Issue 5 in the Medium Chill is another fun and creative anthology of independent fiction and poetry. Two of my own short pieces--"Corrigendum", a dystopian story about day-drinking, and "Factor VIII", an ambiguous work of body horror--appear here. As in any collection, not every story completely worked for me, but some of my favorites include Rhonda Baughman's apocalyptic satire "I've Developed a Taste for Cashews", Stephanie Paul's science fiction "3650 Days" and Alyssa Herron's earnest ghost story "Take Care of Her". I've enjoyed reading and contributing to this series over the past two years and look forward to jumping into the final issue soon.
