CW: Suicide ideation

A girl in a terrible situation reaches out to a shut-in young man, for reasons that are less than altruistic. A young woman makes promises with men who are unlikely to keep them in order to furnish her collection of pinky fingers. And two girls with the same name discover that no one has a perfect life, and that maybe kindness is, if not the answer, at least part of it.

The back (French) copy doesn't lie when it calls this collection of three short stories bittersweet. Mizu Sahara explores different dark angles of human relationships, and she doesn't shy away from looking at the absolute worst that can result from terrible situations. But there's still something at least a little hopeful in two of the three pieces, and that's not easily achieved given the plots. This isn't a light read, but still a book well worth reading.

L'autrice si riconferma tra le mie preferite, dimostrandosi ancora una volta una narratrice efficace e potente in questa raccolta di racconti: il primo racconto e il terzo sono molto belli, mentre il secondo (di solo 7 pagine) è troppo breve per essere apprezzato o capito a pieno. L'extra finale mi sembra indispensabile: non avrei potuto accettare un finale così aperto per il primo racconto.
Anche se breve, ho apprezzato la rappresentazione LGBTQ+,, che nei suoi racconti non avevo ancora trovato e che non era affatto scontata.

Je suis trop déçue de ce receuil d'histoires courtes...
Aucune histoire ne semble plausible, tout est exagéré et ça fini toujours en suicide ou en meurtre sur des coups de tête des personnages ? J'ai trouvé les scénarios très maladroits à chaque fois et aucune profondeur à chaque histoire. Le seul point positif c'est qu'il y a certaines cases jolies.

Cuốn này vẫn gồm các tuyển tập các truyện ngắn. Truyện đầu và truyện cuối mang tính healing cao, khá hay và đúng gu mình. Tuy nhiên có một truyện hơi lạc quẻ với nội dung kinh dị nên mình không ưng lắm. Nếu cuốn này cắt truyện kinh dị đó đi thì mình sẽ cho điểm tối đa luôn.

although the author mentioned that it is a collections of depressing stories, yet all of the stories had a glimpse of lights of hope to lives on, no matter how tough it is in life (except yubikiri hime though, that one is purely gothic).
