I'll be completely honest, I'm not very invested to the story. The plot is nothing too fancy. Though I was not looking for complicated plot when I picked this up and simple story is enough for me, but the thing is, the plot can't keep me well-focused.
I've always loved sly, clever and scheming characters. One best example of that kind of character is the MC from QWFOD, and in my opinion, he's up there on the list. I don't know why but Zhou Yang, the MC in this novel, is just too scheming for my taste. His manipulation isn't sitting well with me and I can't point out exactly what's wrong. The romance between him and the Moodys (ML, which I think has a weird name) is a bit awkward and cringey for me. It's not actually bad, and their interactions made me smile sometimes, but most of the time, it was nah.
Full of face-slapping moments, which I loved. But overall, this novel is just so-so for me. Not really bad, but not that great either. You should decide for yourself if you're going to try this out. Don't let my review deter you from picking this up, maybe you'll like this
It is that typical novels where the author didn´t think that much of a plot and just like "nah okay my character transmigrating? okay cool then him bumping to a rich man? sure."
It was quite enjoyable due to the funny scenes. Though what makes it really bad are the stupid & dumb characters, literally all of them are dumb.
If you´re finding a novel to pass time and doesn´t really mind cliche plotline, maybe this is a novel for you.
I have mixed feeling about this. I liked the plot, I liked how the ML wasn't the most handsome man in the universe, I like how it's basically a reversal - in other novels the MC would be the one with the kind, righteous personality while the ML would be the yandere doing things in the dark while the MC remained oblivious... in this one, the MC was the yandere whilst ML was the kind and righteous person. And the ML in this one didn't stay oblivious. I liked how they also communicated properly in the relationship... it's just that, there's no... how should I describe it... there's no emotional aspect to the story. It's odd, but, but even when I was reading about the characters' struggles, I barely felt anything. My thoughts was mostly along the lines of, "huh, new trouble, wonder how they'll get out of this one". I mean, you knew the main characters wouldn't die, so there's no emotional risk whenever they're in danger. Maybe that was the downside - whether the MC failed, there was no risk to himself. On the other side of the coin, it also meant that his successes felt rather flat...
although many people said that this story just like an unpolished prototype from another story, predictable, lack of soul, the way of author write this story very crude and have many loophole, i quite like this story. its a fun story to read. this story have a lil bit angst, an apropriate face slapping moment, a clever MC which have a white lotus face and temperament but schemming and petty inside, a down to earth ML eventhough he is OP but not dominering and have a good temper, and the interaction between ML-MC is sweet enough to make me smile
I loved the equality in this book and the strong shou. In fact, I generally love the main relationship in this story, except where the shou makes the gong say some cringe-worthy things.
I thought there was a lot of interesting plot in this story, and a variety of different couples.
It was definitely an entertaining read, though the ending and some plot points remained unresolved (there must be a related novel...)
It was not terrible but it was still pretty bad. I managed to finish it only skipping every 2nd page and i did not miss anything important or interesting by doing this. I liked the premise of the story - someone beautiful loves an ugly person with a higher status - and i liked interactions btw the main cp, but other than that the story was really boring.
