"Got Lost is the funniest book in the series. A tour de force urban fantasy with more laughs, deeper emotions, and a sarcastic private detective who can burn with both magic and words." —Paul Genesse, #1 Amazon bestselling author of Sakura: Intellectual Property
Goethe “Got” Luck hasn’t been to a lot of weddings, but it doesn’t take a detective to know it’s a catastrophe when the bride is weeping, the groom is bleeding, and the choir children have vanished into thin air.
When the FBI shows up at his door accusing him of kidnapping, Got knows something is vastly wrong. He’s done a lot of things, but stealing children isn't one of them. To clear his name, Got goes on the hunt for the missing kids and finds himself trapped in the realm of dreams. Ruled by a cunning goddess with her own agenda, the realm of dreams is filled with shifting realities and no way out. To rescue the children—and himself—Got must face the mysteries of this realm and its frightening adversaries head on. Even with all his magic, Got’s luck might have run out now that he’s lost.

Finding lost children can be hard. Tracking them down in the Behindbeyond can be deadly.
As the halfling son of the Alder King, ruler of the Fae, Goethe "Got" Luck has a knack for attracting trouble. In all his dealings with evil, both immortal and not-so-much, he's come across several beings who'd love to see him step off a cliff. Along comes a girl who almost makes their dreams come true and puts Got on a path in search of the world's missing children in a realm where the very laws of nature bend to the will of a capricious goddess (aren't they all?).
While in pursuit of the truth by the mysterious Alyce, and being pursued by Agent Petit-Palais of the FBI, Got traverses swamps, monster-guarded portals, and the land of Tir na Nog in search for answers to who's stealing children from around two worlds.
What I liked: Everything. Great plot. Wonderful visuals. Witty humor, though usually contained in Got's internal dialog. I plan on going back to the beginning and re-reading the entire series again.
What I didn't like: I wished Got's wife, Erin aka Faidh, were more involved in the story (both in the Behindbeyond and in the mortal world). In Got Lost, she was more of a minor character than in the previous books.
Overall: Michael Darling earns a hat-trick of top ratings for his Behindbeyond series from me. I give Got Lost a resounding five stars and look forward to more from this brilliant and imaginative author extraordinaire.
Not only does Mr. Darling have a very creative mind, but he's also quite funny! The book moved quickly and there were no lags in plotting or the fast pacing. I love the world Darling created and would highly recommend this third book in the Behind Beyond Book series to everyone!
At a wedding rehearsal a mortal girl filled with magic shows up. Got, a half fae PI, tries to find out who she is. As he is investigating, a number of people go missing from a wedding. As suspicion falls on him for the kids disappearance he goes to the dream world to find answers. His time there is filled with adventure and danger as he tries to find the kids and bring them home. This is book 3 in the Got series.
The snarky humour is still there, the humour is never far away but this is a darker tale by far! A more complex one too, so many details from the first two books come back to haunt Got in this story! It makes it all the more exciting for that reason. Emotional too. The ending is shocking and glorious in equal measure.
