The co-author of the bestselling Wisdomkeepers interviews women elders of several Native American nations to reveal the fascinating knowledge, philosophies, and traditions of their ancestry.
Good insight into cultural beliefs and traditions from the women’s perspective, but disjointed. Would have liked a through line delineating parallels throughout history. Where do we go from here?
I really appreciated the way this book was written. It is a collection of conversations with Elder Women of Native Nations. It is beautiful, and the author takes no liberties in editing their speech patterns, he just lets it be said as it was meant.
I enjoyed the book, and the message is very clear from the elder women of varying native American Indian tribes. I am part Cherokee myself, but I found parts of this book to be a bit preachy. I assume that is the wishes of the author, basically. worth the read.
This is an amazing book, told in their own words, spanning as many topics as generations. Puts a modern face on Indigenous peoples that we NEED to see.
