Medium Chill is a collection of short fiction, art and poetry from both independent and professional writers. I've enjoyed all seven issues of the series so far, including this one: issue 6, and look forward to upcoming installments. Full disclosure, the series's creator, Dr. Rhonda Baughman, is an old friend of mine I've known since we were kids. Also, my own short fiction appears in a few issues in this series, but not this one, which I enjoyed every bit as much as the others. I'd like to think that even if I didn't know her, I'd still like Baughman's entries the best due to her wry voice and sometimes absurdist scenarios. Here, she does much of the writing, and the resulting pieces are all pretty great. I also enjoyed many of the short poems by writers like Robert Beveridge, Stew Miller and, of course, Baughman as well as many of the longer pieces that appear in this edition. All in all, it's another fun and creative issue of this enjoyable series.
