a Kindle edition of ‘Deadly Colton Search’

After hearing her boyfriend discussing a drug deal while she is in the bathroom dealing with her morning sickness Nova decides to run. She discovered Ace Colton is her real father and figures he can help her. Of course she doesn't know what she is walking into when she arrives in Mustang Valley.

She arrives to discover her father isn't the real Ace Colton since he was switched at birth and he is currently on the run as the only suspect in the shooting of his father, Payne Colton. Well the man who raised him. Poor Nova just wants a little help and to meet her father. Not mention protect her baby.

When she steps into the office of the local P.I. Nikolas Slater she isn't sure what he can do for her. As for Nik, he already has one Colton case he is working on for Selina, the evil ex step-mother of the Colton children. That woman is up to no good, I swear she is! I haven't figured out her game yet but I am hoping she gets what she deserves. Nik decides to help Nova meet her family and when she is attacked he becomes her protector. He isn't sure he would be a good husband or father but she can't help how he feels about Nova.

Addison Fox did a great job with this one. Nova was a lovely character an I enjoyed her very much. She hasn't had an easier time lately with her mother dying of cancer, finding out that man she thought was her father wasn't, and discovering she is not only pregnant but pregnant for a drug dealer. She has a good head on her shoulders and when she meets the Colton's for the first time she insists on a paternity test.

Nik is also a good character. He loves and wants Nova and her unborn child but he has some issues that make him feel unworthy. He decides to help and protect her figuring that would be all he does but I found myself rooting for them to get together very early.

All in all this was one of the best books of the series. If you are wondering about Payne, he is still in his coma but we only have two books left in the series after this one so something has to happen soon.

Nova Ellis is on the run after she overhears her boyfriend and baby daddy, Ferdy Adler, discussing a drug deal. She has a destination in mind. When her mother was dying from cancer she confessed to Nova that her father is Ace Colton. That's her goal now - get to Mustang Valley, Arizona and investigate if this is true. Maybe he can help her get settled if he really is her father. Then again maybe not since he is on the run after being accused of shooting Colton family patriarch, Payne Colton. The Mustang Valley police found the gun that was used to shoot Payne Colton in Ace's condo. The possible motive is that it has been proven he is not the eldest Colton sibling but the baby that was switched at birth. The family believes in his innocence though. When Nova finally arrives in Mustang Valley she stops in the office of the local P.I. Nikolas Slater. She doesn't know what prompts her to do this but she finds Nikolas to be quite helpful. He arranges meetings with the Colton family members for her and offers her a place to stay. Nova is surprised at the warm welcome she receives from the Coltons. Can she finally stop running? Is she putting this family at risk if Ferdy is still after her? All she knows for sure is that she feels safe with Nikolas.

Nikolas Slater is a darn good P.I. He gets the job done even if he slides a little into some gray areas during his investigations. He has been hired by Payne Colton's ex-wife, Selina Barnes Colton, to find Ace. He doesn't care for Selina and questions her true motives but he has a job to do. So when Nova Ellis walks into his office and tells him she believes Ace Colton is her father he knows he has to be careful and not cross any lines. There's just something about Nova that makes him feel protective of her. And attracted to her which isn't good because he doesn't plan to ever settle down into a permanent relationship or get married. He doesn't believe he could be a good husband. He will keep Nova safe at any cost though.

Deadly Colton Search by Addison Fox is the tenth book in the Harlequin Coltons of Mustang Valley series. I really like the Colton family. They are so open and giving and protective of their own. This is showcased by Ms. Fox in this story. She does a great job of painting this picture as well as telling Nova's and Nikolas' story. She sets a good pace in this book and moves along the overall storyline arc of the series. We know for sure who switched the babies at birth but not who and where the Colton heir is. We still don't know who shot Payne Colton yet though. I am hoping to get more answers to the mystery in the next book in this series, Hunting the Colton Fugitive by Colleen Thompson.

An unexpected twist in the Colton family saga! With book 10 in the always exciting Colton's of Mustang Valley series Addison Fox brings us the story of Ace's unknown daughter when she arrives into town with danger close behind her. The plot was quick to hold my attention and the character interaction was pleasing. I enjoyed the story very much, but didn't enjoy a couple of instances where items were told differently than they happened in the previous book. A better follow up on details with the previous author in the series would have made for a more satisfying flow. Looking forward to the last couple of books in the series!

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a mystery that spans the entire series while each individual book has it's own bit of intrigue going on as love comes knocking at various Colton doors.
