हृषिकेशच्या सगळ्या कथांमधून आरपार जाणारं एक सूत्र आहे.
ते म्हणजे त्यात दिसणारी कल्पनाशिलता.
त्याच्या प्रत्येक कथेच्या केंद्रस्थानी
मुठीतल्या काजव्यासारखी लुकलुकणारी एखादी कल्पना असते.
हृषिकेश त्या कल्पनेच्या सगळ्या शक्यतांचा शोध घेत जातो.
तिचे सगळे कोपरे धुंडाळतो.
महत्वाचं म्हणजे, तो या प्रक्रियेचा आनंद घेतो.
म्हणूनच त्याच्या कथांमध्ये
एक चैतन्य सळसळताना जाणवतं.
'घनगर्द' या कथांसंग्रहामधून
हृषिकेशच्या कथेने एक उंबरठा ओलांडला आहे.
ती आता अधिक व्यामिश्र आणि पैलूदार होते आहे
भय आणि अदभूताचा मार्ग तिने सोडलेला नाही.
मात्र त्या मार्गाला आता अनेक नव्या वाटा फुटलेल्या आहेत.
त्या नेमक्या कुठे जाणार हे कोणीही सांगू शकणार नाही.
पण हा प्रवास दीर्घ आणि रोमहर्षक असेल.
याची खात्री 'घनगर्द' वाचल्यावर पटते, हे महत्वाचं.

घनगर्द - एक बाप म्हणुन या कथेचा परिणाम एका वेगळ्या मितीचा होता. खिळवून ठेवणारी कथा

पानगळ - extremely visceral scare moments. It would make such an amazing screenplay.

Overhyped, lacks depth and ingenuity. Shabd-bambal. If you feel the need to write pages over pages just describing the atmosphere to scare the reader, you are not a very good writer. Author would do better to read Ratnakar Matkari to improve his craft and make it more precise. Also too much self referencing. Why is every protagonist some sort or writer in each story?

After reading अंधारवारी by the author, I actively searched for all the books written by him, because I'm a sucker for supernatural, horror stories & after completing almost all books written by Mr. Matkari, I wasn't able to find any author whose style I liked.
Well, Andharvari changed that & I decided to read other collections by Mr. Gupte.
Unlike Andharvari, Ghangard is a collection of 5 novellas- around 100 pages long each.
I liked the titular novella- घनगर्द & पानगळ. The remaining three didn't captivated me as such.
I believe Gupte is better in writing stories. In novella, he just keep on adding so many unnecessary details to make it long, he loses the reader in between.

भय/गूढ कथा आणि थरारक कथा(Thriller) यांच्या मधला एक भन्नाट रस्ता लेखकाने अतिशय अचूक शोधलाय....
सर्व कथा एका वेगळ्याच जगात घेऊन जातात...
खूप मस्त कथासंग्रह...👌🏻
