What I liked about this story was that it was a bit grittier than the previous books in the series. The problems with his daughters was more severe and when he was engaging in adventures oversees, Zero wasn't just attacking nameless, faceless, unimportant bad guys, but sometimes having to go after people who would be good guys acting on behalf of the villains. The moral ambiguity was an interesting touch.

There is nothing I didn’t love about this thriller, absolutely amazing. Kept me glued to the finish, I can’t wait for the sequel, If I could it I’d give it 10 stars!

Former CIA agent Kent Steele is back in action om the aptly titled, Recall Zero.
Jack Mars brings us volume six of his spy thriller series featuring the exceptional and exasperating CIA agent Kent Steele, a.k.a. Agent Zero; the man who had his memory erased only to have it restored. And yes, that is creating problems.
Steele has his Achilles' heel. He is frustratingly inept at solving his own problems even as he is very adept at solving world problems. At times, in this volume, my internal voice was screaming, "Get it together, man!" Why? Steele is at times as boneheaded as a father as he is brilliant as an agent. Mars wants to remind us Agent Zero may be the best, but he is human!
Mars provides the acceleration, intrigue, and action. One has called this book, "un-putdownable." That's a new word to me, and apropos when it comes to this series.

A Ukrainian translator is on the run after she sits in with the Presidents of the United States and Russia in a secret meeting where she learns that Russia requests some very extraordinary moves to be made by the US President. These moves will lead to war and the destruction of her own country, Ukraine. Once she realizes that she is now a marked woman and will soon die because she knows too much she begins to run. And, the Russians and CIA are not far behind.
Agent Zero, who has retired from his work at the CIA is asked to help her and he may be the only one who can, so he comes out of retirement. She is tricked by the Russian assassins several times in her attempt to get away but Zero arrives to save the day as he has been known to do.
But, even with his best friend, Alan at his side, it may not be easy to save the day and the world too.

Best in series so far.
Admittedly my biggest gripe about the Zero series is always with "Reid Lawson." Thankfully, #6 takes a refreshing approach and the Doofus-ness is toned way down. Reid hits a serious and emotional rock bottom drawing true sympathy from the reader. Recall Zero is about him understanding Kent Steele is his true being and Lawson the "alter ego." I was happy to see him back in action and metaphorically letting go of suburban life. Hopefully this addition marks a new direction for an "okay" series into a "good/great" one. I always mentions how there's serious competition in this genre but Zero and his girls are finally starting to grow on me. My motivation to read #7 is the highest so far, albeit still not a "must read" to me.

It's not my favourite of the series and I think it could have been better. I think the story per se was rushed especially towards the end and the editing could have been crisper. I can understand what losing the only thing that made sense aka your job can do to you. And how bereft, and alone it can make you feel. And how energized you can feel when you get back to it again. But I'd still think Zero's daughters need to give him a chance and understand him. Sometimes people cannot do anything about simply how much their world reolves around their work. And I guess it's because of people like them the lesser mortals and mediocre can survive in the world and workplace. Because a genius covers for them simply by existing.

Nothing new but well done and with some interesting plot twists.
Fast pacing, I found it to be a page turner (well, to be honest I listened to it!). Good writing style.
I'm talking about a book that is not in any way a great action book, but it's an anjoyable book all the same.
I'll read the sequel sometimes soon.

Zero is disassociated from the world. Even his daughters are estranged. He is no longer a CIA agent. His only contacts are Maria, his live in life partner, and Mitch, his former CIA partner and best friend.Then he is asked to help a woman he has never met. So, does Zero get back in the saddle after his fall? Again, this book like the others, is a page turner. Lots of action, subterfuge, and surprises.

Low Times
Wow, what a shift of temperament with this novel. Zero loses his girls because he tells the truth. They abandon him and he sinks into depression. The phone call jump starts him into action once again. The off the books operation doesn't go anything like Zero was hoping.

It seems like the Agent Zero series has fallen into the same pattern as so many other book serials. The author hits a home run with the first and second books and each subsequent entry in the series get incrementally worse until you reach the point that you wonder how such a fine author could churn out such drivel.

Riveting
I loved every minute of this book. In fact I read it in two days. From start to finish it was like an addiction. I'd start but try as I might, I could not stop reading or listening. In my opinion, one of the best written books by Jack Mars to date. I'll stop writing as I do not want to leave any spoilers. If there was a ten star rating, I'd give it a twenty!

I really like this series and will continue to read the books. The characters are likeable and consistent and there is plenty of action. Literary license is taken by the author and some things are factually wrong. But one can look past that.

Action packed. Zero never fails his missions. It’s a page turner. I recommend this and the entirety of the Agent Zero series.

Love Jack Mars books!
I’ve read most of this series and love it! If you like Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills, Tom Clancy or David Baldacci, you will love these books. Once I start reading I have to finish. The stories just take you over. Jack, you need to write faster...lol
