I was born a 1%ER.
I earned the right to be a King.

For the past ten years, I’ve dedicated my life upholding the legacy that is Kings of Carnage Motorcycle Club. My job as a Nomad is to ensure that King Nation thrives as a whole. And that the poor decisions of one charter doesn’t determine the fate of the patch.

When I get the unsettling news that ghosts of the club’s past have come back to haunt our mother chapter, I head home to Uprising—prepared to unleash Hell on those who think they can take the kingdom myself and my brothers before me built.

What I’m not prepared for is the loud, infuriating, foul mouthed brat with the ridiculous name who cleans the clubhouse. Despite her incessant talking and overly cheerful mood, there’s a sadness in her eyes that pulls at my protective instinct. Ignoring the feeling is easy. Until she comes up missing. And for the first time in ten years, I find myself questioning if King Nation is still most important thing in my life.

When you’ve been cursed with a name like mine, you develop a thick skin and a high tolerance for jerks. But even Apple Seven VanHolland wasn’t a horrible enough name to prepare me for Kings of Carnage Nomad Bouncer.

He’s the most narcissistic person I’ve ever met. Even his sexy tattoos, perfect body, and killer eyes can’t atone for his rudeness. He acts as though he can’t stand me. But I notice the way he looks at me—like he can see into my soul. Like he can sense my despair. My struggle. And most importantly, the war that rages inside me.

Unbeknownst to him, I can see his too.

Bouncer by Kim Jones was the fifth book in the Kings of Carnage MC series. The series was written by six separate authors and although are all part of the MC storyline, the books can be read in order or as stand-alones.

Bouncer was a nomad. He was restless with a mix of psychotic, OCD and paranoia. He wasn’t kind, didn’t interact with strangers and was loyal to his MC brothers.

Apple was quirky and eccentric. She cleaned the MC clubhouse and could hold her own against any one of them. She was snarky and sarcastic but also strong and kind hearted. The MC knew she had secrets but also knew she wasn’t a threat. Except Bouncer - they disliked each other from the start. But you know what they say about the line between love and hate...

I enjoyed the storyline. It had a mixture of fun, sexy and suspense. I also enjoyed how Apple had endeared herself to the MC. She had earned their respect and loyalty. And although Bouncer had his oddities, he too was lovable.

All in all, it was a another great addition to the series. Sly is up next and looks promising!

Okay, this book was too short for any decent development (and man, the characters were underdevelopment) but... it was very entertaining. I love the heroine's POV. I love the paranoid-almost-psychotic hero. And I absolutely love the epilogue.

I just love Kim Jones' books.

I’ve read a few MC Romances by Kim Jones in the past few years, and over the time I found I really enjoyed her style of writing. I was excited to see what she brings to the Kings Of Carnage series… There were things I loved about this novel, and things I wanted more of so let’s get to the review.

Bouncer and Apple’s story was great at the beginning. I loved the fact that she did everything in her power to push every single one of Bouncer’s buttons. She knew at the beginning he was the one who could very well expose her for who she really was, and she did everything to keep him at arm's length. But sometimes fate has a funny way of stepping in the way and rerouting situations.

The night after the party, Bouncer finds himself taking care of a mystery woman. A woman who happened to sneak away the next morning while he was in the shower. He’s about to get a shock of his life when he realizes the mystery woman is the very same disrespectful woman he met at the party the night before… Apple.

I liked the fact that Apple and Bouncer shared similarities. They both lived life keeping to themselves, never forming attachments and never wanting to depend on another person. Throughout this novel, I loved watching the two slowly tear down one another’s walls. I loved seeing a softer side to Apple and a gentler side to Bouncer. These two were clearly made for each other, and that’s not where the problem for my lies.

The reason why I rated this a 3 star is for all the background information that wasn’t told. I wanted a more in depth view of both Bouncer and Apple’s backgrounds. I wanted flashback scenes. I wanted to feel the two instances of terror that initially caused the two of them to build up walls in order to keep people out. When I caught a glimpse of Apples backstory towards the end, I never wanted more of something in my life! I didn’t really get that feeling of a connection with Apple’s character and I think if I would have had more of an insight into her past, I would have had a better feel for her emotions and her ways of thinking through scenarios. Basically, the bottom line is, I wanted to get to know her more. I felt the novel was a bit to fast paced for me to get to that point.

At the end of the day, this was a compelling story that had me on the edge of my seat filled with suspense and romance, but I needed a little bit more to push it up to a four star rating.

I absolutely LOVED this book! My favorite in the series! Really, my only issue with it is I would have liked a little more background on Apple. Although, in the beginning, Bouncer seemed like a real SOB, it soon became apparent why he was the way he was. So, in my eyes he quickly redeemed (mostly) himself. Apple was at times hilarious, and at other times so sad.

Two of the things I loved the most about the book were Apple's epilogue and the "About the Author" section. Both were hilarious. BUT, that epilogue was also missing a little something, it seemed to me. Even so, I loved the book.

I was so excited to read another book by this author..."Saving Dallas" was an all-time favorite of mine. This story made me yawn though... and a good biker book should not bore anyone! Apple was a riot in the first chapter. But that's it. Her entire personality changed and she became a weak insta love type of girl. Ugh 🤮. Bouncers character was just lame. I actually found him to be annoying and not a hot-alpha male that I swooned over.

Ok, Kim Jones if this is your type of writing, I'm definitely checking out your other books because I love a good story that can make me laugh and cry. And I laughed so hard I cried with this one. Keep up the good work, looking forward to what's next!

I have been reading this series since the beginning, and I was so excited for Kim’s book to come along. It was the one I was most looking forward to.

I knew it was going to be on the shorter side (they all are), so I wasn’t shocked by that. Kim definitely was able to make a great story out of 35K words. Loved the personality of both main characters in the story. It hit all the key developments of a novel in a novella length story.

Can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, but I would suggest starting from the beginning of the series, it’s better that way.

Kim, great book. You blow me away every time girl!!

Bouncer

I loved Apple and Bouncers story these two are perfect for one another. I loved how they reacted when they first met and how they moved from not liking one another to falling in love. They say he took care of her holy crap I want more of their story. Especially after the Olive Garden scene lol that way classic.

Bouncer and Apple's story...yes you read that right... Apple is her legal birth name. When she showed up before I figured she was just being a smartass saying her name was Apple.

Well everyone has a story to tell and now it's their turn. Bouncer is a nomad who runs between clubs and he is a bit over kill about security. He is also ex military. He has his demons he fights but he is doing ok.

Apple is a mystery. She was hired to clean the clubhouse. She made it a point to let them all know up front she was not going to sleep with any of them. She keeps a low profile and makes herself less appealing. You know...the over sized ratty clothes, messy hair and no makeup.

For these two it was hate at first sight.... mostly on Bouncer's side. If course she made a few comments to him while drunk so that really pissed him off more. What's it going to take to turn things around?

Almost forgot....the thing I didn't like...in the last book when Apple was hired, the brother who found her, found her in little five points...it was even said in the last book....the author made mention of the Vortex in little five points. That is a real place. It's been a good while ago but we went there to eat....had a friend who worked there. It was a place where hipsters hung around. Every time this author said four points I wanted to scream....no it FIVE points.. yes I know it was probably just me who got annoyed by that but it took a point off🤷

🍎Bouncer's sour Apple🍏

This is my 1st Kim Jones book and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I laughed so much throughout the entire story with Apple's antics and I even shed a few tears! This and Jinx's story have been my favorite out of the 6 book series. I really would've loved to get a bit more of Bouncer's backstory, like what happened while he was in the service that caused such a big change in him. Also he is a Dom as we learned in Jinx's story, so I would've liked to see more about that and have him introduce Apple to that lifestyle. Apple was a quirky, funny, woman who was hiding her pain and past tragic life by being obnoxious. She finds herself being taken in by the KOCMC as their cleaning lady, that's where she meets Nomad and they start off on the wrong foot but eventually they both realize that they are what each other needed all along. They have some issues to deal with but eventually they get their well deserved HEA🩷❤️‍🔥🩷 I can't wait to dive into more of Kim Jones' books pretty soon. I definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series as well.

Well Hello Apple

This is book five in the series Kings of Carnage. This book is more like a section of the series that features a nomad named Bouncer. He is one of the best trackers and back to help his MC. His MC brothers are way too loose about security that even I was like wait what?! Bouncer does not like crowds but when he arrives there is an event happening. He run into this eclectic woman named Apple who cleans up the club house with big yellow gloves on. Apple irritates Bouncer at first. Well that is until he accidentally discovers her submissive side that turns him on. It’s an interesting story to add to the series. There is a happy ending for the couple but no other answers are given about anything else. Read On!

Awesomely weird and funny🤩

Kim Jones certainly knows how to “bring it” with her books and this one is no different❣️

Bouncer returns to Uprising but is immediately on alert when he discovers that there’s a big party at the Clubhouse. When a chick sidles up to him with latex gloves on….he’s like nah, I don’t like this chick😳 Only to discover he can’t stop thinking about Apple when she’s not at the Clubhouse😉

Suffice to say Apple and Bouncer’s stories are sad but also filled with a side of “weird” but also some really funny moments🤣 What can I say another 5 star hit and I LOVED IT❤️

The addition of Bouncer to this series by Kim Jones was perfection. Having been introduced to these two in previous books I couldn’t wait for their story and Kim did not disappoint. Apple is sassy and stubborn. Bouncer is intense, loyal, and protective as hell specially of his club. The interactions between these two were hilarious, sexy and sweet. I absolutely adored Bouncer, while he had a hard exterior, behind closed doors he is seriously one sexy alpha with a side of teddy bear. Loved loved loved this book. I highly recommend and can’t wait to read Sly.

Read it you won’t be sorry!

I’ve read all the books in the series and they are ok,but this one is a must read. I laughed on page one but was not expecting to. There is something about Apple that just made my day. She was much more than I was expecting after her appearance in jinx. I loved the story of Bouncer and Apple and was so glad the book didn’t spend too much time expounding Bouncers kink. There is no cheating which is a deal breaker for me if sex occurs outside of the H/h after they get together.

Kim jones is badass!

I’m very behind on my tbr. list. Kim writes another spectacular biker romance that will make your toes curl. I hate to tell you what the book is about, you can find that out all on your own. Apple is a breath of fresh air when it comes to your leading lady. Exquisite, eccentric, and opinionated, and no holds bar kind of chick. What’s not to love. Bouncer bossy, arrogant, controlling, and all the things that make a typical book biker. A romance that leaves you wanting more from not only these characters but the author also.

If you’re a fan of a damsel in need of a hot guy to rescue her, this story is for you.
Apple, feisty and stubborn, catches the eye of her reluctant hero and the rest, as they say, is history.
Poor Bouncer didn’t know what hit him, he didn’t even see it coming. This bada$$ biker never stood a chance against his worthy opponent.
I would love to read more about this couple in the future. I suspect this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Apple and Bouncer.

I love Kim’s writing style, she delivered an amazing book.
This book narrates the story of Bouncer a member of the Kings of Carnage Motorcycle Club. Bouncer is known as Nomad, someone that doesn’t settle in one place for too long until he meets Apple, the girl that won’t let anyone in until him.
I loved Apple and Bouncer’s personalities they are unique in their own way.
Thanks Kim for sharing their story with us, I would love to hear more from them in the future.

Great

Bouncer is with the Kings of Carnage MC, he's what they call a nomad. Apple works at the Kings of carnage cleaning up after the club members, but is carrying some secrets. When Bouncer and Apple first meet he can't stand her.  But something changes for Bouncer when Apple needs help. Will Apple change Bouncer's nomad status? Can he protect her from dangers to come? Will there be a HEA?

I didn't like this book on any level. I have loved many of the other books in this series but not this one. The plot is fast, jumps from point to point and has no roots. The relationship between Apple and Bouncer is strange and felt fast-tracked with no growth. Sorry its just not good and I am confused about the positive reviews but to each their own. I am sad I wasted my time on this book. Hopefully the authors next project will be better.

Bouncer and Apple

This is my first book by Kim Jones, and I have to say I am so glad I took the chance. Kim Jones has a new fan. This book was simply perfect. Apple and Bouncer are two people who have secrets, hide from the world around them but discover that together they are unstoppable. I loved their banter, their chemistry, and their sweet connection. I loved everything about this book.

I like the story, but there wasn't a lot of action for me. Bouncer is a nomad and helps the club when he can and he's a veteran. He doesn't like closed in places and no escape route, which is par for military or ex for that matter. Apple is strange and they thought she was just a homeless girl. They gave her a job and a place to sleep and feel safe. But Bouncer isn't buying it. A little action at the end but that's it. HEA.

Just wow!!

If there were ever two different, quirky, kinky, oddballs, I would have to say Bouncer and Apple would win hands down. They are different alright. Great story. Heartbreaking story. Find love at the oddest of times story. These 6 writers came together and compiled an outlaw MC that were written so differently but mesh so well. They guys are rough around the edges but the women who come into their lives soften out their hard edges perfectly.

A great story

This was an intriguing story that was a great addition to the series. The ending felt rushed, like once the couple got together that the rest didn't really matter, and the way that the book was described wasn't really how it played out, at least not to me. Overall, it was an interesting story that I enjoyed.
I would recommend this book, series, and terrific authors.

KU. Book 5 Kings of Carnage Series by Kim Jones. Story was kind of stupid; what I liked about the book was the way that Apple was towards Bouncer. It was hilarious the way that she frustrated him with her sarcastic wit and the way the guys in the club acted. Bouncer walked around grumpy and irritated all the time. I thought that the book was funny and entertaining in that regards. I thought that the romance part of the story was dumb.

Loved the characters. The writing was well done, but the story itself seemed 2 dimensional and incomplete. Apple and Bouncer seemed to be a good fit, but you never really found out what made each of them do the things they did or be the way they were. And why was Apple being kicked out of the restaurant? What did I miss? I feel like I missed a lot or there was a lot missing

Great book

A retired veteran who just happens to not only be a Dom but also a Homer for the Kings, A brother who takes his job and responsibilities seriously. She's a firstly young woman hiding from a past she never wanted with more than a few quirks of her own. This strange union will give you a few laughs and also bring you to tears at times, and with the Kings of Carnage expect the HEA you want and need at the end.
