+ Very informative and well-researched.
+ Lots of relatable examples and anecdotes.
- Unclear who the audience is. Sometimes speaks about the narcissist parent, sometimes about its child, sometimes about a narcissist parent and sometimes about the therapist. Language use changes a lot from the simple and daily, to the more specialized and professional.
- The narration of the audiobook is not very fluent with frequent pauses mid-sentence.

Because of its wide focus, this book could be recommended to anyone who wants to understand narcissism and its effects. If it seems a chapter is not for you, just skip it.

While the writing is not always great, this has some great information and suggestions for how to move forward.

I listened to the audiobook on Scribd (version 2.0). Very informative and helpful with great examples. I am now 100% certain my mother has NPD. Through examples provided, I had so many, "Aha!" moments about my mother's behaviors and responses that my siblings and I have clocked and been hurt and bewildered by over the years. It makes so much sense now. This book covers a wide range of narcisstic tendencies as well as cause, response, treatment, trials and advice.

I hate writing negative reviews for books by smaller authors, but both the writing and audiobook performance were painfully stilted and ineffective. This could be a good physical read for people initially approaching these ideas. For those who prefer audio learning, youtube videos would be more enjoyable

I really didn’t find this very helpful at all, as far as offering practical ways for an adult to regularly deal with a narcissistic mother.
Also, the narrator (I think maybe the author?) was terrible - tripping over words, etc.
