Rene Webb, a former Catholic schoolgirl and child of the ‘80’s, is a recovering soap opera addict who grew up watching General Hospital. She became weary with the relentless drama and sought out stories with happy endings that lasted. Now, Rene is an erotic romance author, where there is always a happily-ever-after!

Authors such as Jane Austen, Kristen Ashley, Cherise Sinclair, Sierra Cartwright, Donna Fletcher, and Laura Kaye have inspired her. They all create strong female characters, swoon-worthy men, and stories that leave their readers with the hope that you, too, will find your own H.E.A.!

Rene’s novels include UNCOVERING LILY a sexy romance with a dash of suspense, FINDING SUNSHINE a sweet and sexy contemporary romance, and A WHITE HOT CHRISTMAS a steamy holiday romance.

A graduate of The George Washington University in Washington DC, ’05, with a BA in History. Rene went on to get her Masters in Film Studies, ’09, from Chapman University, Orange, CA.

When Rene’s characters aren’t talking to her, she enjoys reading, seeing movies, going to museums, playing tabletop games and spending time with her friends and family.

Rene lives in Northern Virginia.

Nice and sexy closing.

After running for her life and trying to finding out the shady secrets surrounding her family, Lily is finally getting a glimpse of freedom.

Even being in love and so close to Finn, I liked the way she held herself and made decisions about her life. She wasn't reckless and she balanced rational decisions with emotional inputs.

Finn was his protective type the whole time, but he was also supportive and respective of her decisions.

The book was sexy and fast paced and I really enjoyed the story.

This is book three in The Mackay International Series and it is the conclusion to this powerful series. Omg this was an absolutely brilliant conclusion to this series and I couldn't put it down as it was so addictive. There are twists and turns along with danger, hot chemistry, hope and other situations and you really need to read this series and you will definitely not be disappointed. Rene Webb is fast becoming one of my favourite authors as her books are so well written and definitely keep you on your toes and you can't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next. Just remember this series needs to be read from book one as it is not a standalone book.

Freeing Lily is the third book in the McKay International Series. It concludes Finn and Lily’s journey. Finn and Peter fight their battles to keep Lily safe from her evil step father while to two question their feelings and if they’re true or a result of the incredible danger they are in. These two are seriously hot together and I loved following this story.

What a fantastic conclusion to Lily & Finn’s story. Intense attraction and chemistry sizzles, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. I can't say enough good things about it...just read the series!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Not a complementary review. You’ve been warned.

This was a trilogy I finished out of pure pigheadedness. I wasn’t particularly enjoying the story or the writing style, but I couldn’t turn away from the slow motion car crash.

You’ve read the blurb, a college student was abducted during a holiday vacation in Paris. She’s taken to a Hong Kong brothel, where she’s confined for weeks, just waiting for a mysterious businessman, who just happens to be her cousin’s bestie, to come and buy her for the evening.

He knows her, but she doesn’t recognize him. Yet he proceeds to have sex with her, after finding out she’s still a virgin. Don’t worry, by the time the male cousin catches up with his bestie they’re all couple-ly. But in the meantime, dubcon. All the girl is thinking is, “hey, if I’m getting prostituted out, why not go for the hot American who doesn’t skeve me out”.

Enough plot, the writing techniques that didn’t do it for me:

1. Instalove. Not a fan. The power disparity making it worse.

2. I like a bit of male possessiveness, but the romance cliche “mine” was way overdone here.

3. The private security stuff didn’t feel accurate. You need at least two security guards to swap off shifts. And your security guard isn’t your new bestie to gossip & shop with, only to get out of the way when you want to have sex.

4. Speaking of security, when you’re running for your life, high end hotels, fancy dinners, touristy stuff, & luxury shopping. Not so much.

5. Stylistically, there was lots of extraneous information. From unnecessary infodumps, to characters that didn’t need to be fleshed out so much, to way too many adjectives stuffed in a given sentence. Why did we need to know the security guard had daughters at home, much less their names?

6. Lots of the text had a constant “OMG! WOW!” feel.

I’m sure I had other complaints going along, but those were the highlights. I didn’t come away liking any of the characters all that much.

Conclusion to the Mackay International Series. Although, Rene does give background information that will keep you updated to events in previous two books, series is best enjoyed by reading all three books.

Finn, Lily and Aunt Kitty are in London waiting to be able to return once Mayer is arrested and Lily is out of danger. Once home in Boston, Lily must sit and give her statement to the FBI. While her mom is with the FBI, Lily returns to her childhood home to gather her personal possessions and remembers a letter her father gave her years ago.

Lily and Peter make a decision to lead the family company in a new direction as they take over.

We get a sweet epilogue a year later for Finn and Lily.

This series is so worth the time to read. Short books in series, but they pack a lot of punch. Rene has a way of providing a lot of detail, surprises, and HEAT in each one. Plus, the HEA we all want after watching Finn and Lily fall in love.

The final in the trilogy concludes with Lily and Finn finding their way back to each other. The heat still carries over from the first two books as Finn is determined to keep Lily, and make her see that she does indeed feel the same way as he does!
As her step father finds ways to separate them by hiring men to destroy one of Finn's warehouses, Finn returns to the US without Lily. Keeping her safe with her Aunt Kitty and with a security detail, he feels she will be safe until he returns to her.
Meanwhile her Step father is captured and arrested, so Lily and Kitty make their way back to Boston. Lily is prepared to admit her feelings to Finn, even though they have only know each other for a short time.
In another twist, Lily finds that the FBI are keeping her away from Finn as he is a suspect in the sex trade where he freed her from in Hong Kong.
A twist here and there is enough drama to keep you vested in the couple and I found this the most entertaining of all three books.
A great conclusion to the book as they do finally reach a HEA.
A bonus scene is available to see Lily and Finn and what they are up to after being together for twelve months.

Freeing Lily is the spectacular conclusion to Lily & Finn's story, and so you CANNOT start with this one, you MUST read them in order. I've started giving no detail about conclusions since people may or may not have read the previous books because it can be spoilers for them. There are so many intense twists that I was dropping crazy amounts of f-bombs while on the edge of my seat with heart racing like there was no tomorrow. Intense (yes intense one word that can describe this story) chemistry shot sparks in every direction as these two were absolutely perfect for each other but it certainly wasn't any sort of easy journey. They were human with complexities that made them relatable to me, so I couldn't help but cheer them on like my favorite football team every weekend. I'm going to stop here though because y'all just need to read this conclusion and/or the whole series so you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I honestly preferred book 3 over but 1 and 2 of this series!! But you obviously need to read books 1 and 2 first as they are not stand alone novels. I like how in book 3 we are able to get a little one year time jump in the future and I love the fact that they for-shadowed the very first date that they had in one of the other books as well as the possible proposal from the previous book as well (don't want to spoil by saying more).

I still do think that it would have probably been better (in my opinion) if all 3 books were combined as opposed to being separate but that's not a major concern.

I thought this story had more steam than suspense though I did enjoy reading it. The characters were meshing as a family in this story and their relationship continued to grow. I would have liked to see more interactions between the villains (of which I thought there were two not one) and our lead characters. It was ok to read as background information but the intensity from the first book was missing in my opinion.

Finally - the long awaited conclusion to Lily’s saga! You must read Uncovering Lily and Claiming Lily first. This steamy hot suspense romance is well-written and just an overall great read. Why was Lily kidnapped? Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? Does Finn have an available brother? There are some very bittersweet moments but overall, these 3 books will leave you with a smile! Well done!

Freeing Lily
By Rene Webb
Main Characters: Lily and Finn
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
This is the 3rd book in the McKay International Series. This book has a little of everything twists and turns, lots of hot chemistry, adventure, and toss in a little danger. Also a HEA ending. I would have liked to see an epilogue. (I'm a big fan of them)

The final book in the Trilogy.
I've started to really like the characters.
Questions get answered and Lily's heart get broken by the betrayal of her loved ones.
She discovers things from her father and she has a challenge to step up and take over her fathers business. Also is she ready to confess her love for Finn?

The story was well written and characters all developed brilliantly throughout.

I loved the epilogue, it was perfect Ending.

What happened? Too short, no plot, no details! Disappointed.

Book 1 was good, I liked the main characters and plot, it held my interest..but the rest fell apart like no plot, twists, character development.

This writer can do hot and steamy really well but it's just not enough. I'm surprised an editor would let this series as is be published. Heads up Amazon, not good for business!

Are they "two worlds apart" ?

Lily and Finn's relationship evolves quickly as more pieces of the abduction scheme are revealed. It's a romance with suspense, danger, violence and some plot twists. Like books 1 and 2, this book is a quick, engaging read, only 128 pages. I think it should be a duet, not a three book series. I recommend reading these books in chronological order to get the full impact.

Lily & Finn

The finallee brings this couple to begin their forever with e ach other. This series captivated me & although I usually do not go for stories with cliffhangers I found I needed to continue and purchased the last 2 books. Great read & highly recommend if you are into suspense, angst & explicit sex scenes. Oh the love !!!! (Reviewed by, Lin)

I enjoyed the conclusion of Lily’s story but I felt it could have been a bit more detailed. Readers had no immediate connection with the villain, her stepfather. Her Mother’s behavior, also villainous, was never truly explored; it was only voiced as Lily’s opinion. An epilogue with a visit to her aunt Kitty and Trevor’s father would have tied up everything in a nice big bow😊

Freeing Lily

This was a great book and series and so happy of the outcome! The way the book flows from the kidnapping to finding out the problems and making sure that the man was found and charged with the crimes that he committed was a large part of the story and was done beautifully!

The wait was worth it

This series from beginning to end drew me in. Kept me reading out of sheer want to know if they make it thru and if lily gets her life back. This book is better than any international spy book. It just shows that love can have a happy ending.
