Katie Knight

It isn’t a big surprise Katie Knight ended up writing romances about the stellar, studdly men of the Navy SEALs; after all, she was a K-9 trainer for the SEALs and met her own Navy SEAL hero husband while preparing one of their K-9 partners for combat. A few years after their marriage, her and hubby decided to retire with their K-9 partner, Sam, to raise their children in the Midwest. It wasn’t long after that before Katie decided to write her own stories featuring the men of the SEAL teams and the women who love them.

When not imagining dangerously romantic scenarios for her heroes and their feisty heroines, Katie enjoys hikes with her husband and Sam, spending time with her children, and long runs (on and off the beach).

Normally I like books by this author. However, this one just didn't work for me. I liked the beginning and how Nate was willing to help her. Then when things got rough she treated him terribly. I hated how she thought Nate shouldn't have any say in anything with Matthew. She was really awful. Normally I would be glad that they were together in the end but realistically he could and should have done better than her.

The Seal's Convenient Marriage by Katie Knight is a pleasant little romance, much like many others, but useful for taking a break from more serious fare. Knight does a credible job with both plot and characters, given the limited range she has assigned herself. There's only so many ways to depict a seal ready to settle down. This is a good one. Nate Shaw is a Navy Seal and older half-brother to Matthew, his mother's son from another relationship. On her deathbed, his mother gave custody of Matthew to Emily Edwards, his nanny. She knew that making Nate his guardian would halt his dram of becoming a Seal so they all agreed it was for the best. And it had been, and was. But now, Matthew is very sick and can be made better only by very expensive treatments. Until now Emily has managed, although it is putting her into the poor house. Then Matthew's doctor makes some threatening suggestions after Emily accidentally sees a suspicious meeting, and Emily feels she must find another doctor. Nate looks at the situation and determines that the solution is his medical insurance and they only way to provide that is to marry Emily, as she is Matthew's adopted mother. He could then adopt Matthew as well. A marriage that would last only as long as it was needed. Emily decided to go along with the plan, not mentioning the threats from Matthews doctor.

Knight writes a good novel. The characters are good and the plot is decent. Of course, we know the ending before we begin reading, but it is the journey that is the important thing and this is an entertaining journey. It's always fun to see a reluctant man fall in love. It's even more fun to see him love a child as much as Nate loves Matthew. It's an entertaining read with just a touch of adventure. There's never a shortage of bad guys, sadly. I recommend it for what it is.

This was a sweet marriage of convenience story. Nate and Emily had good chemistry. Matthew was a cute kid. I was glad Emily agreed to marry Nate, even if she thought it was only for Matthew's sake.

I didn't really like Emily much. Nate was Matthew's brother, but she continually felt the need to throw it in his face that Matthew was "her" son and she was the only one who could make decisions for him. Her attitude completely rubbed me the wrong way. It was like she was saying that Nate's relationship with Matthew held no importance.

The other thing was Emily seemed to be completely irrational when it came to keeping both herself and Matthew safe. Why she thought doing what she was doing would work is beyond me.

Then we have her idealized notion of marriage. I'm not saying that Nate was perfect, but he didn't have nearly as many hangups as Emily.

A sweet, fast paced romance with a couple of steamy scenes, a cute kid, and an HEA.

Nate and Emily have had a connection for quite a while through her adopted son, his half brother. Before Nate and young Matthew’s mom died, she asked Emily, who had been her nanny, to adopt her toddler so that Nate could fulfill his dream of being a SEAL. Emily and Nate have been happy with that arrangement until now. Young Matthew needs expensive cancer treatments that are not covered by Emily’s insurance and she is now mired in debt and struggling to take care of Matthew and work enough to pay the bills. Recently back from deployment, Nate realizes the strain Emily is under and suggests they marry in order to have Matthew’s treatments covered by his insurance. A quickie wedding, and an equally quick move into his military base housing, then they are left to settle into life together. Both have agreed that their marriage is to be temporary, just until Matthew can finish his treatments and go into remission, but neither has taken their strong attraction to the other into account. He has been a playboy in the past, but Nate feels connected to Emily. When he realizes she is being threatened and her life could be danger, his alpha protective instincts kick in and he takes matters into his own hands. While they share passionate nights together, and the care of Matthew, he makes decisions about her protection without consulting her, which turns out to be a very big point of contention between them. Will two headstrong people who can’t admit how they feel to each other be able to grab the happily ever after that Emily has dreamed about since she was a girl?

I loved the connection between Emily and Nate, and that they have learned one of the most important things needed to have a lasting relationship. Honest, open communication between them is just as important as love and trust. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, especially with a man in uniform. I had so much fun with this contemporary twist on the marriage of convenience theme. Paired with the fact that it stars a military hero, and I’m happier than a cat rolling in catnip. I loved Nate and Matthew. Even though these two don’t have anything like a conventional sibling relationship, the brotherly bond between them is palpable. Emily, on the other hand, drove me slightly mental. Her insistence that she could handle everything for herself and that only she could make the right choices, made me want to shake some sense into her. Particularly while I watched her dance obliviously into ‘too stupid to live’ territory. I grew up on fairy tales, so I get where she was coming from in terms of wanting her perfect Happy Ever After, but Emily broke my heart when she continued to cling to her unrealistic dreams in the face of something that could be pretty fantastic. However, for as much as Emily made me gnash my teeth in frustration, I really did enjoy the story, and I loved the way it ended.

This book brings us Nate and Emily. Nate's mother, on her deathbed, appoints Emily custody of her minor son Matthew. A couple of years later, Matthew develops cancer, and Emily will do anything for him. However, with the mounting hospital bills, Emily finds herself with little money. Nate comes home and discovers Emily's predicament and offers to marry her for insurance purposes only. Emily is hesitant, but finds this to be her only way out of debt. This will make her and Matthew's life much easier. However, after a late night visit to pay a bill, Emily walks in on Matthew's Doctor doing something illegal and is threatened by him. Nate becomes involved when he learns of the Dr's threats to Emily. I loved how Nate truly found his "one." I highly recommend this book. I received an arc for an honest review.

Katie Knight has written a 5-star book that will grab you from the first page to the last. Emily is the adopted mom of Matthew and Nate is his half brother. Emily is overrun with bills due to Matthew's cancer and one night she went to make a payment to the clinic where Matthew has his treatments and she sees something she was not supposed to see. This gets her in trouble and puts her life on the line. Matthew's doctor Timothy Albright threatens her to keep quiet. She tells Nate about having to find Matthew a new doctor. Things go a little sideways for Emily when she gets a note from Matthew's doctor. It upsets her and she tells Nate about it after he finds the note. Nate later finds out how far behind she is on her bills and he comes up with a plan to help her. Nate's plan is for them to get married so that Matthew gets a new doctor and the military will cover it. Emily is out one day when she is almost hit by an SUV. She tells Nate about it and he tells his friend Jared about it and asks for him to look into it off the books. Things are going good for them until one night Matthew gets taken. Nate remembers a shed behind the clinic and he calls Jared and tells him where he is going. Emily and Nate go to the clinic and when they get there Emily sees the men and she goes after them. One of the men attacks her and Nate goes after him. He gets Emily free and then fights the men. Emily finds Matthew tied to a chair with a note. After the police get there and take the men away, Jared tells Nate that he will get their statements the next day. Jared tells Nate that he may need for Matthew to give a statement and Nate tells him that may not happen. Jared tells Nate that the police are looking for doctor Timothy Albright and there is one place that he may be. Nate gets a call later from Jared and is told that doctor Timothy Albright is in jail. After things are over with, Emily tells him that they were over since Nate only married her to help with Matthew's illness. Nate goes to see his lawyer so he could get the divorce papers started but the lawyer asks "What is the reason for the divorce?" Nate can't give him a reason. T Emily takes Matthew to his doctor's appointment and at the last minute, Nate walks in and they are told that Matthew's scan was clean. After they left the doctor's office, Nate asked what they wanted to do to celebrate? Nate tells her that he went to see his lawyer but he couldn't state the divorce papers. She asked if there was a problem and Nate said yes. He didn['t want a divorce. Emily tells him that she didn't either.
Will Emily and Nate work things out between them and get their HEA?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Great story.
This is wonderful but emotional love story that you can't help but feel for both Emily & Nate understanding the reasons why both of them behaved doing what they did. Emily was having a hard time struggling to pay bills aswell as paying for Matthew's medical treatment but things only got worse when she was dropping of a cheque at the doctors. After seeing something by chance that she shouldn't have she was threatened by Matthew's doctor so was looking for a new Doctor to continue Matthew's cancer treatment when his big brother Nate offered to marry her so Matthew's treatment would be covered under his health insurance, she knew he never ever wanted to get married but doing this would be for his little brother. Threats from the doctor got worse & she told Nate who without her knowing snooped about & also told Jared his friend in the police who served as SEALs together leading to poor Matthew being kidnapped by thugs. Once the thugs & Doctor were locked up & no longer a threat Emily told Nate they didn't need to be together anymore as there was no more danger & Matthew was getting better but even though that's why it started both of them fell in love with each other but neither wanted to tell the other. They had both been sad since she & Matthew moved out but when Nate went to his solictor to sort out the divorce he realised that he didn't want one & after a talk with her mum Emily didn't want to either after realising the love in fairytales wasn't real but her live for Nate was. I was so desperate for the 3 of them to get back together & be a happy little family that u couldn't stop reading & the end was even better than I'd been hoping for, I loved it.

Emily Edwards is a single mom who is dealing with her adopted son's, Matthew's, cancer and the overwhelming amount of debt she has. Emily is searching for a new cancer doctor after witnessing seeing Matthew's doctor taking money from some shady men when she stopped off to make a payment of her bill. Emily is afraid of what the doctor will do to Matthew after threatening her about what she had seen. Nate Shaw is a Navy Seal and Matthew's older brother. When Nate and Matthew's mother passed away, she wanted Emily to adopt Matthew, so Nate could follow his dream without worrying about trying to raise his little brother. When Nate finds Matthew medical bills and realizes that Emily is struggling to survive, he proposes marriage. With marriage to him, her and Matthew would have access to better healthcare and free housing. Emily and Nate struggle with their feelings for each other, and the chemistry that swirls between them. Will a marriage of convenience turn into a forever kind of love and marriage? Will Nate be able to protect Matthew and Emily when the threats toward them become more dangerous? Will Emily and Nate walk away or fight for their future and family? I enjoyed The Seal's Convenient Marriage by Katie Knight. I would recommend getting The Seal's Convenient Marriage and any other book by Katie Knight.

Marriage of Convenience or NOT? This story is about Nate, Emily and Matthew. Matthew is four years old and stepbrother to Nate and adopted by Emily who use to be his nanny. Matthew’s mother died in a car accident and she was left guardian of Matthew, as Nate was in the service and his mother did not want him to put his life and dreams on hold. Nate is still close to his little brother and Emily, but now more than ever does he feel the need to step in as more than a friend and brother but as a husband and father…. This is such a great story, it is sad to realize that children do get cancer, but knowing that there are parents and others that care so much to make sure that their lives are always attended to and loved, is beautiful. Although this story is not just about Matthew and the struggles Emily faces as a single mom, but that of protection that she needs in order to survive something that she saw and was threaten to never repeat, but once a SEAL learns about it, people will pay! Of course, there is a lot of action and a lot of loving that is well deserved.

Emily Edwards is struggling to pay for her adopted 4-year-old son's medical treatments for cancer. Although Navy SEAL Nate Shaw does not believe in love after he saw how it devastated his mother when his father left, he is practical and offers to marry Emily so that she will have access to healthcare and housing for Matthew, who is his little brother. She is reluctant, but they agree to the marriage of convenience for a one year period just to help her get by. She didn’t mention to him that she had seen something she wasn’t supposed to see, and now she may be in danger from Matthew’s doctor. Will Nate be ready to step forward and protect his family?

This was a good story with a clever side-issue to keep the suspense up. The characters were well-portrayed, although Ms Edwards took some time to grow on you. Grab your copy and see if Nate is blind-sided by the danger she never warned him about, and whether the two of them will fall in love before their marriage deadline expires and is ready to be dissolved.

Emily becomes the guardian of Matthew when his mother dies. Everything is going well for them and then Matthew gets sick from cancer. The bills starts piling up and Emily worries about what she'll do for them. Nate is in the navy and he is home when he learns about Emily and everything they're going through. He comes up with the idea of them marrying so they'll be on his insurance plus help out financially. When Emily walks in on the doctor doing something he shouldn't he starts threatening her. She keeps the incident to herself trying not to bring any trouble to Nate. However Nate finds out and isn't happy about it at all. What will he do to the doctor? Will he finally admit to Emily that what they have is real?

This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This book has danger, suspense, illness, loss followed by love and protection. Nate is 20 years older than his 1/2brother Mathew. When their mother is in a serious car accident, on her death bed, she asks Emily, Mathew’s nannie, to adopt him so Nate can follow his dream to be a SEAL. Shortly after the adoption Mathew is diagnosed with cancer. When Nate comes home from deployment, he discovers Emily is in debt because of the medical costs. He suggests a marriage of convenience so Mathew will be covered by his military insurance. From there Nate discovers the dangerous situation Emily stumbled upon. Can he keep his brother and Emily safe, can he ever be a real husband, does he want that when it goes against everything he believes? Emily is strong, courages, loving and knows what she wants, but maybe her expectations and reality need to be examined. Can she accept that fairytale endings come in all forms?

Once again this talented author delivers a winner.
In this story Emily Edwards, a single mom, is dealing not only with the cancer of her adopted four year old, but also with the debt due to the expensive treatments.
Since life can’t get any worse, she accidentally sees Matthew’s doctor doing something illegal and the man threatens her if she says anything.
She’s now desperate to find a new doctor, and the means to pay the bills that continue to rise.
Navy SEAL Nate Shaw, is Matthew’s brother. A man who admires Emily and is thankful for all she’s done for his brother. His solution, a marriage of convenience so Matthew gets the insurance necessary for the treatments.
But as feelings develop, so do the threats . Trust is severed and life implodes. Will the danger always be a threat? Will they give love a chance or will fairy tales and doubts end what barely had started?

The Seal’s convenient marriage by Katie Knight is a 4 star read.
Emily Edwards worked as a nanny but when the mother passed away she left her son Matthew in her care, she adopted the now 4 year old, but he’s fighting cancer and the money is running out fast for his treatment. When she sees something she shouldn’t one night when she goes to the clinic she knows she needs to find a new doctor but also find a way to keep both her and her son safe.
Nate Shaw is Marthew’s older brother, when their mother died she wanted Nate to follow his heart to become a navy seal so she left custody of Matthew to Emily, Nate does everything he can to be in his brothers life but when he realises that Emily is in some financial trouble he proposes a fake marriage as a way to help with medical treatment. Both Nate and Emily feel a connection to each other but is it just because of Matthew??
I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it.

Nate and Emily maybe my new favorite couple in this series.
Nate is a dedicated SEAL. Focused on career and not finding or having a need for love due to watching his father walk out.
Emily is all about love and has a huge heart. She adopts Nate’s brother and has dedicated herself to loving him and giving up on the idea of a forever love for herself to care for him. She deals with his mounting medical bills. Nate becomes aware of the situation and steps in to offer a marriage for Emily to access his benefits to help.
She agrees despite always thinking she would marry for love.
Yet as they spend time as a family. Deal with mounting threats from her sons doctor. These two find a need to protect , stick together and ultimately fall in love. Such awesome characters and a great read that has humor, drama and heart.

One marriage of convenience + Feelings = A future neither ever expected

The SEAL’s Convenient Marriage is a sweet arranged marriage for a purpose romance. One again Katie Knight knocks it out of the park with the characters of Nate Shaw and Emily Edwards, and you can't forget sweet young Matthew. Both Nate and Emily had a certain ideas about their future but as we all know things change and they do quickly for these two, especially when someone starts threatening Emily. All of Nate's possessive and protective Navy SEAL Alpha kicks in wanting to keep her and Matthew safe.
I am going to say that there were a few eye-rolling moments with the plot but you just make it past those and then into something wonderful hurtling towards a great HEA. The book is well written, the characters are nicely developed and the story-line is entertaining and engaging. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to other readers!

Emily is starting to feel overwhelmed by all the bills from Matthew's cancer, also she saw something when she went to pay a bill at the clinic and was threatened. Then Nate, Matthew's big brother comes back from deployment, he's a Seal, he inadvertently finds the bills and realizes she's not coping, so he comes up with a plan. They get married and Emily and Matthew would be covered on his insurance, and if they moved in with him she'd save on rent too.
Emily isn't too sure because she seems to have started to have feelings for him but common sense takes over. Nate realizes that he's had feelings for Emily for a while, especially when Emily tells him about the threat.
Will everything just go away, will the threats stop or escalate, will Matthew go into remission?
A great romantic suspense.

Love breaks through stubborn independence and walls
The SEAL’s Convenient Marriage by Katie Knight is a well written military romance with a dash of danger, a sip of suspense and heaps of heart and heat.
Emily and Nate are integral to each other’s lives through unique circumstances. Danger brings them in close proximity and brings up feelings, longing and desires long denied and buried. I was quickly enthralled with Emily’s plight and Nates role as her protector, creating the perfect storm for them to acknowledge the chemistry, act on it and develop all the feelings that lead to love.
Overall, a very well written military romance of danger, suspense, connection, acceptance and ultimately love and family for a really wonderful HEA with tons of feels all around.

This one was slightly outside the box and I liked that. The premise has a different twist. Emilys adopted son is Nates half brother. Emily was Nanny to Matthew (Nates half brother) and adopted Matthew with Nates blessing. When Nate is home on leave he finds out about the financial hole Emily is in from Matthews cancer treatments and seeing as how he is thinking of Emily in other ways he decides its perfect opportunity to help and offers marriage. Unbeknowing to Nate, Emily has seen something she shouldn't and is being targeted. We have mild suspense, romance and a happily ever after. It was an enjoyable read but IMHO needed something more. Course if I knew what I would be an author or a critic, I am just a reader.

Emily is having trouble paying for treatment for her adopted son's cancer. Matthew's older brother, Nate, a Navy SEAL, suggests a fake marriage. If they can find a new doctor, this will help with payment for Matthew's treatment. What Emily fails to mention is that she's being threatened by the doctor over something she saw at his clinic. When Nate finds out about it, he makes a decision to go to the police. This is a great book, fast-paced and full of action. Emily and Nate have always been attracted to each other, but never made a move - she's looking for happily ever after, and he's Two Date Nate. The chemistry is still there, though, and there's no way they can deny it. Her mother and his attorney give the both of them a kick in the pants and something to think about before they call it quits.

Another wonderful read from this writing duo I have read most of their books and they are fast favourites for me

There is only one thing that Nate Shaw believes in and that is his job as a Navy Seal and nothing will get in the way of it He will never commit himself to a woman he remembers the heartbreak his mother went through when his father walked away that is the basis for his no more than two date rule. Now though he will have to rethink that rule Emily Edwards has adopted his younger brother who is suffering from cancer and he offers a marriage of convenience so that she can use his health insurance. Only problem is that Emily believes in love and doesn't know is she can have a marriage of convenience When Emily sees something she shouldn't and her life is in danger Nate may just have to rethink how he feels as he determines he will do anything to keep her safe.

This is my first time reading something by this author and I enjoyed it very much. Ms. Knight has written a terrific story that will keep you turning the pages till the end. This is a fake marriage story that has an entertaining and intriguing storyline that pulls you in from the very beginning. The characters were strong and well developed and had great personalities. This book is sweet and entertaining and I was hooked from the beginning. Not only does it have romance, but also danger mixed in which will have you turning the pages to find out what happens next. The character build was great and the chemistry undeniable. I enjoyed this book very much and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

The story is a fairly typical convenient marriage to love story, with a small twist:
Emily became the legal parent of 2-year old Matthew, when his mother died. His only still living relative is his much older brother, Nate, who just started training as a Navy-Seal, when his mother passed.
Now, 3 years later, Matthew is battling cancer, and not only is Emily struggling with all of the financial problems that ensue, she is also targeted by criminals for something she saw. Nate, on leave, comes to the rescue and suggests to marry Emily, thus giving Matthew the health benefits he would need and Emily a a break.
Matt's health is an issue in the story, but more than that the criminals target Emily again and again , which brings an element of suspense to the story.
Quite entertaining and well-written.

Nate spent his entire adult life focused on his SEAL team and their missions and not believing in happily ever afters. Emily has believe since she was a young girl that her knight in shining armor would swoop in romantically and be her forever love. The one thing these 2 stubborn people have in common is their love for Nate’s younger brother, whom Emily has adopted after the death of his mother. There is nothing they won’t do for Matthew. Including get married to provide a stable life for him. When someone threatens his new family, there is nothing Nate won’t do to protect them. Katie does an amazing job taking you on their emotional roller coaster as Nate slowly comes to the realization that love is worth the risk while Emily learns that the perfect man doesn’t need to be perfect. Just perfect FOR HER! The question is, will they figure it out in time!!!

This is has a different twist on the love for convenience story line with mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Nash is a SEAL and is Matthew's older brother. When their mother past, she left Matthew to Emily so that Nash could continue his career. Back home, Nash realizes Emily is struggling from all the bills from Matthew's treatments. Wanting to help not only Emily but her brother, he suggest getting married. I love what Emily's mother said about marriage for family when Emily was deciding what to do.

This story takes a turn when Emily happen to be in the wrong place, with threats and scares, she does not know what to do. Nate wanted to help, but the more he tried the worse it became.

This is a fascinating story that will keep you turning the pages.

Nate Shaw is an all-around good guy who's life as a Navy Seal revolves around saving and protecting people. When he finds out his little brother's adopted mother needs help paying for his brother's cancer treatments it is second nature for him to jump in and offer to marry her so they can use his military medical insurance. Okay, he never thought about the attraction he has always felt toward Emily not one bit when he offered to marry her. Sometimes being a good guy has some added benefits. What Nate did not know is that Emily is in danger because of something she saw. Good thing she married a SEAL!

I was given an ARC through Booksprout in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
