Rubik's Cube Solution Guide for Kids: Learn How to Solve the World's Most Famous Puzzle and Impress Your Friends!

Rate this book
Rubik’s A Puzzle Every Child Should Learn to Solve. Tom was eagerly awaiting this day. For weeks he’d been begging me to buy him a Rubik’s Cube. His homeroom teacher had introduced him to the World’s Most Famous Puzzle and being the curious little fella that he is, he wanted to get his hands on one and solve it! And so, I handed the puzzle to my kid and hoped for the best. As a kid, I couldn’t even put on clothes straight- and here I was handing a cube deemed for geniuses to my boy. For the entire day, I saw my boy struggling, twisting, and turning the cube in every possible direction all to no avail. A week passed and just as I was expecting Tom to throw it in his used toy bin, he did it. “Mommy! Mommy! Look!” He had solved the puzzle. Little Thomas learned how to solve a Rubik’s Cube that day. But he also learned a more powerful lesson; he learned the power of perseverance, determination, and resilience. He learned that gratification isn’t always immediate. I was so proud of him! There are a lot of “how-to” guides and “step by step” manuals for solving Rubik’s cube out there. However, I could not find one that was designed with children in mind. This is why this book was made. It’s a Rubik’s Cube guide for kids that will not only teach them formulas and algorithms for effectively solving the puzzle but will also teach them the value of reaching a goal.  In Rubik's Cube Solution Guide for Kids you will Who is this book for? On this page you will find two versions of the black/white and full-color. Though it's not necessary to understand the content, I wholeheartedly recommend the purchase of the slightly pricier full-color version for easier navigation of the book. This is the book meant with children in mind but also for us who just want to casually learn to solve it and not participate in some speedsolving or minimum moves solving competition etc IDK. Which is why this book doesn't even use any cube notation like LRRFF'LL etc. That stuff is intimidating, and this book avoids them. Instead it employs simple arrow diagrams and lots of pictures on each step (obviously coloured). That makes memorizing the algorithms purely visual, which is much better for a beginner or causal user. You can find a lot of books if you want those notation approach anyway. The writing of this book is very friendly. There are also some trivia thrown at the end.

This is a good book to start learning cube solving, I dropped a star because it should have mentioned at least some other intermediate methods and those arrow graphics are pixelated a bit, should have been a bit better on that.

PS: there are a lot of YouTube vids to show algorithms but why go for a book? Because in a book you don't have to pause and rewind as much, which is mildly infuriating.

This is a very poor book for kids. Not only is the writing small , but the most comical part about this book is the black and white images! Why on earth would a book (designed for kids), for a coloured puzzle, have black and white images. Doesn’t get any dumber than that. Save your money here and look elsewhere.
