My name is Dr. Malcolm Colson. During the day, I’m dedicated to helping relationships stay afloat. At night, I swim in a sea of erotica. My two lives never cross paths, but navigating them both definitely takes its toll. On my side of the therapist’s couch, I crave control. When my submissive, Ava Pierson, starts to break the rules of our relationship, I find myself grappling to keep things on track. On the other side of the couch is Sean Tillman, a humble man dealing with the familiar problem of not knowing how to please his woman. I have just the prescription Sean needs, if he’s willing to be open-minded, and learn that satisfying a woman often requires admitting you don't know as much as you think you do, and learning to go the extra mile. If I could listen to my own advice, my life would be simple. But as the pages turn, I learn that I’m the best at giving advice, and the absolute worst at taking it.
WS (Will) Greer is the author of bestselling novels such as The Therapist Series, Kingdom, Interview with a Sadist, and The Darkest Kink. He's also a USAF veteran since enlisting in 2004, and retiring after 20 years of service in 2024.
WS prides himself on being a man who writes spicy romance with the absolute best of them, while also understanding and appreciating that he is a guest in the house of romance that women built.
WS grew up in Clovis, NM, and now resides in Delaware, where he lives with his wife--bestselling author Isabel Lucero--and 3 kids.
DNF after reading that a Dom (MC) didn't give any aftercare and ordered the submissive out. Even if she did something wrong, that is not how dom-sub relationship should be. It should be a conversation and not putting all anger into sex/play and then tossing them out... Maybe one day I will pick it up again, but not now.
The Therapist is book one on the Therapist series and a new author to me. I loved this book. Short, steamy, and great original storyline. I feel in love with Dr. Malcolm Colson.
Dr. Malcolm Colson is a therapist who specializes in relationship and sex therapy. Alpha male and Dominant in his personal life. Ava is his Sub and wow there sex scenes are off the charts amazing. You can tell she is off the rails a little and can see this could explode in his face. But this is what makes them steamy.
Sean is having problems with his girlfriend, Becky, and it is hard for him to admit and seeks help with Dr. Colson. Dr. Colson gives a man's pov, with an open mind and communication. He is amazing at his job.
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until book two to see what happens to Malcolm and his new patients.
This is amazing book. I love this style, the concept was great and the main characters?!🔥 If you love🌶️🌶️🌶️ books, like a lot of spicy books and dom/sub, it’s for you! Thank you Greer, for this book. It was so good🌶️🔥
I wish I could give this less than one star. Especially since the author was so sure he was one if the men who could write spicy novels for women. More like the most boring and unremarkable story.
This was not at all what I was expecting. While I didn’t hate it, this just didn’t have ‘IT’ for me. Honestly, I thought this story might have been more of the (inappropriate) relationships between Dr. Colson and his patients. While this was made clear at the end of the story, it just kind of fell short for me. Don’t worry Dr. Colson, I’m not sure I’m quitting you just yet…
I…I don’t really know how I feel about this book honestly. Let’s just start with the smut was FANTASTIC, and the plot was decent but I fucking hated everything about the relationships of both men. I’m not gonna dog on the book and say it was terrible cause it wasn’t but Sean and Becky were alright. But then there was fucking Ava…flat out imma just have to say fuck that bitch, I hated her guts. Period. That’s that. But yeah, it’s a three stars for me cause the smut was really good and the plot was alright.
If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Ugh so disappointed. Started reading it because of a TikTok video saying “who says men can’t write good spicy novels.” Well clearly this guy can’t.
I really enjoyed this book, I found it made a change to have a different kind of romance. Because although it about a relationship and sex therapist. It's so much more than that. You do get the whole romance in the patient's relationship that Dr. Malcolm Colson is trying to help with. As well as the romance that he tries to deny that happening in this life, one that you get to read as well.
I can't really explain exactly what happens as I believe this book totally needs to be read and experienced first hand with no spoilers at all. I know that that isn't what people want to hear but that's the truth. I feel that to spoil it would do an injustice to the author and characters.
I do however recommend it and urge everyone to give it a go. It's completely different from all other works that I have read by this author but it's just as good and powerful. But in its own unique way. It's a great read.
This is my first book by WS Greer and I enjoyed it! At first it started slow, but as I got further into the book, I understood why I started the way it did. The more I read, the more I felt like I was in a counseling session and Mr. Greer was the therapist. I identified with the sessions as a counselor myself and identified with his feelings when a dual relationship was presented.
I wish it was longer and a little bit deeper. I would have wanted to see a little more of Sean and Becky’s relationship unearthed a little bit more. Everything resolved so quickly. I guess because that’s the kind of relationship the author wanted to portray; but I was just left wanting a little bit more (much like Becky did at one point....LOL).
I do look forward to book 2, though, because I just have to know what will happen with Dr. Colson and Ava. I wonder if we’ll get an update of Sean and Becky in book 2 as well.....???
This book...oh my😍😍... Something different and refreshing and I loved every minute of it!!
Here we meet Dr. Malcolm Colson, who is a relationship and sex therapist... Sean is his patient who is dealing with some issues that most men have or are scared to admit. I love how Malcolm holds no punches and tells it like it is. Truth be told, the advice given can help alot of men in Sean's situation and that's what I loved about this book.
While Malcolm is giving advice, he has his own issues going on and her name is Ava. Ava and Malcolm together are something else. Talk about hot! What we learn about him is he LOVES sex and control in all things. As we get invested in Sean and his problems, we get deeper into with Malcolm and his situation.
How does everything play out? Will the advice Malcolm gives Sean help him and what will become of Malcolm and Ava? I loved the idea of this book and I'm so glad the author did something different than what I usually read. Loving it so far and looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!
This book was amazing! I love that he's a therapist who specializes in mostly sex therapy and relationships. I don't like that he has Ava as a patient because that complicates matters a lot. I love that he is able to help a man connect with his wife sexually and save their relationship. I don't particularly like Ava and I think that she is slightly obsessed with him. I don't like that she lied to him and that she was sitting outside of his house late at night. Overall it was a great story and I can't wait to continue the series.
As the name suggests this is the story of The Therapist. Dr. Malcolm Colson is a relationship and sex therapist. As well as his story we get the story of Sean his newest patient. I like how this was written- that we get the doctor and the patients story.
It’s a quick read and ideal for bedtime. I made the mistake of sitting in the garden to read this and I’m not sure it was the hot sexy scenes or the sun that had me hot and bothered lol I can’t wait to read more of this series.
This was a very unique read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a quick read but that does not take from the story at all. We have Sean who is dealing with issues in his relationship, so he goes to Dr. Colson. Dr. Colson is amazing at his job as a relationship therapist and he helps Sean tremendously, yet in his own personal life he makes some questionable decisions regarding his relationship. I loved how we got to see both sides of Dr. Colson, how he helped others, and how he had a darker side that needed control. I’m interested to see how the rest of the stories will play out because his friend Ava is a very crazy lady and I’m curious as to what will happen.
I really enjoyed this book, I found it made a change to have a different kind of romance. Because although it about a relationship and sex therapist. It's so much more than that. You do get the whole romance in the patients relationship that Dr Malcolm Colson is trying to help with. As well as the romance that he tries to deny that happening in this life, one that you get to read as well.

The Therapist is the first book in a new series written by W.S. Greer and as the title suggests it’s about a therapist - a relationship and sex therapist to be exact. If you are assuming that there are hot and steamy sex scenes throughout this book, then I can confirm that you'd be right about that.
I loved getting to know Dr Malcolm Colson both in and out of the office. Witnessing him at work was very intriguing and I loved then seeing if his patient would take his advice and if it would help. Outside of work Malcolm likes to have control and his dominant nature was the perfect way for us to see the man practicing what he teaches 😉
I thought The Therapist was a great read and certainly started the series off very well. I am looking forward to seeing what advice the good doctor will give next and to see developments in his personal life too. I have a feeling that he has more than he can handle at home and I can’t wait to see if I’m correct or not!

This is the first of a series of books ( a total of four have been announced) that follow the life of Dr. Malcom Colson, couples and sex therapist. In this book, we see how he helps Sean and Becky, but we also see the start of his relationship with Ava, a woman he craves and with whom he knows he's walking a slippery slope.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it, it's a great introduction to Malcolm and what makes him tick. He prides himself in his control and how great he is at helping others, but he also discovers his cravings have put him in a vulnerable position. I like this concept: it's different and not exclusively based on the main couple.
I found myself pulled out of the story with the repetition of a certain phrase. This is a very common occurrence in the romance genre, and it happens to a lot of authors. I am just one of those "lucky" readers with a brain that grinds to a halt when that happens.
The writing is straightforward, so don't expect flowery descriptions. However, I don't feel that the writing style detracts from the story, you just need to be prepared for it. All in all, a solid read, and I definitely want to know what happens with Dr. Colson and Ava and how their relationship evolves.
THE THERAPIST is the first book I've read by W.S Greer and it won't be the last. Apart from the rest of the books in the series, I plan on reading his other work. I really liked his writing style in this book, and found it to be an incredibly easy and enjoyable read. Malcolm is a relationships therapist who is very good at sex. Whether it's working through his personal relationship with his lady friend Ava, or professionally counselling his patient, Sean, who has come to him for guidance about pleasing his girlfriend. The Therapist has two stories which keeps the reader intrigued and not bored in the slightest. I loved the sex scenes and the advice Malcom gives Sean. It's mature and honest which is very appealing. W.S Greer has written a great book with likeable characters and I cannot wait for the second book in the series = SHAMELESS
I liked the 2 MMC POV. The dynamic of therapist/patient POVs is unique and I enjoyed these perspectives. Oddly enough Malcom is a great therapist but in his personal life, he's a dick. I don't know if the author intended for you to view Malcom this way or not. He is a terrible DOM not caring an iota for his sub. Sean, the second MMC on the other hand is fantastic. He loves his girl so much and is trying to better himself for the sake of making his girl happy and improving their relationship.
The spice was a bit vanilla but it was good, especially the Sean/Becky scenes. However, I have to say that it felt like I was reading it from the outside and very disconnected from the scenes from Malcolm, maybe because as aforementioned he's not likable. Even though it was supposed to be a dom/sub situation, I felt like skimming, totally disinterested.
This was an interesting book to read. Two couples lives are followed through the story Becky and Sean a couple in love but having some problems in the bedroom and Malcolm and Ava. The catch? Malcolm is Sean's therapist. Malcolm's relationship with Ava is a Dom/Sub one but they are experiencing problems with personal boundaries. It was an interesting read. There are many intense sex scenes that are fun to read. There is a HEA for one of the couples but I won't spill who. The twist at the end was a little too predictable for me and why I feel this is more a 4 than 5 star read. This is a series and I'm hoping as I read the rating will go up because the writing is mostly excellent. If you want to try a book with a different format this a good one to try.
Kind of torn with the rating on this one. Although some parts were intriguing and definitely steamy I felt like certain areas were choppy and kind of underdeveloped, I do understand that this is a short read so not everything can be covered but I've read enough novellas to know that their can still be a satisfying and complete ending.
I was definitely more into the secondary story than the main character's and for some reason I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop or for something shocking to happen and that never came to fruition. I think I will give the next book in this series a chance and hope that I enjoy it a bit more than I enjoyed this one.
I liked that both perspectives in this romance were men, the therapist and the patient. Sean especially was my favorite in this book because he was so dedicated to his girlfriend and willing to learn and work hard on their relationship. The therapist himself was not really my cup o tea because he seemed really enamored with himself and a little bit of an amoral jerk. Idk if the author meant for the titular guy to be the villain, but he is to me. Anyway, good story with an interesting angle.
Just no! I almost DN’d this book but because it was so short, I finished reading it. I felt no connection between any of the characters. It was just smut for Smuts sake. I was excited about this author. I followed him on TikTok and I thought I would start with this book, but I won’t be moving forward with any of his other books. I Just don’t feel he can bring the characters to life— even the characters of Sean and Becky, which were supposed to be in love. I didn’t feel anything that connected them emotionally
The first book in the series... I enjoyed reading and Holy smoking hotness! there are hot and steamy sex scenes, I like getting to know Dr. Malcom in a personal and professional way, I could tell he loves helping people with their issues and that he was damn good at it.
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the next book.
This is different than the normal books I read lately. Mostly murder who did it kind of book. Malcolm gave the reader a very good look at his profession as a sex therapist and relationship therapist. I could see the issues with Sean and Becky being real. I can’t wait to read the next book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
This was interesting. I enjoyed Sean and Becky’s story and Malcolm made some great points but overall it wasn’t enjoyable for me. The kink was spicy and the hints of what may or may not happen between Ava and Malcolm are intriguing but not enough for me to want to read the next book. But the writing was good and I wouldn’t mind reading other books predominately from the male character’s pov.
