Good Deeds Gone Wrong is a charming and lighthearted story that explores the ups and downs of trying to do the right thing. Ruthie Godfrey’s playful narrative shows children that even well-intentioned actions can have unexpected results, and that learning from mistakes is part of growing up.
Helen Ayle’s illustrations perfectly complement the story, bringing humor, color, and lively energy to every page. A delightful read! Will definitely share it with family and friends!
It is always a pleasure to find fellow educators doing the best for their students as the author did for hers!
This is a wonderful book about a student named Stephen who did everything wrong during the ‘Good Deeds Week’ until he was shown how to do it right. The main character of the story demonstrated enthusiasm and good intentions but those good qualities were not enough. One has to perform the deeds correctly, without hurting others like neighbors, friends and classmates. Moreover, one also needs to be responsible for his/ her own actions and if he/ she fails, he/ she should brush it off and carry on.
Our compliments to the author for writing a book (this book) about her students and dedicating it to them! It is a delight to have read it and will definitely share it with family and friends!

NOTE: I haven't read this on Kindle, but on Kobo it was really hard to see the words using the app on my phone so I recommend buying a physical copy. (It was readable from my laptop.)
Stephen is a lovable character & I hope to read his other books. I really love the way he is excited about Good Deeds Week, but things keep going wrong. Let's face it, sometimes life is like that. He doesn't let his disappointments stop him and at the end of the book there is fruit from his good deeds, in spite of the mishaps and disappointments. This book made me laugh out loud several times & the illustrations also made me smile.
And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24 is the inspiration for Stephen’s story.
Awesome book by Ruthie Godfrey! Stephen starts Good Deeds Week with great intentions, but nothing seems to go as planned. Every time he tries to do something good for someone, it backfires on him.
Stephen begins to feel like the week is a total disaster until his best friend Bobby performs good deed for HIM and makes him feel better. The reminder of how great it feels to have others do things to make us feel good makes Stephen even more excited about helping others.
This is a great book for kids of all ages, and I'll my 6-year-old granddaughter and 8-year-old grandtwins will love it!
This is a great book! Very cute, but also funny. I was laughing out loud at times. It’s a character-building story for children to learn kindness and perseverance- to keep trying and not be hard on themselves no matter how many let downs they experience.
This is a sweet story and great lesson about Stephen’s perseverance. It seems, even though his heart was in the right place, every ‘kind’ thing he did for others backfired. But he didn’t give up or remain discouraged for long! This is a valuable lesson for kids of all ages. Things may not go right today, but there’s always tomorrow!
I love the way the story showed that sometimes your kindness may not get the results you were seeking but you should keep trying. My kids l I very the pictures and received ideas on how to show kindness every day.
Ruthie Godfrey has created a wonderful children's story related to the unexpected turns that good deeds gone wrong can take us. I highly recommend this book to any parent looking to remind their children of the power in strength and kindness.
What a cute children's story to inspire kids to keep on trying even when things do not go as planned. Fun illustrations bring character to the story. Good lesson for us all in this book.
i tend to see so many sides of stories ... i wanna every one to get along ... i know we might not always get along but trying to understand each other is so important ... take the time to just be patient and listen. please.
A story about never giving up on doing good for the world and for never ever giving up on being kind to one another even in the brink of the ending you keep pushing for being nice to others!
Very entertaining and yet educational at the same time! I love rooting for the main character and hoping he can "brush it off and carry on!" The illustrations are awesome, too. I will absolutely recommend this book! 5 stars all the way!
Excellent book and illustrations are amazing. I always try to do something good for others because I love to see people smile. God counts all our good deeds.
--- This was a cover grab to fulfill a prompt for my reading challenge. I think it would be unfair to give it a rating since I am way out of the target audience.
I love how the main character is doing his best to do great things for others and how he never gives up even though things are not going his way. This book shows that if you persevere, in the end you will win. The illustrations are nice too. Great book.
