At the onset of her getaway to the hills of Himachal Pradesh in a secluded tourist spot, Writer's Hill, Nisha knew something terrible was going to happen. There is also the caretaker's visually impaired daughter who claims she can 'see things'.With barely any leads, the police know they have to work doubly hard if they want to find Nisha, but with each passing day, the mystery around her disappearance gets murkier.Where is Nisha?
Book : The Girl who disappeared Writer : Vikrant Khanna Publisher : Penguin Random House Pages : 228 Shop : Flipkart
The sole reason for buying the book is the title of this book. The story about a pair Rishi and Nisha, and other girl named Avni ( who is mad on Rishi ) . And one day Nisha went missing. Where she went ? What happened to her is in the remaining pages ..... More than the main protagonist.. I liked Anand character... I can't say this is a thriller book... but a beginner friendly one...

The story started on a very subtle simple tone with Nisha having some trouble with her boyfriends ex girlfriend and so decide to take a vacation to the hills of Himachal. . They way author has introduced other character is very impressive. There are about 10 other main characters and the character development was so good that you can connect the the thoughts of them without any confusion on who is who. There's an uninspired writer looking for a good mystry story, a thief couple planning their next theft, the caretaker, his wife and his visually impaired daughter claims to see things that aren't real from others eyes like a prophecy and claims to have seen supernatural creatures coming towards the resort. . The story took an interesting turn when Nisha disappears without any trace and everyone reports hearing paranormal noises coming from the woods as if someone is in pain- something supernatural. The question was where was Nisha? what were the noises? . The best thing about this book was- cute little small chapters which did not burden the reader with too much of information, leaking just the right amount of facts. Other thing that I liked the most was how the author had different sections for the -plot building -the investigation and the conclusion- properly organised. . Yes, the ending wasn't expected but it was something that had seen coming. i was a little disappointed though but the story was great.
@vikrantkhanna has his unique style of writing, dealing with different characters and surrealistic objects in a very interesting way. The story, in the beginning, is very interesting, really a page-turner. The main characters Nisha and Rishi, a couple, are heading to the Writer’s hill, a tourist place in Himachal Pradesh for some peace and safety because of some events that occurred in the past few days, and Nisha knew something terrible was going to happen. In the Writer’s Hill, they got to meet Monica & Roy (another couple), Meena (a blind girl) and her parents Babu & Moni (The Caretakers), and Anand (a writer). One night in an unusual way and under a supernatural element, Nisha disappears. All of the characters have their secrets and stories, which unfold as the story progresses. The writing style is simple and easy-going, the swiftness of the story, in the beginning, is great, full-on attractive, the supernatural elements make the story more interesting to read but as the story advances the supernatural part which seemed to be exciting. One of the characters Avni is shown to be violent and weird but why was she like that has not been cleared. In my view, the first half of the book is very well done and super engaging. Read it: If you want some light mystery read.
The story begins with a very promising mysterious plot where a couple (Rishi and Nisha) goes to a beautiful place (writer's hill, Himachal pradesh) and within 72 hours the girl goes missing under Mysterious circumstances. During investigation all of them speak of some supernatural occurrence on the night of Nisha's disappearance. The plot is intriguing and interesting. Hope you'll like it.
Enjoyed the setting and characters in this book, each one has a different quirk painting them all grey. The ending was a bit of a let down, expected something far more sinister. Nonetheless it is a good and easy read.

Review
The title of book is mysterious in itself as the story is also flows with the lots of Mysterious activities, which made me read more and more of the story.
The girl who disappeared is indeed a engrossing story which kept me hooked till the last but ending of the story disappointed me as I wanted more intriguing.
Ending could have been better I believe but I don't have any idea about it.
The language of the book is lucid and narration is also very nice and I liked it over-all but have mixed feelings.
Thrillers and mysteries are not an easy genre to write. Primarily because readers have read literally hundreds of plots and are waiting to pre-empt the plot.
Therefore, the author has to take the reader along on the journey, but also find a way to stay one step ahead of the reader.
The book has easy, credible characters. The story progresses at an easy, bordering on languid, pace. But the advantage of a book is that one can speed read the slow sections if one wants to.
The characters and the plot develop simultaneously, with details getting added in each chapter.
While the overall plot is credible, but just so, the rest of the story also has some plot holes that leave the reader, if not frustrated, definitely wondering. Maybe, a writer cannot cover all bases of probability, or the book would become too big to be readable.
If you have a flight or a short train/bus ride, or are looking for a pacy read to spend a lazy winter afternoon, this book would be a good fit.
This is such a good mystery book i thought i knew what happened to Nisha but when i read the conclusion it blew me away, I'm pretty sure it was one of the best ending a mystery can have. But i also want to read what happened after the book end how it did but on the other hand I don't want to know what will happen cause i think it's the perfect ending. Would surely recommend if you are up for a rollercoaster of thoughts.
"The Girl Who Disappeared" by Vikrant Khanna is a gripping thriller that masterfully intertwines suspense and emotion. Khanna’s compelling narrative and well-crafted characters keep readers on the edge of their seats. With its unexpected twists and evocative writing, this book is an absolute page-turner that captivates from start to finish. A must-read for thriller enthusiasts!
My god the whole book was very underwhelming. The writing was average and I never felt excited to keep going. It’s a decent book but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone honestly.
Book is quite interesting. But at a certain point the stories goes off track which I didn’t like much. And I didn’t understand the author character’s backstory that much..
the book was quite interesting, the plots were unexpected and the storyline was very unassuming. must try this book if you're just entering the world of reading!!
A book about mystery, jealousy, love and extent to which people can go for their love and loved ones. A book with twists and an unexpected ending. A book revolving around how Nisha got disappeared from a small cottage.
This book is full of mystery. You won't get to the result. The result would be way more diffrent what you'd have thought.
At the onset of her getaway to the hills of Himachal Pradesh in a secluded tourist spot, Writer's Hill, Nisha knew something terrible was going to happen. Less than seventy-two hours later, she goes missing under mysterious circumstances. Persons are telling about some event organized by some supernatural thing and sound that's never been heard before. Try guessing what would have happened and find yourself wrong. With very short chapters, it was a fast read.
Wow! Not gonna lie I already predicted the ending, but I didn't know there would be another ending, or should I say plot twist? Yes, plot twist. There was still no explanation for the magical things that were happening, so I'm just going to assume that there were indeed some supernatural powers involved. Anyway, overall, I think it was a really good book. All that mystery build-up was worth it. I had binge read whole story in a single sitting because I couldn't stop once I started reading it. It kept me hooked from start to end. Will recommend it to my friends too!
Don't go for it ! The story only circles around what happened to Nisha? I didn't like that again again there was same question occurring there was no suspense except for the end. But at the end of reading this book you would be like " What the hell just happened? ". His books more like fantasies than mystery.
